Organized and well prepared for the Safari.
I completed a 4-day safari from September 23–27, and it was an incredible experience. Our guide, Jordan, was exceptionally knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna. Unlike some other operators, he showed immense respect for the ecosystem. Clear communication, great value, and excellent camping facilities. Special thanks to the crew and chef for always setting up our tents ahead of time!

The best safari in Tanzania
We have the best experience in Tanzania doing our safari, the places, the organization the meals, everything was perfect but the best thing is was our guide Jordan, he was a nice guide driving, looking and searching everything for us. We’ve seen the big fives and many others animals.

Everything went smoothly, thank you Steve!
Steve was an excellent guide! He was very knowledgeable and had a lot of stories and jokes to tell during the long driving days and made time fly. He prioritized finding animals we hadn't seen yet to make sure we would get the full experience. The highlight was seeing 6 rhinos in the crater on our last day thanks to Steve's timing and persistence!
On the first night we landed late in Kilimanjaro and found the driver easily at the airport and got to our hotel smoothly. Then we accidentally overslept due to our own bad planning and 3hr turnaround but the guides knocked to wake us up and didnt rush us, made sure we had food in our bellies and didnt make us feel too bad for delaying, which we really appreciated. The rest of the trip was like that - any hiccups were easily sorted and fixed, like the hot air balloon company was not clear but Steve figured out our booking on the fly, and the logistics of many groups going in different directions seems crazy but they managed everyone's different itineraries perfectly. I was not sure what to expect from booking something like this online from abroad but everything worked out amazing!
Otherwise, our guide Steve also helped us with coordinating logistics and finding the best prices and always could find us a washroom easily when needed. The tents and camp were comfortable and even on honeymoon it was a lot of fun and a great experience. We enjoyed the hot air balloon and enjoyed delicious home cooking from Sampson every day. All in all we had a blast!

Steve makes the difference
My safari was made by my guide and driver, Steve: knowledgeable, patient and great company. He brought the wildlife to life and also shared real insights into Tanzanian culture, daily life. Long, dusty drives became enjoyable thanks to his storytelling.
That said, my high rating is mainly for him. Mixing very different accommodation categories in the same vehicle created space issues and meant extra waiting time in camps instead of enjoying the parks. Fortunately, the group was very friendly, which made the safari very pleasant.
I stayed in great lodges like Tanzania Bush Camp in the Serengeti, but given the big price gap other agencies may suit non-tent bookings better.
So for tented camps, this setup is perfect and overall, I’d still recommend the tour with Steve.

Perfectly organized, most friendly staff
Steve was a great guide and driver. He not only thought us so many things about the animals but also about Tanzania’s culture, politics and its people. Although the drive to and from Serengeti was very long, dusty and bumpy we enjoyed chatting with Steve throughout. Our chef Samson prepared the most delicious meals for us. Would highly recommend it!

Fast
Melita made sure we saw a great variety of animals on our first day of safari in the Serengeti. He is an excellent driver and manages to get to the best spots very quickly, especially considering how bumpy the roads can be!
The public campsite in the Serengeti where we stayed did not have hot water and was not particularly clean, but it was good enough to wash off all the sand and dust after the day.
The tents provided by Suricata Safaris were spacious and very comfortable, and our chef prepared delicious lunch, dinner and breakfast.
Overall, we are very satisfied with our first day with Suricata Safaris and are looking forward to the rest of the safari!
