Trip of a lifetime!
We cannot say enough great things about our experience in Kenya with this tour group. From the very first quick response email and detail to our customized trip, to our guide (John is awesome!), to all the accomodations at different locations and the amazing parks we visited. Pricing is tailored to you. We had so many options to build around our budget which was so nice to not have to have just one limiting package. This group made it so easy to plan and we were very confident arriving in a new country for the first time and being in their hands for our entire safari. We felt very spoiled and truly had the most unique unforgettable experience all the way around. Absolutely exceeded my expectations. We have been on some amazing journeys but do not know how to top this one! We took over 1500 pictures of every beautiful creature you can imagine and then some! We now have several friends wanting to visit Kenya now. And we WILL be back!
Trip of a lifetime dream come true
From my first contact with Vanessa in reservations until we were dropped off at the airport this company was excellent. Vanessa was ever so patient answering my 10000+ questions, she offered choices of parks/accommodation and then suggestions when we went over each of the tented camps/lodges that I chose.
We did a 25 day road trip safari thru Kenya and Tanzania. We had 2 guides, one for each country. I cannot say enough about them. They were professional, knowledgeable, patient and truly interested in us. Their knowledge of the animals made a cheetah kill possible, lions and leopards in trees, lions mating, river crossings, the Big 5 several times, birds, repitiles etc etc. Just when we thought we had seen it all, they would find something else to amaze us. My husband became ill and we thought we would have to come home early. The guide contacted the office who suggested changing from our tented camp to a hotel closer to a hospital in case he needed to see a doctor. We did, at no charge to us. The company absorbed the cost of the hotel. They saved our trip. Every pickup when as planned, all the accommodation was exactly as planned and expected. There were no unpleasant surprises. My husband was not excited about this trip, he went for me. But he would go back in a minute, and we would book with Spirit of Kenya again.

Spirit of Kenya delivers ... from start to finish.
Spirit of Kenya delivers ... from start to finish. My wife and I just finished 3 weeks in Kenya with 12 days of well invested time being with Spirit.
It all starts with their quick, detailed and friendly responses in the planning stage. There is no question they could not answer, no problem they could not solve and no request they could not accommodate.
From the pickup at our hotel in Nairobi, it was nothing but non-stop laughs and informative input about Kenya as a country, the history, the wildlife and the parks themselves with our ace driver Simon. He was like a living breathing version of Wikipedia, and knew boundaries well. He knew when it was time to join in and when it was time to give us space, and the man would simply not rest until he knew we were satisfied and all logistics had been sorted for the following day.
We took on about 7 National Parks / Reserves (Nairobi Park / Elephant Centre / Giraffe Centre / Lake Nakuru / Masai Mara / Lake Naivasha /Hell's Garte / Amboseli / Tsavo West ) and it was worth it to see the variation of landscape and the difference in animals. Simon has this uncanny ability to know where the animals would be before the animals themselves did. We were in a constant state of being surrounded by elephant herds or alongside lion prides. The number of animal crossings we had to wait for were countless. There wasn't a single animal we were hoping to see that we missed out on. He had us parked beneath a tree with sleeping leopard within minutes of entering the Mara. He seems to be mates with every driver in Kenya and this works to his advantage in getting tips where to look for wildlife. Also worthy of mention is how mad some roads in Kenya can be and how smoothly he navigated them - let alone Nairobi and Mombasa traffic. Always felt safe.
We also had a superb time visiting a Masai Village which was a far cry from touristy - this was the real deal- with no harassment or overpriced costs. We learned so much.
The accommodation process itself allows for a lot of choices and more often than not Spirit upon our inquiries pointed us in the direction of cheaper places they they thought would be to our liking. And it all comes with zero pressure. We had no problems with any of our lodges. That and Simon seamlessly timed all game drives with meal and break times. We were never a minute late for anything, did everything and missed nothing. Spirit is the way to go. Would use them again in a heartbeat.

Excellent tour operator! From beginning... Till the end.
It all started with the great costumer service! I had so many questions about planning this trip to Kenya. Vanessa answered all my questions very fast! They want you to feel comfortable with you choices and give you all the information you need.
We are just back from a 15-days trip to Kenya. We booked our 4-days Safari with Spirit of Kenya (Masai Mara national park) and our pick up from and to the airport + flight to Mombassa. Everything was well organized from start to finish. Even when there were changes, they did their very best to solve it and to fulfill your wishes.
Our guide, Josef, was fun and had a lot of knowledge about the animals. I really liked Masai Mara and we saw all the animals (more than once) except the rhinos. When an animal was spotted our guide brought us right away and could always bring us very close!
Even the route from Nairobi to the national park was quite an experience. He was a good driver and I always felt safe.
I love Africa, I love Kenya and this is certainly an experience to never forget!
We highly recommend Spirit of Kenya!
Thank you to make this happen for us.

