Excellent, well organised, good communication.
4/5

The safari was an incredible experience for us first timers. The game drives were quite well planned, and we got to see all the big, but also the small animals and plants! We did a total of 6 days, covering Masai mara, lake Nukuru, Naivasha and Amboseli.

I also have to give a special shout-out to our driver and guide - Gerald, aka, G-Man. If you are to go with lenchada, I highly recommend you request him. The man is not only incredibly knowledgeable but someone who is genuinely passionate about the job. He provided us with a lot of information about nature, culture, society, etc. He was a fantastic companion to have and always took special care of us and our requests.

I also want to give a special shout out to the boss, Mr. Alex, he not only checked on us throughout the trip, but always helped and communicated with us if we had any queries, and we highly appreciated the level of attention to his clients. He is someone who clearly cares about the welfare of the customer and this is the biggest asset to taking Lenchada.

Overall I would give the experience a 4.7/5!
If I had to put any areas of improvement, it would only be our first camp (Mara Lenchada Camp) in Masai Mara, which could be a bit better. There was a bit of mould on the floors and roofs of the camps and the toilets weren't functional. However, the remaining hotels and camps (Buraha and AA Lodge) camps were beyond incredible with excellent amenities and services, including the ability to wake up to a private view of the Kilimanjaro which was a stunning experience, WiFi, bar, room service, incredible buffet and more.

Can highly recommend their services and you will thoroughly enjoy your time.

What an unforgettable experience
5/5

This was our first time on a safari and we were pretty skeptical about how it was going to be. But Lenchada Safaris made sure that we were taken care of right from the first minute. Alex was always super responsive and answered our umpteen questions in no time. The safari wouldn’t have been so unfathomably incredible, if not for our guide Geeman, who went all out to show us as many animals as he could to make our first safari an experience of a lifetime. I’d highly recommend Lenchada Safaris.

An experience to remember
5/5

We were absolutely excited about the safari tour. The booking experience with Alex was so seamless and he replied to our questions in no time. Our guide Geeman was the best guide we could‘ve asked for. He was very familiar with the park and knew where exactly to spot animals (especially the wild cats) and constantly provided us interesting facts about all the animals. I am happy to recommend Lenchada.

Jeff was very knowledgable and attentive
5/5

We booked a 5 day Safari online from the UK. Everything was plain sailing. We were picked up from our hotel before getting aboard our jeep. Jeff was our tour guide for our trip to Masai Mara, two lakes and another national park. We saw lots of different animals across the 5 days. Jeff is a great tour guide and was exceptionally kind and caring, especially when one of us was feeling unwell. He answered all of our questions and told us interesting facts while on the drive.

Wonderful trip in Kenya
5/5

This is our first time in Kenya, and when I was in China, I contacted this travel agency via email. It was very good and the response was very timely. We traveled for a total of six days to three national parks, all of which were worth visiting. Our driver and guide, John, was a very enthusiastic person who always smiled. He helps us a lot, driving is tiring every day, but he still often tells us where the animals are, his physical strength and eyesight are very good. Highly Recommend him to everyone!!!

Things to be aware of | honest yet a little bit long review
4/5

We chose Lenchanda Safaris (or Jockey Tours) because its prices were lower than the other safari companies were offering, and we also read plenty of good reviews on the internet. Considering our possibilities, we chose the Budget 6-day trip for Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru and Amboseli, and a few days before our departure to Kenya we sent an email to confirm that everything was fine, to which we received positive feedback. Our first guide was Francis, and he took us to Masai Mara and then Lake Nakuru. The fourth day, moving from Nakuru to Amboseli (long distance to drive), passing through Nairobi, we learnt that we needed to change guide (Alex) though keeping the same jeep. If it is true that until that moment we had a great time, from that moment on we started having a few issues. While driving to Amboseli through the night we realized that the car didn't have proper lights to drive (Amboseli is 4-5 hours away from Nairobi), something that we didn't know, so the trip after a while got quite scary and dangerous, as a matter of fact we have been also stopped by the police. It goes without saying that driving very slow because of reduced visibility increased the amount of time to arrive, and in the way we found out that the Lodge we were supposed to stay was not available and we were moved to a different camp (this was never mentioned to us at any moment in the past 2 weeks, even when we asked if everything was ok before our departure
Beside the fact that Alex was driving very slow so to be able to see, we were surprised by the fact that multiple times he didn’t know where to go, and not had clear idea of the direction to take. After plenty of hours in the car (it was around 9 pm), we reached our new accommodation, where we learnt that they were fully booked. Alex, even though he was not giving us proper explanations, was trying to talk with the office to find a solution. At the end, at around 11 pm, we moved to another hotel for the night (thankfully it was a 5-star hotel). However, for the last day, we moved again to another one, which was a very bad option, and a quote dirty option we have to say. Unfortunately, this experience had a very strong and bad effect on the overall safari experience.
As for the guides, the first one, Francis, is a very energetic and knowledgeable person about safaris, with many years of experience, so he played a crucial role in the trip for the first 4 days. Alex, on our opinion, is not a safari guide, even though he was giving us interesting infos during the game drives. Multiple times he seemed to not have experienced Amboseli before, and for sure he did not help us to spot animals in Amboseli.
As a whole, the safari trip was affected significantly by all those events. Of course, we enjoyed it because the places are very beautiful and being able to see these animals from such a short distance is amazing, but driving safely and proper organization/communication are key aspects that were definitely missing!

Jonny is the absolute best, we've been so well looked after by him!
5/5

We have been on the 6-day safari with Lenchada and Jonny has been our fantastic guide!

The first 2 nights we spent at Lenchada Eco Camp, it's a nice space just outside the Massai Mara reserve. The staff are really friendly and the tent had its own toilet, however it is a budget camp with limited electricity access. On the game drives themselves, Jonny made sure to get us the best views of all the animals. We saw lions, cheetah (with cubs), buffalo, giraffes, zebra and a hyena eating - all in the first day!

The second game drive, we were up early and we were taken out into the wild where we saw plenty of the animals mentioned before as well as elephants and hippos! We even got to see part of the great migration of wildebeest, again Jonny made sure we had the best views which we really appreciate.

Day 3 we travelled to our accommodation for Lake Nakuru, Jonny gave us a choice to stop by Lake Naivashna on the way, so we did. We're so pleased that we did this because we got to have a boat ride and walk alongside zebra and giraffes. Then when we finished, we were taken to our accommodation for the night. The accommodation for the night in Nakuru was good, as it was a hotel room with a hot shower and more food options.

After the Lake, Jonny took us all the way down to Amboseli ready for the last 2 days of our trip. Hats off to Jonny, he's done so much driving and been so fantastic, all with a smile still. He made sure we had plenty of bathroom breaks throughout with places to buy coffee/snacks (which we recommend bringing)

Day 5 we went into the Amboseli reserve. We saw a baby elephant which was only a few days old and we even got to see 3 lionesses with 5 cubs! Jonny said that it's very rare to see lions here, but he managed to get us front row seats again.

Day 6 is tomorrow, we've got an early morning game drive before being taken back to Nairobi. Overall, it's been an incredible experience and would recommend to those looking for a budget friendly safari.

Thank you!
Josh and Jade

Joseph is very experienced and understanding. He was a great guide overall and I have no complaints.
5/5

Good value. The food was the same everyday, but for a budget safari the quality of the actual drives in the parks was amazing
