Excellent service, provided driver and guide for 8 trips over 2 weeks around Nairobi and Naivasha
I had a group of 7 friends from Europe visiting Kenya for 2 two weeks. We spent one week in Naivasha and one week in Nairobi, doing a range of trips:
- Naivasha: Hells Gate, Elementeita Lake, Elsamere, Crater Lake
- Nairobi: Njgong Hills, Karen Blixen, Two rivers, Giraffe Centre, Carnivore + night out, drop off at airport.
African Skimmer Safaris provided great transport with appropriate bus or Landcruiser, comfortable, with competent, cheerful and careful drivers, good guide for the Nairobi park. Always on time, always in a great mood. Flexible also, could change the program with a day notice. Bus clean and comfortable, and just right for the group, so divided over the group we got a very good value for money.
Highly recommended.

Nick at African Skimmer Safaris is the best and most professional guide I have used. He is exceptionally skilled in his knowledge of wildlife and how best and when to see them. Nick is very hands on when planning your Kenyan safari but can also facilitate trips to the beautiful Kenyan coast and also a guided climb up Mount Kenya. Personable, informative, interactive and all round fun.
We had the best outing, myself and a crew other friends. We had an amazing time first at Nairobi national park, where we were able to do a short but quite interesting outing with the friends that had a quick layover in Nairobi. Had an early start of 6am from the hotel where they pick you up, coffee plus all the updates on the day’s activities. What can I say?, I could write all day, but AfricanSkimmers are just that, they will skim through the troughs to make sure you witness all the magic the safari has to offer. Professional and Well Organized Tour Company in Kenya, Highly Recommended
I reached out by email to African Skimmer Safaris. Nick responded to my email within 24 hours of it being sent. I explained that I was a photographer and which parks I wanted to visit. We talked about the number of days and my budget. He then sent me a customized itinerary based on what animals I wanted to see and photograph, my budget and number of days. I was able to communicate all of this through email.
I was met by the driver/guide at the Nairobi airport and driven to my hotel for the night. My driver/guide was with me until I was safely dropped off at the Nairobi airport at the end of my safari.
Everyday my driver/guide did his best to find the animals that I really wanted to see and photograph. From day one there wasn’t a single game drive that we didn’t find amazing animal sighting. Some game drives were more successful than others, but it’s good to remember that no animal sightings are guaranteed, but my driver/guide did his best to find the animals that I wanted to see. My driver/guide talked to other drivers to get information about animal sighting, locations, etc. He was not only great at finding animal sighting he was also very informative about local flora and fauna, and the history of Kenya. He answered all my questions during the safari. Nick, in the office, always kept in contact with the driver/guide throughout my entire safari to make sure there were no problems.
I highly recommend African Skimmer Safaris as your local tour operator in Kenya. Nick is fluent in English and communication is never an issue. Nick listened to my requirements, budget and planned an itinerary with options of my choosing.

Extremely knowledgable about culture and wildlife
The guide was excellent. African Skimmer provided a suggested itinerary and a couple possibilities on lodging for each location, which was helpful. Ultimately we used Trip Advisor to pick from the options and that worked well. But, overall, the guide is really important and African Skimmer was outstanding here.
