Amazing experience
5/5

The landscapes were just breathtaking and the experience itself is just incredible, a must to do in one life, I recommend Suricata 100%. We were lucky to see the big five. The food and the accomodations were nice, well equipped even though the it was quite cold in the last night, so take something warm for your last night and do not forget your camera and binoculars. Big Up to Bryson our driver guide #JamboBwana

Professional and well organized! Great company
5/5

We had a great experience with Suricata Safaris.
The first day we did a city tour with Swaleh and John, they were great and really enthusiastic about their job! Showed us the best places in Arusha and we had a delicious dinner together. The ride in the tuktuk was so much fun and they even helped us renting the things we needed for the next days!

The day after we started the safari with our guide/driver Elis who was really prepared and explained us everything about the animals we met, and our chef Salim who’s the best cook and funnier guy ever!
On our last day our guide was Golden and we loved him!! So professional and kind, even brought us to the snake park and the masai museum.

I’d def recommend this company for your next safari in Tanzania!

Best Safari of Tanzania
5/5

Amazing trip with Suricata Safari. After pick up from the airport, we started our travel in Tanzania with a city tour of Arusha with two fantastic guides, Swaleh and John who brought us all around the city and to the Masai market ane Spice market.
On the second day, after being picked up from our hotel, we joined the other 4 people of our jeep (which can keep 6 people in total) and we started the safari with the Serengeti park with the amazing guide/driver Elis and the best cooker Salim. After a night in the campsite (equipped with all stuff you need, tents, mattres, sleeping bag, pillow, washrooms, open kitchen, dining room) we moved to Ngorongoro park where we slept in another campsite. The third day we went to Ngorongoro crater and then back to Twiga campsite. The last day we spent the day in Tarangire park with a new guide, the amazing Golden who brought us alao in the Snake Park on our way to Arusha.

Very positive experience, well reccomended!

Well organized
5/5

We were very lucky and saw the Big Five with our guide Louis!!! He was friendly and answered every question. He also had a great sense of our wants and needs.
The food was outstanding and we can recommend Suricata. The nights in the tent are sometimes very cold.

Knowledgeable and well-organised
5/5

We had an excellent time with Suricata. Frederick, our guide, was very generous with his time and knowledge. The various parks we went through (Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti, Ngorogoro Crater) all had different landscapes and attractions including a huge range of wildlife so it felt like the 5 days were used really well.

Accommodations were also of very high quality. We booked a mid-range package and were impressed by the quality of the rooms, food, etc.

Friendly and knowledgeable
5/5

We completed the five day mid range safari and had a fantastic time. Plenty of time in each national park with our guide Frederick who was very friendly and forthcoming with knowledge of the animals and ecosystems. He was committed to tracking animals on the radio to find good opportunities for viewing, and was also incredible at spotting animals seemingly out of nowhere. He also made a very convincing argument that hyenas are one of the best animals on safari. We never felt hungry as meals were hearty and good quality, there was also plenty of drinking water available.

Responds fast and does an amazing job!
5/5

My first ever bucket list accomplishment was made possible by Suricata Safaris. They are the one and only company you need to trust with your safari.

I opted for the lodging over the camping because of my back injury. For one, Tulia Boutique is nice but still needs some work. (For instance, my first room had a bathroom that was leaking ever so slowly and the bed felt moist from a quick sanitizing spray, is what I would like to think it was.) 3rd night was spent at Angata Tented Lodges and that was a nice experience out in the Serengeti. 4th night was spent in the Rhino lodge which was good, but needs some improvements as well. (The dining area is NICE. The hot water is shared between adjoining rooms. I found a cockroach in my shoe in the morning which was a.. surprise to say the least.) The 2nd and last nights were spent in their exclusive Suricata Boma Lodge which will bump the price up quite significantly when it is fully open to guests who book with them. (For me, it was almost like a test run.) I got a whole bungaloo to myself. It felt like a honeymoon paradise on Lake Manyara. Just. Absolutely. Stunning.

