The Suricata dream team made this the most unforgettable experience!
Wow what an unforgettable experience! I booked my six day private safari with Suricata Safaris online and I can say that when I come back with the rest of my family I will 100% be booking with them again.
So where to start, first off Chuke, what an absolute legend of a guy. I arrived in Arusha a day early and asked Suricata what I could do around town and they immediately organised Chuke to meet me the next day for a full tour of Arusha and also to fulfil a request of mine to donate to a local organisation in need. I’ve travelled personally to around 40 countries and Chuke is the best host I’ve ever had for a city tour. We spent a good part of the day helping a local childcare as I’d requested, which was amazing, and also we toured the city by car and on foot through markets, met a lot of locals and friends he knew personally that really added to the experience, had lunch at his favourite restaurant, this was a personal tour, not just your typical commercial style. Through a Chuke’s connections we even finished the day with a special rooftop view of Arusha that I can guarantee is not on any other tour’s list…Chuke was then my briefer for the Safari due to start the next day and just made the whole experience super smooth. There were no hidden catches or fees like happens so often, just exactly as described, which I loved. (And when I returned back from my safari Chuke was there at my hotel waiting, with a huge smile and a hug. He then made sure I was all sorted and my airport transfer (included) was setup as it needed to be. Honestly I didn’t need to worry about a thing).
The first morning of my Safari I was greeted with a warm smile at my hotel by my guide for the next six days ‘Golden’. When you’re travelling solo having a good rapport with your guide is so crucial and I knew straight away that this wasn’t going to be an issue. First stop was Tarangire National Park which was epic and so well worth it. Golden knew all the best spots, often taking me locations not frequented by the other jeeps to find ‘hidden treasures’ of the park. (This continued all week).
Along the way to Serengeti we picked up our personal chef for the six days Jeremiah (yes I was very spoilt!). Over the next six days he produced restaurant quality three course meals breakfast lunch and dinner on his own that simply blew my mind. He even baked fresh bread over charcoal morning and night, the food was so so good I made him give me some recipes to take home. It was a bit of a running joke that other tour guides didn’t want to sit their clients next to us at the picnic lunch spots because while they had their cardboard boxed lunches, we had three course restaurant quality! The other guides didn’t want their clients asking why they didn’t have what we had!
Once we got to Serengeti we were lucky to have three nights four days to really experience the park. Like Golden said, many people come to Serengeti, but very few really experience what it has to offer. We drove far and wide, away from the hustle of central Serengeti and man did it pay its rewards. We saw the ‘big five’ but so so much more. Countless up close and personal experiences with lions, and also Cheetahs and Leopards (and everything else) that can’t be found without an extremely knowledgeable guide. I have absolutely no doubt that this experience would not have been what it was if I didn’t have Golden as my guide. If you’re going Suricata, you want Golden. Trust me.
On my last day in Ngogorogoro Crater, everyone was on the hunt for a Rhino when we arrived in the morning, no guides had found one. Golden drove us straight to a location and within a minute found two rhinos, the only sighting that day and soon enough we were surrounded by a dozen cars all asking where to see them. Very cool to be in that team.
On my way home I’d even shown an interest in purchasing Tanzanite and Golden personally took me into Arusha in his own time to make sure I didn’t get ripped off and got a good deal.
It was genuinely a sad day saying goodbye to Chuke, Golden and Jeremiah. I don’t normally write reviews but I just had such a great experience with these guys that I felt it needed it, and also I know how hard/scary it can be booking online from overseas when you have no idea what the company is like. I’ve just done that work for you.
And also the value for money was exceptional in my opinion. Others I met couldn’t believe the great price I paid compared to them and they didn’t get the perks I did!
Suricata all the way. Thank me later.
Asante sana - Suricata - best experience ever!!!
We booked a 5-day tour with Suricata, and first and foremost, a huge shout-out to our guide Lewis💪, who went above and beyond to make this trip an incredible experience. Lewis knows all the national parks very well—we visited Tarangire, Lake Manyara, the Serengeti, and the Ngorongoro Crater with him. He is an excellent and experienced driver and guide, and we never felt unsafe! Lewis did everything he could to bring us closer to his country, especially its nature—we saw the "Big Five" of Africa with him, and much more beyond that. Asante sana, Lewis!
Communication with Suricata was absolutely transparent, professional, and smooth from the planning stage. They organized the transport from the airport, and we were able to express our preferences for tour routes and hotel selections beforehand.
Another highlight was staying at Suricata’s Boma Lodge, beautifully located at Lake Manyara. All the staff there were amazing and very helpful.
You can tell that the entire Suricata team does their work with great joy and passion, especially among the guides, who have a wonderful friendship — many greetings to Lewis, Amiri, Mandela, Daniel, and Mr. T!
Staying in the tented lodges was a true adventure for us; nowhere else can you experience nature more authentically!

