Choose This Safari Tour Company!
5/5

Wilderness Horizon Safaris was exceptional in their customer service and their communication from the first email I sent to the last day of our safari. David was an amazing host, guide and driver - and became like family by the end of our time together. Evelyn was our cook and she did an amazing job - and anticipated every possible need we had. Paizan was our tracker and other driver and this guy knows his stuff. Spending the weekend with this crew was like meeting up with old friends - they were lovely, knowledgable, helpful and tonnes of fun. If you are looking for a great safari with a fabulous team of people who care for you and know their stuff, choose this safari. The camp/lodge was beautiful, right on the banks of the Lower Zambezi River. It was an amazing weekend and worth every penny.

Wonderful Safari Experience in Lower Zambezi National Park
5/5

Had the opportunity to do a weekend safari about a month ago. After much prayer and searching, we were led to Wilderness Horizons and a safari in the Lower Zambezi National Park. The experience was amazing!! Price was all-inclusive and actually included more than we expected! We did not arrive until fairly late Friday evening but the next 1 1/2 days were packed. A 9-10 hour game drive the next day - seeing zebra, loads of elephants, cape buffalo, hippos, crocodiles, hyena, warthogs, many many varieties and numbers of antelope (kudus, waterbuck, impala, etc), leopard (in a thicket enjoying an impala kill - difficult, but possible to see!). The game drive was followed by a river cruise in the late afternoon with an opportunity to fish for Tiger fish, enjoying views of elephants and hippos on the banks of the river; then a night drive which was beautiful. The next day included a morning game drive (about five hours) during which our guide and tracker hunted for lion - tracks were followed but finally led to a private camp. The whole experience was incredible - every need was taken care of; the food was amazing - and we were either eating meals or snacks at least five times per day! David was a very knowledgeable guide, personable, full of stories, doing whatever was needed to make this a wonderful safari. Paisan was picked up in a village and he was our expert tracker and also driver - he just seemed to have a sense of where to look for tracks and then animals! Evelyn accompanied us everywhere - arranging food that was brought along, making sure we had everything we might want. We were the only ones in the camp - but we were treated as royalty! Never needed to wait; food always ready and more than enough and wonderfully prepared! Cannot say enough "good" about this team and their efforts in making this a wonderful experience. Thank you!

Very professional and great value for money
5/5

We booked with this local safari company for a trip to Lower Zambezi and Kafue National Parks. Our guide David was such a friendly guy who was so passionate about the animals and environment. It was a real pleasure to spend time with him. Our accommodation at Lower Zambezi Safari Lodge and Pinnon Lodge were clean and comfortable and all the meals prepared by the Wilderness Horizons team were top notch. Their practice of setting up picnic lunches in the park was a great treat. We saw so many animals with the help of David and our driver Pizon, great memories to remind us of a special trip.
We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this company for their professionalism and value for money and we’ll be using them again on our next Zambian trip.

Exceeded all expectations!
5/5

After searching the internet for a few weeks I came across a short safari from Wilderness Horizon. Communication was quick, friendly and efficient. I feel pricing was more than fair!
Our guide David met us at our hotel in Lusaka with the other David :) and transported us very safely to the Lower Zambezi National Park. After a quick snack and time to unpack in our beautiful chalets we went on an afternoon/evening drive. It was amazing and we saw so many animals. Elephants, lions, wild dogs, impala, a mama lion with her tiny cubs… David was great at finding the animals and so knowledgeable about them all. We came back to the chalets and had an wonderful meal! The chef for our safari cooked great meals the entire trip!
Our accommodations were fantastic and we all slept soundly and comfortably at night. The next day we went on a long game drive and saw so much more. From Lions, to a cheetah and it’s kill (hidden in the thicket) to beautiful birds and everything in between. Absolutely incredible.
Our last morning there we went on a river cruise to an island for lunch. So neat to be having lunch with elephants in the distance and to be boating with schools of hippos alongside the boat.
I would definitely recommend David and his team at Wilderness Horizon Safaris! You won’t be disappointed

Brilliant Safari to South Luangwa, Zambia
5/5

Eva at Wilderness Horizon Safaris arranged the trip brilliantly, Bornface the manager at Mopani lodge has a fantastic lodge complex, which is extremely well managed with amazing staff, the location of the lodges are on the banks of the Luangwa river in a stunning location. The guide named Brian for the Safari is one of the top guides in the whole of the South Luangwa National Park, and was extremely knowledgable and knew exactly the best places to find the most amazing wildlife in the South Luangwa National Park. Incredible experience and would highly recommend Mopani as a top lodge, if you want the most incredible Safari experience in Zambia.

