Thank you Wayfairer for working with us and arrange an amazing family holiday.
5/5

Hi, we had all our documents and details sent to us by email and post. All the information we needed was there.
We chose Riverdene lodge for our eastern cape safari. We would recommend this lodge to anyone with children especially under the age of 10. The lodge is beautiful set with only 9 rooms and a children's clubhouse with wall climbing and small zip wires. The children's centre seems almost entirely your child's with never more than a few children there at any one time and a small team exclusively there's to entertain them. The chef was happy to make most food requests. Our ranger Jess was brilliant. It is a really good way to introduce safaris to kids with no need to take antimalarials. Although it is a different experience to the Masa masa or the Serengeti we were pleasantly surprised by this safari experience as it had its' own charm. Thank you for Wayfairer for organising and the team at Riverdene lodge Shamwari for an unforgettable experience especially for our 8 year old.

Complete Tanzanian Tour Package that Exceeded Expectations
5/5

This was the second time I used Wayfairer Travel this year for two amazing African adventures, and I would highly recommend their services in the future. With so many choices of parks, camps, lodges, hotels, etc., it can be a bit overwhelming in trying to research and plan an African safari on your own. Late last year my wife and I were trying to plan a trip to Namibia on our own, with only a few weeks before we planned to leave. I sent out a few inquires through Safari Bookings, and Wayfairer quickly responded, followed by a phone call to find out in more detail the type of trip we were hoping to have. I gave them a budget to work from and the resultant trip blew me away in the quality of the lodges, and the organization of the trip. So when some friends approached us earlier this year, wanting us to join them on an epic adventure to celebrate their 30 year wedding anniversary, I reached out again to Wayfairer Travel to help plan our latest trip.

We ended up visiting Tanzania, with stops in both Selous and Ruaha parks. I was reluctant at first to not visit the more popular parks up north, such as the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, but we were happy to find an abundance of wildlife, great guides, and the feeling that we had the park almost all to ourselves. We followed up a week of safari's with beach time on Mafia Island and Zanzibar. The overall trip was well planned with all the details taken care of. When on our first morning in Dar es Salaam, our ride to the airport didn't show up, we grabbed a taxi to make sure we didn't miss our flight. An email to Wayfairer, and the issue was resolved and the cost of the taxi quickly reimbursed.

Overall, we were all very satisfied by the quality of the trip and the attention to detail that was put into the planning.

The attention to detail and ability without compromise to tailor my holiday to suit was fantastic
5/5

From the start when we first decided to go on a Tanzanian safari and then visit Zanzibar the Wayfairer team asked all the right questions to enable them to build what could rightly so be described as a holiday of a life time even down to the flight transfer waits being minimized.
we decided that we wanted to have a safari in 2 differing areas of selous, the accommodation and people were so friendly and amenable nothing was too much of an issue. we were very fortunate that not only did we have the same guide for the week but were the only ones in the vehicle, it was like a private tour.
on the safaris we saw so much wild life in its natural habit and the knowledge of Alfred our guide extended our knowledge through his knowledge of the differing animals, birds and plants.
then the feet up trip to Zanzibar was lovely, so nice to get into a warm sea rather than the traditional freezer.
great trip thoroughly enjoyed and fully recomended

Wayfairer perfectly managed the best holiday of my life - Very Happy!
5/5

I booked a luxury Holiday to Kenya for my partner and I through Wayfairer and traveled in October 2018

Every part of the experience was tailored to our preferences and made so easy for us!

First we went on a Safari in the Mara North Conservancy at the Saruni Wild camp. This was truly amazing, the camp was really intimate with just 3 tents and the food was excellent. Most Importantly, there was amazing wildlife right on our doorstep.

As this was our first safari we were unsure what to expect but by the end of our first day we were already hooked. On this first day we saw hippo's, elephants, numerous plain game, and spent several hours watching the Lemek Lion Pride (with a comp glass of wine!).

