Phenomenal experience
We had a lovely experience with Hyrax safaris. Emaah was really helpful and accommodating in last minute requests. She also helped in planning a wonderful Birthday surprise for my husband. Our tour guide and driver George was amazing. He didn’t leave any stone unturned to provide us the best safari experience.

Once in a lifetime experience
Hyrax are a safari expert group, they know very well their ecological area🌿, animals' behaviours and their movement patterns🐾. Amazing package = affordable prices + hospitable treatment + skilled driver and guide. We saw all big five 🦏, except for the leopard 🐆 The food was not fancy but home made and healthy. We slept in tents and felt very safe with the locals. The village tour was also very nice and we ended the tour with a boat trip outside of Nairobi. Highly recommended!

Perfect Coordination
After lots of research, we chose Hyrax Safaris because they offered an easily customizable plan as well as a great price compared to its competitors. Correspondence was always quick with Ms Emmah. Service was unbeatable from start to finish. Our driver Mr Anthony was on time for pickup. We had a great adventure that we will share for the rest of our lives. We highly recommend booking a tour with Hyrax Safaris.

Irene is perfect! Quick replies, detailed and patient answers, perfectly eased our concerns.
1. Pre-travel Contact: Our group of four booked a 7-day safari tour with Hyrax Safari, and Irene responded to us quickly, offering a very cost-effective price. She patiently addressed our concerns (such as potential hidden costs, accommodations, tips, etc.). Her responses were very timely, and she took every question we had seriously, making communication smooth and very positive.
2. Safari Tour: We opted for a shared tour, traveling with three other ladies. Our guide was Martin, who was professional, enthusiastic, and humorous. He asked us at the beginning what animals we wanted to see and was very keen on helping us spot almost every animal we wished to see. In the Maasai Mara, he was diligent in tracking animals and positioned us perfectly to observe a lion hunt. His driving skills were excellent, preventing me, who easily gets motion sick, from feeling car sick throughout the journey. Moreover, whenever we asked him questions about the animals, he answered seriously.
During meals in the wild, he ensured our safety throughout, which made us feel very secure. He was fantastic!

Professional, efficient, and a smooth adventure from start to finish
Irene was very efficient and supportive from the moment she sent the quote to the moment I returned home; she was always available to answer any questions and ease any doubts or concerns. The whole journey was incredibly smooth, from being picked up to the airport, going to the camp, Lake Nakuru and then back to the airport; the drivers were professional, knowledgeable and were always willing to answer any questions. The adventure itself was spectacular, with such experienced drivers, we were able to see some spectacular sights, the highlight being able to witness a pride of lionesses hunt.
The “budget camp” was better than expected - the tent had a comfortable double bed, with a mosquito net draping over it, as well as a fully functional bathroom. Although there was electricity in the tents, the camp did not have wifi. The food, despite being limited in choice, was always good quality, and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. The atmosphere was peaceful and relaxed.
The visit to the Masai village was an eye-opening experience, and it was an honour to share their culture. After mentioning that I was a teacher, they invited me to tour the local school too. The hospitality demonstrated by everyone was genuine.
I had an amazing time on this four day safari and would highly recommend this experience.

It was an unforgettable experience 🤩
We really enjoyed it. All the staff and the people we meet are so lovely, friendly and were kind to us, in the camp or even in the masai village. A big thanks to our driver Ben he was so helpful and lovely, we enjoyed our time with him.
I will recommend it to my friends. It was really worth it.
And seeing all the animals in the masai mara is something else 🤩 . We loved it.
Thank you so much for your effort, your help, and your organized plan ❤️

Extremely Professional
My girlfriend and I went on a 7 day safari organised by Hyrax. We had an excellent service from point of enquiry until the end of our trip.
Emmah was extremely helpful in tailoring us a bespoke Safari route from Nairobi to Mombasa. And our driver guide, Tony, was very knowledgeable about the history, the culture and the wildlife of Kenya.
We had the absolute trip of a lifetime and I’m not sure how we’ll ever manage to top this trip!

The safari was a memorable experience. The guides were funny and the ladies at the offices were always there, when you had questions. Camp was good.

Very good tour operator
We had a 6 day Safari starting Nairobi, Masai Mara, Lake Naivasha (it is opțional but we recommend it), Lake Nakuru and Amboseli. Irene was our contact from Hyrax and we were really happy with her, we asked a lot of questions before and during the Safari and she managed to get an answer or a solution every time. The Safari experience depends on many factors: weather, driver and luck. We manage to see all the Big 5 animals, including black rhino and many more. You have to take into consideration that you will spend a lot of time on the roads between parks, you will have 2 full day Safari (one in Masai Mara and one in Amboseli) and 3 other days you will have only 2-3 hours of Safari, the rest you will be on the road between parks. We recommend to pay extra for the Jeep (Land Cruiser), it’s more comfortable and you can get into places that the Van cannot go. We took the upgrade for accommodation to mid budget, it’s not the best but you get what you pay. We recommend mid accommodation, at least for Masai Mara. In Lake Nakuru the hotel was nice and the food was great, in Amboseli the camp was nice even though we had some problems with the mosquitoes and other insects in our tent, but the view to Kilimanjaro in the morning was priceless.

Well planned and executed
I was very happy with communication with Emma during the bookings, very flexible towards creating a plan and finding the right fit. The hotels she had booked were amazing and perfect. All these hotels were very flexible in providing us vegetarian food 3 times a day!
Special mention to Harry our guide, he is amazing, friendly and knowledgable. We had a great experience in safari and travel because of him.
