Outstanding!
We are a family of 5 adults, living in 3 different countries. Always complicated to organise a holiday together!
I couldn’t ask better for our first Safari in Kenya!
Jorge tailor made our itinerary based on the requirements, in a very efficient and fast way. I always received a prompt reply.
We did 8 days tour in Kenya, visiting Amboseli, lake Naivasha, lake Nakuru, and Masai Mara.
We had and incredible tour guide/driver, George (Kenyan name Waiganju), able to show all the possible animals around, also in very specific spots not known by the other guides around!
On the top of that, he is a super safe driver. Also inside the parks.
His presence made the difference in during our safari.
If you are looking for an extra-ordinary journey to Kenya, I really recommend Spirit of Kenya. If you will have the lucky to have George with you, well, he will be the ice on the cake!

Great first time in Naivasha, Nakuru and Masai Mara
I planned this trip as a gift to my niece (10 years old). We were four people: myself (53 years old), my sister (49 years old), my niece and my daughter (15 years old). Prior to to the trip, Vanessa (at the main office of Spirit of Kenya) was fantastic, responding to my emails very quickly and being sure everything was ready for us. Once on site, our driver Erasti (Ras) was very attentive and took a great care of us. He made sure the girls were comfortable and safe and that was very important to me. We were in Lake Naivasha, Nakuru and Masai Mara for a total of 5 days. We saw elephants, rhinos, giraffes, zebras, lions, cheetahs, gazelles, hippos, wildebeest, crocodiles, African buffalo, antelopes, ostriches.

Playing stuck-in-the-mud
My family and I just returned from the Taste Of Kenya trip - a phenomenal experience that left us wanting more. We were fortunate to have Johnstone Kioko our designated driver and tour guide. Johnstone obviously has a vast understanding of the region, its wildlife migratory patterns and the reason why human communities and wildlife are able to peacefully coexist. As a result, we were blessed to track lion prides and rhino crashes in Lake Nakuru, elephant herds in Masai Mara and cheetah sightings near our Losokwan camp.
However, an unforgettable experience was playing stuck-in-the-mud with a male lion and its fresh kill. Whilst viewing this majestic male lion after feeding off its kill, our vehicle was rendered immobile, stuck in sticky mud and deep bush. Sunset in the Masai Mara was quickly approaching and we were obviously concerned about being in such a vulnerable position and in the dark of the night Mara sky. However, Johnstone reassured us and remained calm and jovial, confident that everything will work out. We were terribly concerned to see him jump off our vehicle, and attach a tow cable to another tourist vehicle. Although this resulted in our release from a very sticky situation, it did place Johnstone in a very precarious situation with a wild animal stationed only a few meters away. A very brave act from a true and genuine person.
The Taste Of Kenya trip not only provided us with an opportunity to admire Kenya's natural beauty and wildlife, but it also allowed us to nurture friendships with people in both Lake Nakuru and the Masai Mara. It was truly a privilege visiting Kenya, meeting her people and admiring the conservation efforts put in place to protect wildlife and their habitats.
If I were to suggest two points that should be considered, it will be the following:
1. All tour guides should be supported with 4x4 vehicles that are best suited for this terrain, and
2. An unspoken code of ethics should apply to all tour vehicles and tour guides regarding offering assistance to vehicles in need. The first on-site vehicle should be obligated to remain in close proximity to the compromised vehicle, until such time a rescue mission has been deemed successful.
Asanta SOK, Asante sana Johnstone Kioko

Communicative, Personable, and Overall Amazing
We took a 5 day private tour with Spirit of Kenya and cannot recommend it enough to everyone. I would 100% recommend this company, and if you want the best guide be sure to request Tom. From the beginning you receive great communication and can personalize what you are interested in seeing. Vanessa walked us through all of the choices as well as informing us of the hotels we would be staying at. We truly could not believe the price for what great quality we received. Our guide was kind, personable, knew when to let us rest and when to chat, and knew everything about the animals, parks, and Kenya. We cannot thank Tom enough for how amazing our experience was. During the drives we could let him know what we were hoping to see and he'd be sure to make it happen, every time. Do not hesitate to book with Spirit of Kenya, you will absolutely love it.

