an unforgettable experience
4/5

everything was nice. Our guide James tried to show us all the animals and we saw them all. The tent we stayed in was comfortable. Only the second day water problem, dirty flowed from the tap. They gave the necessary attention and tried to find a solution. lunch and dinner were delicious, maybe they could diversify breakfast. We thank you for everything.

Spectacular with a Side of Vexation
4/5

The main day of our safari, we were very blessed and got to see almost every major species of animal possible in Maasai Mara. That being said, the drive was quite frustrating at times. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable but also restless. Every time he decided to stop so that we could take pictures, he would suddenly shift gears and floor it or move us back and forth unnecessarily and without warning. Some people got hurt, and a few of us have really blurry pictures of the sky and apparatus of the open roof as it hit us in the face or chest from the whiplash. James was a great driver other than the twitchiness, however. He never got us stuck in the mud like we witnessed other drivers do and really did do his best to help us see the animals as clearly and closely as possible while keeping us safe. Other main annoyances like the terrible roads weren't his fault. The only other suggestion I'd have is for him to keep certain comments himself; the picnic would have been a lot more comfortable without them.
The places we stayed in were nice as were the meals. Hm, perhaps the vehicles could be better suited for safaris rather than just regular vans, though. The one were we in was cramped as far as legroom and storage space and barely up to the challenge of the Maasai Mara roads.

Friendly efficient safe and affordable 3D Mara + Nakuru
5/5

The drivers were safe and attentionate. Camp in the Mara was rustic but very pleasant. Chatting by the fire camp with the staff and visitors was a nice experience. Electricity is only available for a few hours , so make sure you come prepared. During the safari, had a maximum of 7 in the 9-seater which was confortable. The guide did every effort to make our safari a success. Staying 3 nights is not necessary except if you are there during the migration season and want to increase your chance of seeing the river crossing. Lake Nakuru is the perfect park to combine with Mara. The flaMingos and the rhinos are many there and the sight is stunning. I stayed at Matfam hotel which was pleasant as well.

It was great from the beginning. Pick-up was on-time, the car clean and reliable. The driver was very friendly and tried hard to make everything possible. The camp was clean and really beautiful. We could not have asked for more.

Superlative Safari Experience
5/5

My wife and I booked a 7 Day Safari to Masaai Mara, Lake Nakuru, and Amboseli through Lenchada Safaris. Our experience was EXTRAORDINARY! We arrived in Nairobi on Saturday and had booked a day trip to the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage for Sunday. Our driver was at our hotel on-time to take us to Sheldrick, but because we were early for the park opening, he took us to the Giraffe Conservatory first. It was a wonderful added excursion and allowed us time with the giraffes before we headed to Sheldrick. Sheldrick is another extraordinary experience and we highly recommend visiting their operation. On Monday we were picked up by our wonderful safari guide and driver, Isaac. We traveled with six other people to the Lenchada Safari Camp just outside the Masaai Mara Game Park. The safari camp was more than we had expected and our tent had an en-suite toilet and shower. The camp has electricity for three hours in the morning and three hours in the evening. Each tent has solar lights as well. It was "Glamping" at its finest. The game drives over the next three days were unbelievable. Isaac knew all of the areas to go into to find the Big 5 game animals. We spotted cape buffalo by the thousands, lions (male, female and adolescent), a leopard with its kill in a tree, elephants, and the elusive black rhino. The Great Migration had started in the Masaai Mara and we were treated to views of thousands of wildebeest and zebras. Isaac knew all of the animals and imparted much knowledge concerning all of the species. We made our way to the Mara river and saw crocodiles and hippos, galore. We added on a visit to a Masaai village and were not disappointed. The village is not a tourist trap, it is an actual village were a tribe of about 200 Masaai live and raise cattle. We also visited a local primary school, which was very humbling.

We traveled to Lake Nakuru on day 4 and stopped for a boat ride on Lake Naivasha. The boat ride was another very nice add-on. We saw hippos and many bird species. We stayed in a nice hotel for the evening in Lake Nakuru and had a nice meal. The game drive the next morning was very successful as we were able to spot and get close to white rhinos, as well as more lions, elephants, and many different antelope and gazelle species. We also saw thousands of flamingos.

We departed Lake Nakuru for Amoboseli on day 5. The drive is about 250 miles and it is long but takes you through small towns and was very interesting. We were treated with a view of Mt. Kilamanjaro as we got to Amboseli. The mountain is usually not visible due to cloud cover, so we were very excited to get the view. The safari camp at Amboseli was also very nice and had electricity 24/7. Each cabin has an en-suite toilet and shower. The tents do not have en-suite facilities, but there are toilets and showers available for those quarters. The game drives in Amboseli were once again extraordinary. We saw so many elephants!

It is difficult to put into words just how wonderful our experience was on this trip. We are seasoned travelers and have been all over the world. This safari is at the top of our most favorite trips list! Our driver/guide, Isaac, made the whole experience wonderful and was very professional and friendly. Lenchada made the booking easy and provided everything that we expected and more.

Guides were fantastic
5/5

I’m glad that I chose Lenchada Safaris.

I booked 4 nights / 5 days, with 2 full days in Masai (3 nights) and 1 in Nakuru. If I could go back, I would’ve done a 3rd full day in Masai Mara and would’ve dropped Nakuru all together, or I would’ve ended the tour on day 4. Nakuru is nice, but it can’t follow Masai Mara.

Solomon (1 full day) and Joseph (1 full day) were my guides while in Masai Mara. Both were full of knowledge and gave tons of animal information (male vs female, which is the alpha/leader, why they do this/that). They are also driving pros.. some of those trails are slick (muddy, wet, bumpy).

I only didn’t see a Leopard, but I saw many Lions (including an injured male), Buffalos, a couple of cheetahs, three Rhinos in the hills (with binoculars), a few hyenas, and many other species of animals.

I got lucky that it didn’t rain during 99% (rained less than 1 hour total) of my time game driving, even though May is rainy season. My gamble paid off, as the reserve was not crowded, and, at times, felt like we were the only ones there.

I would NOT have blamed Lenchada safaris had it rained the entire time, obviously.

Thank you Solomon, Joseph, and everyone else. 5 stars.
