Everything was great: organisation, contact, price, the tour and the driver and guide Bob. New discoveries, animals in free beautiful nature and really a good spirit on all sides. Very pleasant and a new world for us. Thanks for that chance and experience!

Gorilla Safari was the trip of a lifetime. We loved our guide Ronald
5/5

What an amazing trip. All our dreams of seeing gorillas in the wild and lions and leopards and elephants and hippos came true. Ronald was an excellent guide. We had our own private safari, which was perfect. The accommodations were great.
One of our favorite parts was visiting a village in the mountains and interacting with the women, the Botwa (AKA Pygmies) and the orphans. I highly recommend this safari. The price is amazing. The Guide is so personable and caring. You won't regret booking the Safari.

Exceptional 7 Day Trip Through Rwanda and Uganda with Kajie Safaris
5/5

I had the pleasure of working with Ronald at Kajie Safari to organize and operate my 7 day trip through Rwanda and Uganda in February 2023.

I was looking for a tour operator that could incorporate both the Gorilla Tracking in Rwanda and the Gorilla Tracking in Uganda and found that Kajie Safari could accommodate my request within the time frame I was looking at. Ronald was highly responsive, accomodating and transparent about the chances of getting permits and crafting an itinerary based on my specific preferences. For example, I had asked if it was possible to start and end the tour at the hotels I had booked in Kigali and Entebbe respectively. Ronald assured me that this was possible and when I got on the ground in Rwanda and Uganda, it was only then that I realized how far out of the way my hotels were for Ronald yet he still accommodated my requests anyways. I was absolutely grateful that Ronald agreed to this as he made my travel plans so much easier.

As a tour operator, I observed how Ronald and Kajie Safari are deeply connected in the Uganda tourist industry. Ronald knew all of the other tour operators, the lodging and hotel staff, and national park rangers. When we were on our game drives in Queen Elizabeth National Park, Ronald was able to work with other tour operators and national park rangers to locate the big game within the park and drive to the spots to ensure that I was able to view the big game. Ronald has strong ties with the hotel and lodging staff which made staying at the local accommodations feel that much homier.

I feel like being this deeply connected within the industry is an important consideration when selecting the right tour operator because when you are abroad, you want to make sure that someone who is receiving you on the other end knows the community well and can help guide you and provide the best experiences possible.

Ronald’s knowledge of the scenic back roads in Uganda was truly amazing. He would maneuver through off road conditions with ease, drive through roads that were not shown on Google maps, and still get to our next destination on time all while showcasing the beauty of Uganda’s natural landscape. It would have been easier to take the main road to our next destination, but Ronald believed that driving through these scenic back roads was part of providing the best and most authentic experiences possible and he was not wrong!

If you are looking for a tour operator that will show you the main attractions and the hidden gems of Uganda, I would highly recommend you book with Kajie Safari. If you are looking for an authentic tour operator who is deeply entrenched in the Uganda tourist industry, I would highly recommend you book with Kajie Safari. Ronald and Kajie Safari will show you the best of Uganda and Rwanda in a one of a kind experience you will have lasting memories of.

Professional tour operator, amazing guide and driver, experience of a lifetime!
5/5

I just got back from a 7 day, slightly customized version of the 7 day gorilla, chimpanzee and lions tour. The experience from my first information enquiry until I arrived was easy, tranparent and informative. His choice of lodges was excellent and provided me with great options from the itineary to the type of vehicle I would be driven in. Ronald works very professionally, replies to emails and questions very quickly and most importantly, selected an amazing guide and driver for my tour. Definitely ask for Bob if you book with Kajie. He is an incredible guy, was a great companion for my journey, was full of valuable information about Ugandan society and wild-life and provided good, honest and reliable advice on various activity and travel options that I had during the tour. It is absolutely worth mentioning that Bob is a very good and safe driver, something you definitely want on Uganda's back roads.

Amazing trip with an exceptional Tour guide (Brian)!
5/5

My 5 day Gorilla and Chimp trekking trip with Kajie Safaris was excellent and very smooth. My tour guide Brian was constantly making sure I had everything I needed to have a great trip. He really went above and beyond anything I expected! It was just me and the guide and we spent many hours together in the van learning about Uganda and the history of the 5 kingdoms. He always knew where we were going, the best roads to take and seemed to know all of the park rangers and staff everywhere. I highly recommend Brian as your guide!

The only potential drawback on the whole trip, would be to confirm the vehicle you are travelling. While my trip was just me, the van we travelled worked great. However, if you are in a group (most likely) for safari comfort and visibility to the wildlife I suggest confirming the vehicle type.

On my trip I spent two nights at the Bweza Gorilla Lodge: highly recommend, very intimate location (only 6 rooms), very friendly staff, and excellent food. Not much of a bar selection, so maybe bring your own alcohol if interested. For QEP, I stayed at the Elephant HAB Lodge for 2 nights. Also, very comfortable, nice views, good pool (although with all the adventures, not really much time to swim).

Overall, I had a great experience dealing with Kajie Safaris. Ronald was very quick to respond to questions and modifying trip details as necessary. Definitely recommend using them to book your trip, but do be proactive about reaching out for any details as the trip date approaches.

Outstanding!
5/5

The four of us were met at Kigali airport by our guide Simon late at night after flying in from the UK. From that moment on, Simon steered us through some once in a lifetime experiences from iconic gorilla trekking in both Rwanda and Uganda, various safaris, a boat cruise, a chimpanzee expedition and to an assortment of well chosen hotels and lodges. At all times, Simon kept our best interests at the heart of the holiday, accommodating any requests that we made of him and tailoring the activities to suit our needs. He is calm, personable, extremely knowledgable and is clearly well known and respected by the people he works with at the various locations on our trip.

Altogether an amazing adventure which we would highly recommend. The gorilla treks were challenging but not to be missed - be sure to use the invaluable services of a local guide to support you as the terrain can be very steep and uneven. It’s not for the faint hearted!!!

Thank you Simon for your wisdom, friendship, skilful driving and your trusty van Precious - not the most glamorous vehicle but she was constantly reliable on the unpredictable African roads!

Kajie Safaris EXCEEDED our expectations
5/5

We booked this trip 3 years ago, just before COVID, and finally realized our dream adventure a few weeks ago. Ronald was always available to answer questions via email or WhatsApp. Simon was our brilliant guide/driver. I cannot say enough or give enough praise to Kajie Safaris for exceeding our expectations. Simon seemed to have an extra set of eyes…one on the road ahead and one scanning for animals and birds. His knowledge of nature is vast. His love and pride of beautiful Uganda is quite evident. We fell in love with Uganda too. We got to meet Ronald as he was with some clients whose tour intersected ours a couple of times. Ronald and Simon took care of so may little details and never hesitated to assist. We HIGHLY recommend Kajie Safaris

Ronald made it a trip of a lifetime
5/5

Kajie Safaris was absolutely the best. From day one, designing the trip with us to helping us with needed paperwork and packing lists to being there for us the day we arrived until the day we left. The accommodations were top notch. Loved the private villas with all the fabulous views. We throughly enjoyed the game drives seeing multiple species of antelope, baboons, monkeys, giraffes, elephants, zebra, water buffalo, lions and leopards. We did the rhino sanctuary and saw a rhino family. The chimpanzee trek was great. The gorilla trek was amazing and we were entertained by a baby for gorilla for an hour. Uganda food is organic and delicious. A special thanks to our guide, Ronald, who made this a trip of a lifetime. The price was more than reasonable and the service we got was unbelievably great.