Fantastic !!!
Everything was good! From the pick up from Arusha airport to leave 🥲 Arusha !
The first mention for the first beefiest with Daniel, really useful to understand better the situation, what being with us and what “directions” follow during the stay.
The Suricata lodge in front of lake Maniara is a really high level with a very kind and friendly staff!
Our driver for first day was Mandala and he is a really nice guy with a big knowledge of the animals! The other driver, our Guy, Mr. Max is an excellent and friendly pilot . A note to thanks him, when the battery stopped to work in the middle of Ngorongoro Park, he immediately repaired it! Great!!!
Another positive note for the chef, he cooked for us a lot of good dishes during our 4 lunches, mixed traditional food with also pasta 🍝 and pizza 🍕 🇮🇹.
One of the Best night in my life in the lodge in the middle of Serengeti.. what a night!
Thank you guys… SURICATA FOREVER!

Amazing adventure in real africa
4 days adventure in the 3 major park of tanzania. Me and my girlfriend foud a really nice group of 30 yo guys. In total we were 6 in the safari car + the driver/guide with years of experience. He can answer to every question about animals and nature.
The 3 nights in camping were an adventure in the middle of tanzanian parks. You could find a zebra outside the tend. A chef will cook different fresh meals everyday lunch dinner and breakfast. You will find your tend ready every night.
We saw all the major animals from a very near view.
At the end of the adventure we come back with a lot of fantastic experience and new friends.

If I could give you one advice for your Tansania-Trip: Do a safari with Suricata!
My husband and I planed our trip very last minute (10 days ahead). But Suricata offered us a trip that surpassed all our expectations. Tanzania offers an amazing culture and nature and the Suricata team helps you to experience and enjoy it to the fullest!
You can look forward to breathtaking views, a guide with rich knowledge about wildlife and Tanzania, delicious and selfcooked food from the Suricata chefs and an all-in-all worry-free package, while you can lay back and enjoy the trip of your lifetime :)

Professional,friendly and overall confidence inspiring.
Suricata’s team proved to be both friendly professional and competent. Finding ourselves with the time go on a Safari at the last minute in country they reacted quickly.
Ally the tour manager met us at our convenience and immediately inspired confidence giving us time and the information needed to chose the right safari for us and a day trip too.
We chose a 4 day private trip to cover Taringere, Serengeti and Ngorogoro , 2 days camping and a first night at their lake Manyara lodge.
Ally kept in touch prior to the tour and we were picked up promptly from our hotel by our guide Baraka who proved to be a great companion. With 6 years experience behind hiim , this showed with his competent driving and knowledge of wildlife, spotting what we could never have found.
The hotel proved to be very luxurious but fun with amazing entertainment from a local acrobatic troupe and an energetic post dinner sing song from the staff - great !
The camping obviously more down to earth but an experience to sleep with the sounds of the wild night. Zebra wandering through the site and giraffe and buffalo on the margins. Tents were prepared and meals cooked for us on site including the preparation of a hot lunch every day ! Lucas cooked for us and I don’t know how he managed to get so much done behind the scenes. A lot of hard work goes on that you don’t see to keep things right.
We had not planned to be on Safari this year but events conspired to give us the chance so no real pre-conceptions. To be honest the magnificence and variety of the parks alone would be enough but the abundance and variety of wildlife takes it to another level.
We saw the big five but that didn’t really matter it was the variety and complexity of encounters and plain amazing how close you could be.
Highlights for me were watching the reaction of a cheetah as it spotted a lion in the vicinity of itself and cub. It decided to lay low as the pack remained intent on the warthog they were tracking and in the end failed to catch in the final chase. Later Barak somehow spotted a black rhino in the long distance and we were able to see it trot along meeting couple of big male elephants as if out for a jaunt, amazing.
So overall a trip we’ll never forget, we will come back for more and will recommend Suricata to friends and family.