Unique!
Amazing experience from the beginning until the end... A major thank you to Vanessa (Reservations team), Moses (Transfers) and Karasha (Tour Driver). A unique experience provided by the "Spirit of Kenya" agency. Karasha was an outstanding driver and most of all, a great company to enjoy the experience with: the stories, the advices, the guidance and the experience sharing.
Definitely one of the most meaningful experiences of our lives, made possible by all of you :)

Excellent & friendly service
My husband and I went to kenya for our honeymoon and we stayed at &beyond kichwa tembo tented camp. Our tour operator Spirit of kenya, André had been such a great help in arranging our tour even though I have switched plans and days of travel over and over again. We met our private guide Sego in maasai upon landing and he welcomed us very warmly and helped us with our bags and proceeded with our tour in maasai.
We also had a one day transit at Nairobi where Ruben picked us at the airport and showed us around Nairobi west for lunch and then back to hotel.
Overall it was an easy enjoyable experience. Thank you to everyone involved that have helped us with this lovely & unforgettable time in Africa.

Exceptional
I don't have any words to express how grateful I am to Andre, and her staff for coordinating such an amazing trip to Kenya. Everything was so well planned and coordinated from beginning to end, and my entire family had a terrific experience. The hotel's management, staff, and ambiance were all excellent. We did not experience any difficulty in getting vegetarian food.
Special thanks to you for choosing Joseph as our tour guide for our trip, he was so patient, so kind, and caring. He is very knowledgeable and could explain to us each and every animal and bird's habitat, lifespan, eating habits, etc. With his help, we could see all the big 5 of Kenya and I am thrilled to inform you that we were the only family to spot all the big 5 at Masai Mara, and most of the tourists were unlucky. Even some of the hotel staff at Mara informed us that though they had gone there several times they could not see the Rhino and on our very first visit we could see very close because of Joseph. He could spot the Rhino with his bear eyes from a distance of 2 kms and took us straight away to that spot. I would highly recommend Joseph to all your clients.
Also, I would like to express my special thanks to Moses who was also very nice and cooperative, and he could arrange tickets for my brother at Shedrick and the Giraffe Center and both of them were very punctual. I am looking forward to having them as my guides on my future trips.
This is not going to be my last conversation with them as I am planning many more trips to Africa with the Spirit of Kenya

The best experience of our lives
I reached out to about 10 companies for quotes. I have always dreamt of going for a high end safari in Africa for my honeymoon but I quickly found out how good Safaris are SO expensive. I almost gave up when Spirit of Kenya created a short 6 itinerary for us, that allowed us to stay within budget while being able to visit 3 different places (Amboseli, Lake Nakuru & Masai Mara) and stay in EXCEPTIONAL accommodation.
Fiona was extremely quick at responding via email to all my questions and from the first moment of booking, we were given a personalized, reliable, kind and trustworthy service.
The suggested accommodations were breathtaking - you could tell that Spirit of Kenya has collaborators that are also kind, tasteful and exceptional.
Our driver Rufus was the kindest, sweetest, most knowledgeable man. He made the whole trip a dream. He truly was the best part of the trip. And thanks to him we, not only saw the Big 5, but also some rare and breathtaking scenes in the savanna. There was A LOT of driving involved in our short trip because we tried to squeeze many different sites in just 6 days. Despite that, Rufus drove an average of 8/9 hours a day making it look and feel enjoyable instead of a chore. He was never intrusive, very respectful and always suggested options and gave advice. He always had a smile on his face and could connect with many locals and other drivers (honestly it seemed he knew half of the Kenyan population!!).
Everything that Spirit of Kenya organized was perfect, the best experience of our lives. If you ask them to organize you a trip within budget, you won't regret it because I am sure they'll come up with the best possible options!