A super friendly, remote and luxurious encounter with wildlife in a beautiful environment
5/5

Our safari to Lower Zambezi National Park organized by Wilderness Horizon Safaris was an unforgettable experience!

Eva supported us with finding the most suited package for our wishes. She also supported with organizing the payment, which is reliable (for all foreigners being a bit hesitant to send a sum of money to a Zambian account ;) ) and worked well.

Our guide David was both extremely knowledgeable and hospitable. He was able to search the tracks to see a variety of beautiful animals in their natural environment. Supported by the chef he also aranged several delicious picknicks in the park. The landscape of the park is so beautiful and diverse, changing constantly in appearance. It feels relatively remote, which adds to the adventurous experience of being truly deep in the wilderness. Add elephants, hippos, impalas, crocodiles and lions to the mix and you won't believe your eyes. We were even lucky enough to encounter the wild dogs.

The lodge makes you feel completely at home, very comfortable (we concluded best bed in the world) and with a staff that goes the extra mile in everything they do. Don't forget to put off the lights at night, the view on the milky way is stunning.

Basically, we were sad to leave. Everyone interested in a safari, we would definitely recommend to book via Wilderness Horizon Safaris!

Very professional and reliable company. Perfect organization and services. They booked everything for us, including domestic flights. We visited Lower Zambesi, Kafue and South Luangwa parks, and the Victoria Falls at the end. We were constantly in touch with Eva of the agency, and always supported for the entire duration of the tour.
Nice lodges, particularly Mopani Lodge.

Good value for money.

A once in a lifetime experience with a team that felt like family
5/5

My husband and I had the distinct pleasure of traveling with Wilderness Horizon Safaris in Zambia this August. Like many tourists, we faced a little bit of sticker shock with the cost of safaris in Zambia, but truly, this experience was worth EVERY PENNY (and was a bargain compared to other operators). If you're wavering on whether or not to book with them, please take my word that you 100% should confirm your trip - you won't regret it. The communication to set up the experience was prompt and detailed. Eva did a great job at talking me through all of my options and guiding me on the best transportation to plan. And then, beginning with when our wonderful driver David picked us up, everything ran perfectly. Sacred, the chef, created culinary masterpieces at every meal and was adept at navigating our dietary restrictions. Our guides, Isaac and Peter, were so knowledgeable about all wildlife and the history of the area/park.

Lower Zambezi is a magical place. If you're used to busy parks packed with tourists like Krueger, you will be pleasantly shocked with the experience at Lower Zambezi. Often, we were the only vehicle in sight, and the most crowded it ever got was 2-3 vehicles at a time in the late afternoons. The guides are masterful at exploring quiet crannies of the park and they harbor such a respect for the wildlife there. While we saw incredible wildlife (well beyond anything we expected!) honestly, the highlight for me was the Wilderness Horizon Team. They felt like family by the end! Such kind, gracious people all passionate and so skilled at what they do. I truly cannot recommend this experience enough and look forward to an opportunity to travel with them again. If I could give them a 10/5 I would.

This company earned our sincere appreciation!
5/5

We used Wilderness Horizon for a recent trip to Zambia. We absolutely loved it! The arrangements were, with one slight exception, superb. The slight exception was the lodge chosen for our visit to Lower Zambezi as it was quite a distance from the park entrance and in slightly shabby shape. On the other hand, the lodge personnel, the guide and the chance to explore the river were all highlights of our trip so we have little to complain about. The lodges chosen for South and North Luangwa were fantastic. Lodge personnel were, without exception, heartwarmingly friendly and helpful. Guides were among the best we’ve ever had in Africa: knowledgeable and dedicated to giving their clients the best possible experience. And, finally, I want to compliment the Wilderness Horizon staff who could not have been batter. We had numerous exchanges with Eva who never failed to respond to inquiries promptly and completely. Daniel, our driver, accompanied us on our first lap and was a complete delight to get to know. I’d give the company a solid A for their work.
