An excellent adventure in Africa!
An excellent adventure in Africa.
Being able to enjoy fantastic landscapes surrounded by wildlife is an unforgettable experience.
Cycling alongside zebras, elephants, giraffes, gazelles, etc., both in the Mara and Kilimanjaro, or near large lakes, was something we will soon forget.
For two weeks we traveled in the company of René and his entire team, always with maximum security and everything was done with great professionalism.
Both Rene and his collaborators (Jakson and Vicent) did everything they could to make sure we had a great vacation.
Thank you all!

Rene quickly makes everyone feel at ease, whilst providing a great adventure in the real Kenya
Rene is very positive and clear in his communication, is flexible when needed and looks after the companions very well. He knows a lot about Kenya, but lets yourself experience the beautiful nature and the friendly people. For me the trip had exactly the right mixture of sports, relaxation and time to enjoy the nature, wildlife and people. Yes it was sometime challenging to climb another dusty dirt road, trying to avoid another flat tire due to the many rocks, but we always got to the hotel before getting completely devastated and there was always a good shower and sometimes even swimming pool waiting for us. Rene clearly enjoyed the ride as well, and fortunately was equally glad to be at the hotel. It felt good to recover during dinner, it which Rene turned out to be great story teller of all his previous trips, whilst keeping interest in the others.
The experience was precisely what I had hoped for, no thoughts other than concentration on the road, the bike and on the surrounding nature slowly passing by.

Supportive, experienced, reliable and an absolute worthwhile LifeJourney experience ! Top !
At first some hesitation to book this journey, but during the tour it became clear that my expectations were met. I have done multiple other cycling tours mostly in Europe but amongst wild animals like a giraffe is something you do once in a lieftime. Spectacular views and cycling between the Masai people is absolutely something different. The lodges or campings were tidy and food services are sufficient.
The tour was carefully planned so there were no bad experiences. Our guide Rene was very supportive and funny. There is a supportive 4 x 4 car that drove during our tour with us so that gave me a very safe feeling if something would happen.
I hope Rene will expand these cycling tours around Africa sothat I can book them straight away. No doubts!

The perfect mix of cycling, safari and exploring Kenia
A wonderful experience. A varied program, no dull moment. Rene set out a wonderful round trip, starting and ending in Navasha. We cycled it all, sometimes it was hard work, but it was fun all the time. We followed really special routes; sometimes you came in completely non touristic areas, where you really experienced life in Kenya. And had the feeling we were welcome (an attracted a lot of attention)! We had several safaris; with of course the climax: the Masai Mara, where we had a perfect guide who was able to show us the big five; all with a prey (and from nearby). Very pleased with the service from African Cycling. They know Kenya, know what cycling is, have their local contacts, organize a support car and team, arrange good hotels and food, provide good service

A journey of a lifetime
The cycle trip was an amazing experience, to see, smell and taste Africa.
There is a good balance between cycle and rest days. And the hotels that we stayed in where good, of course one better than the other. We spend two nights in a tent and that was a really amazing experience, you could hear the hippos eating grass right next to your tent.
The highlight of the trip was for me the Masai Mara, such a beautiful place.
I could go on for ever but the best thing is for you to experience it for yourself.
The people who organized it were very friendly and supporting.
If you wasn't in love with African already you'll be definitely after this trip!!

An unforgettable adventure trip ; exploring Kenya by bike
An unforgettable adventure trip ; exploring Kenya by bike
Well organized
- René is an excellent guide who knows the route well and has an eye for the safety and well-being of the cyclists
- Prima Hotels - For African Concepts; Not all as luxurious, but they all provide excellent in the most basic needs
- Good support team transporting luggage, providing lunch on the way and assistance in calamities (i.e. bicycle repairs)
Nice biking route
- Huge diversity in landscape we cycled through (mountains, savannah, plantations, forests, lakes)
- Both on paved roads and on unpaved roads (and vehicle tracks)
Perfect tour plan
- In effort / sports performance; First half of the tour: less km’s and more rest days / Last half : more km’s and less rest days
- A safari in a small park with limited number of wildlife in the first days to the wildlife big5 and more in the last week
- Diversity in safari’s ; on bike, by car and by boat
- Nice ratio between cycling days and rest/safari days
Full program of sports and adventure; Almost every day new special experiences gained; No moments of boredom
Further:
- It was fun and very special to bivak for 2 nights in a tent (with grazing hippo’s around my tent at night)
- It was a nice group (cyclists, guide and support team) to join and explore Kenya in 17 days
Thnx René, for this very special adventure trip that I will always remember!
I hope we will explore other countries in the future togehter!
Regards, Ruud de Bruijne