John our guide was Great. He looked after us throughout our Safari and was very friendly and knowledgeable (Clearly very experienced!). During the following few days, we were lucky enough to see almost everything we could hope for leopards, cheetah's, giraffe and many more. We even spent one morning tracking the rare Wild Dogs.

After the safari we traveled to Watamu on the coast and spent 3 days relaxing by the pool and enjoying Hemingway's hotel, which was lovely.
We also ventured out to a local restaurant called the crab shack by tuk tuk - would highly recommend.

Our whole holiday was managed extremely well by wayfairer who were attentive and helpful throughout.

We could not have asked for more, so happy we went!

Time to save up for next time!

We asked them to book a trip of a lifetime and they did!!

We communicated with Wayfairer about our hopes for a trip to Africa. They planned out a trip and with a little back and forth we got exactly what we had hoped and more. They had some great suggestions for things to do and places to stay. The safari was at Lake Manz and was incredible, as was our accommodation at Chole Mjini and in Zanzibar. Over all I would love to travel with Wayfairer again.

Communications were always prompt, service and the offers of help were very good and welcome as it was our first time in Africa. Certainly lived up to expectations. Arranged exactly the holiday that I wanted.

Provides an excellent personal service with care and knowledge at less cost than the big boys
5/5

Wayfairer Travel assembled a fantastic package for us, tailored to meet our own requirements and which exceeded all of our expectations. They work in conjunction with Serena in East Africa, in particular in the Mara and Samburu, who gave s a fabulous time, in the North Mara conservancy, owned by the Masai and so much better than the main (rather overcrowded) main Mara. We can fully recommend their brilliant accommodation at Serena Wild (tented camp, an absolute "must do" in our view) and Serena Mara Lodge. Food was outstanding (Italian trained local chefs), and guides were skilled, with great local knowledge on the animals and birds. We were given our own guide and vehicle, Dixon the guide was fabulous. As this trip was over the Christmas break, they threw in the most amazing Christmas meal on the Mara plains, with elephants in the background and then capped it all with a surprise party for me on my birthday 2 days later. All at no extra cost.

Our follow up week in Zanzibar at the Pongwe Beach was equally good, a lovely clean beach, warm seas, simple thatched accommodation all set in a lovely landscape. Staff were friendly, and the food excellent (especially for fish lovers. it was uncrowded heaven (unlike Stonetown, rather crowded and over-priced. Go to the Pongwe and avoid the crowds. Again, all hand picked by Wayfairer to meet our brief.

Wayfairer Travel costs came in at 75% of the big 3 agents in UK. Granted, they do not produce glossy brochures, and their travel package is a simple printed summary but it had everything you need and we were met and cared for at every stop, so do not be fooled by the glossy photo montages of the bigger agents. Wayfairer cover your flights with ABTA so you still travel reassured that you will get home if anything should be wrong with the agent / airline. At the very least, approach them before signing up with a bigger agent.

A three centre trip offering an alternative and ind depth tour of Kenya
5/5

The holiday met all expectations. The travel consultant followed my brief exactly. She considered that there were two different generations on tour and made sure both generations had a tailor made tour that suited them completely.
The safari was very personal and everyday we were asked what we would like to do.....we were not told, what we were going to do! The tracker/guide was fantastic. We enjoyed his company and his tracking was unbelievable.

At Diani beach, we were made so very welcome and we relaxed completely. But please note there is no village to explore and entertainment is limited.

Well organised, communication could be better though.
4/5

The accommodation was great, well organised trip, our driver was excellent, good car. The communication and pre-trip information could have been better. We were not aware of mandatory tipping (which is quite high), also not aware of an additional guide for Rwanda - certainly didn't need one.

Responsive and Detailed
5/5

Carmen and Thea were communicative and responsive from the get go. Their Tanzanian tour operator partner is owned by a Dutch/Maasai couple who practised first world standards like recycling paper and plastics wherever we went. That was a refreshing change. Local guide and vehicle also up to par. Do note that the local operator is a different company so the minor shortfalls (there weren't many) are out of Wayfairer's control so my only wish was that they had their own local rep on site.
