African forgotten tribes and Usambara trekking
5/5

We have now done a safari with AfricanHeartExpeditions for the second time. This time we wanted something very special, as we were in the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater last year. We did a camping safari to Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara National Park and the Hadzabe and Datogas at Lake Eyasi. Afterwards I hiked in the Usambara Mountains from Lushoto to the MamboViewPoint. We were accompanied by the boss, Mosses, and his wife Emma, the driver Rajabu and the cook, Alex. Rajabu was well connected, always in a good mood and taught us a lot about nature. Alex provided us with very tasty food at least 4 times a day. We spotted lots of animals, even a hunting lioness. We got an insight into the life of the Hadzabe and Datogas, which is light years away from what we imagined. The hike with Chris through the beautiful nature of the Usambara Mountains to the MamboViewPoint was another highlight.
At the end we explored the mainland coast to Dar es Salaam and Pemba on our own. We just wanted to see something other than Zanzibar and we were richly rewarded.
Highly recommended.