Reliable agent!
Just coming back, Spirit of Kenya arranged everything perfectly for us ,esp thanks to Susana and Jose who answered my tons of mails with so much patience, and also our guide,George, who reacted so quickly that morning when we asked him to send us to the take off point of hot air balloon safari, which is obviously that the hot air balloon company forgot to take us. Killed some rest hours of George. And he also give us a really near sight of a group of lions. So much thanks. Fantastic experience! Definitely recommend to my friends.

All that we could have hoped for and more.
I would recommend Spirit of Kenya without hesitation. Great communication from the first email enquiry right up to the day of departure. Met by the charming and efficient Moses late in the evening at the airport. Charles was our superb guide for the safari: calm, efficient and knowledgeable. Nothing was too much trouble. Managed to make every safari day special and memorable. I hope to return to beautiful Kenya for another adventure and would definitely rebook with Spirit of Kenya.

Amazing safari experience!
We just returned from an amazing Safari in Kenya and Tanzania. Before booking anything we read many reviews which helped us form our opinion of what to do, where to go and what safari company to choose. Here is a review of our amazing journey and hope this helps anyone making any decisions….
We booked our Safari with Spirit of Kenya and from the very beginning their customer service was excellent. The person in the office replying to our emails, Tiago, was very patient and helpful. He responded to all our emails very quickly and helped us understand the process of booking the Safari very well. Tiago gave us different pricing options and explained everything in detail every step of the way while tailoring the safari to our needs. This service was one of the main reasons why we chose Spirit of Kenya from among other Safari Operators. Although we booked everything with Spirit of Kenya, the safari in Tanzania’s side was taken care of by Soul of Tanzania.
Our first part of the Safari was in Kenya and we had Stephen who was our guide and game driver. Stephen was very experienced, knowledgeable, careful driver and took good care of us. We did the Kenya part in a 4x4 minivan which was good but maybe in hindsight we should have upgraded for a 4x4 Land Cruiser as the minivan could not go everywhere due to the limitations of the vehicle and very muddy roads. This was only a small issue and Stephen still managed to drive us around in Masai Mara and see many animals up close. The tented accommodation, Julia’s River Camp, was very good and the staff were very welcoming, attentive and helpful! The food with Spirit of Kenya was good and we enjoyed our picnic in the bush!
Next we needed to cross the border and start our journey in Tanzania. Be prepared for a very long and tiring drive!
In Tanzania and we visited Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. When we crossed the border we were greeted by Vincent who was our guide for the next part of the journey. Vincent was a great guide who drove us around in a very good 4x4 Land Cruiser (which was a great upgrade from the 4x4 Minivan - This also included a socket for charging our cameras and phones). Vincent was very sharp, adventurous and had hawk-like-eyes who could spot the smallest animal from miles away! We also had a few laughs together when we took a series of photographs with him on Christmas day in the middle of Serengeti Park!
In Serengeti we saw many animals and were much more abundant from what we saw in Masai Mara. This could be due to the time of the year we visited these parks. There were days were we saw up to 20 lions in one day! On our last day we went to Ngoronoro and visited the crater where we saw plenty of animals in the most beautiful surroundings!
In Serengeti we stayed at Pumzika Tented Camps which had a beautiful setting and beautiful tents. Their hospitality was also very good and friendly. In Serengeti we spent full days out and Soul of Tanzania provided us with hot lunches, including fruit, wine and coffee!!
At Ngorongoro we stayed at Rhino Lodge which was a basic and decent lodge. We somehow prefered the tented camps as these were more adventurous, however at Ngorongro the climate was very cold so we appreciated sleeping at a permanent lodge.
At the end of our safari Vincent drove us (a long drive!) to Arusha were we finished our safari and Soul of Tanzania also provided us with a complimentary airport transfer 2 days later.
We are very happy to have experienced this special part of the world with Spirit of Kenya and Soul of Tanzania! We managed to see hundreds of animals including the Big 5 on many occasions! Thank you all for making this experience such an unforgettable special one and for making new friends along the way!