Our tour guide was Golden, who was just amazing. He was always on the lookout and was full of knowledge. Throughout the entire trip, we would be with a huge group watching a lion or even a hunt. But then Golden would deviate from that group and take us to somewhere else, which at first we found questionable. But man, we learned really quick to trust this guy. We had SOOO many encounters with the wildlife that it is hard to write about it all. He was so knowledgeable and so electrifying with the way he explained everything. My top 3 experiences in order is 1. Seeing an alpha male lion on top of the rocks not even 15 meters away. 2. Me spotting a rhino in the crater and 3. Seeing a lioness in the middle of her hunt. All were made possible by Golden.

Moussa is a gem. He is the cook that will follow you around, especially if you are camping. He concocts these dishes that, quite frankly, beat the lodge in terms of taste. Everything was so good despite the limitations he had with carrying equipment and cooking in camp site spots. (Please. Buy him a beer or two whenever he is cooking) While other companies gave their tourists and safari goers boxed lunches, we always had a hot lunch with us with things like rice, chicken, veggies, etc.

Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro Crater are the only necessary spots you need to go to. Unless you feel compelled to be alone, please join a group or go with friends. It makes the experiences so much better and I thoroughly enjoyed the random group I became friends with over the time. You roll the dice with the group, as I was the only one lodging and 5 of the group camped. But even the time driving in the car was so much fun and exciting.

I highly recommend Suricata. They made the experience go from excellent to stellar. If I come back.. or better yet, when I come back, I will be sure to book with this company again.

Overall, the adventure went well. In detail, we saw wild animals - that's why we went to Tanzania in the first place - and sometimes they were so close... right next to the jeep's front wheel OMG. We had Mister T, Lewis, Silas as our guides and Piu as a chef in Ngorongoro. On the first day of the safari, the jeep had issues when it exceeded 35 km/h, and we lost a few hours trying to fix it at a Mad Max-style service center :). The response was that it could be repaired if taken elsewhere for a part, and all of us in the group chose to continue using it as it was. On the second day, a different jeep, a different guide, and a different group: this time, the gearbox broke down right before entering the park, before the ticket gate. After a few phone calls done by Silas, we were told that it would be fixed in an hour. After an hour, we were told it would take another 2 hours. After the first hour of the two, we were informed that we would receive a replacement vehicle around 3 - 4:30 pm. After a while, Silas managed to persuade another driver (just entering the park) from a different company to take each of us to our respective accommodations - we drove for 6 hours with only a few stops because it was already getting dark, and the driver didn't have time to return back safely. The vehicles were not properly checked, which posed risks (what if we were already near the group of relaxed lions we photographed next to the front wheel? What if the vehicle didn't start? I'm sure Silas would have found solutions, but I would have preferred not to have these worries :). The first night of accommodation was at Boma Lodge - excellent lodging and food. The second night was at An'gata Lodge - MASH-style tents, a dedicated team - we were escorted to and from the tents by a team member using walkie-talkies; good food. The third night was at a camping tent, and the toilet/shower area needs improvements. Good food cooked by Piu. During the night we were visited by zebras OMG :) I'm glad that, overall, the safari was a success. We took memorable photos/videos and returned safely, with no unpleasant incidents regarding food. I can recommend improvements in communication between guides and tourists AND regular technical checks of the vehicles. Regarding tips, I agree with it up to the point where there is so much pressure that it can be believed that salaries are not paid from the money tourists pay for the safari (and it's not a small amount), and guides rely solely on tips. I hope that is not the case.

Journey of a lifetime
5/5

We had the most wonderful time, beyond our dreams!
We we’re picked up at the airport, rested at a hotel nearby and on the next day met our guide, Rocky, who made it all sooooo very special.
A five day tour allowed us to see so many beautiful animals, each park with its own charm. all the tented camps were amazingly comfortable, and delicious food.
