Amboseli National Park in march
5/5

The tour was great, I had a wonderful time with my tour guide Nelson. I learned a lot from him about the Kenyan culture as well as about the many animals we saw. The car was a Toyota hiace which was perfect as it basically could go anywhere and was comfortable on the road. The tour was well organized but nevertheless flexible enough to include my personal wishes. The highlight was definitely seeing Mount Kilimanjaro in the morning as well as spotting lots of cats and Elephants. Also the pick-up at my accommodation in Nairobi as well as the drop-off at Nairobi international airport three hours prior to my flight worked perfectly. I would definitely do this tour again although this time I would stay for at least two nights.

Amazing Safari Tour Experience
5/5

This was my first time experiencing a Safari and I could not have asked for a better experience. I was surprised at how responsive Polly was during the planning phase of this trip. Everything was so easy. Our tour guide Peter was so engaging, knowledgeable, and funny! My friends and I laughed straight through. We also booked a Hot Air Balloon Experience through Mufasa Tours and it was BEAUTIFUL! Our camp was perfectly suited for our group of three, and it was everything we asked for. I would ABSOLUTELY use this company again. They made it an experience of a lifetime.

Perfect Tour Company
5/5

When my wife and I decided to go on safari we had no idea which company to go with. After a great deal of research and selecting 12 companies I gradually crossed each one off before I arrived with Mufasa and I believe I made the right decision. From my initial contact with them to being dropped off at the airport for our flight home Mufasa were magnificent.
Polly was my point of contact at Mufasa and she was one of the main reasons why we went with them. She responded instantly to my first email and her enthusiasm was clear for us to see. I gave her a rough idea of the itinerary I was looking for and she fine tuned this to perfection. She filled us with confidence, something that was welcomed for a couple going on their first proper safari, and anytime I contacted her with any questions she replied super fast.
A day before we were due to fly to Nairobi we had a problem with our flights (booked independently) which meant we would be arriving 5 hours earlier than planned. I contacted Polly who assured me that everything would still be okay at the Nairobi end and she would make sure that the hotel would be fully aware of our new arrival time.
After arriving at Nairobi airport we were met by John and Jim, two staff members from Mufasa, who took us to the Tamarind Tree Hotel for our overnight stay. During our drive to the hotel Polly rang to check that we had arrived safely and everything was fine, this was at 10pm on a Sunday evening!
The following morning we were met by Mary another member of staff who expertly took us through our itinerary just to make sure we knew exactly what the holiday entailed and also gave us the opportunity to ask any last minute questions. Mary then introduced us to Odhis who was going to be our driver/guide for the next 5 days. Odhis is the kind of person you dream about, a stranger one minute, your friend the next minute. A kind and warm hearted man who immediately puts you at ease.
Our holiday consisted of 3 nights in the Masai Mara, 1 night at Lake Naivasha, a visit to a tea plantation before making our way back to Nairobi for our flight home. The safari was when Odhis came into his own for his knowledge and his instinct, he excelled in knowing to be in the right place at the right time. He asked us if we had any special animals we would like to see, we told him Lions, Leopards, Cheetahs and Hyenas, for the first couple of safaris this is what he concentrated on and he gave us a magical time. All together we saw 44 Lions, 8 Lion Cubs, 2 Leopards, 7 Cheetahs and over a dozen Hyenas. On our first dusk drive we also got to see close up a Black Rhino. There was never any rush when viewing all the animals, Odhis gave us as much time as we wanted and it was clear to see that he took much enjoyment in seeing us being thrilled at all the different animals.
During our holiday we stayed at the Tamarind Tree Hotel (Nairobi), Keekorok Lodge (Masai Mara) and Sopa Lodge (Lake Naivasha). We were more than happy with all accommodation especially the Sopa Lodge which was very impressive.
I would recommend Mufasa Tours and Travels to anyone wanting a thoroughly professional company who look after you, put you at ease, have staff who are kind, caring and knowledgeable. My wife and I plan to return to Kenya in early 2024 and there is no doubt whatsoever that I will be contacting Polly and we will be using Mufasa once again.

Outstanding experience managed by professionals
5/5

With Mufasa we were able to experience a dream safari. Beautifully situated lodges with breathtaking views. Our first-class guide Daniel gave us an unforgettable holiday with his outstanding experience, his feel for the wildlife and his friendly, always good-humoured manner.
The communication before and during the holiday was always quick and helpful, even with requests for changes. We were very happy to meet Joseph personally in Nairobi. We felt that we were always in good hands and well looked after with Mufasa.
We will be back.

Excellent Tour !
5/5

My wife and I did a 6 day tour of ; Samburu Reserve, Lake Nakuru, and Masai Mara, with Mufasa Tours and Safaris. Our Driver / Tour Guide Daniel was not only an excellent and safe driver, but also, he seemed to have an incredible instinct for finding specific animals. Daniel was also very friendly and informative about Kenyan society and culture, and went out of his way to help us with our mobility issues. We saw every single animal we had hoped to see, even an elusive Leopard. I cannot imagine a better safari at a very reasonable cost as well. Thank you Daniel and Joseph for making our safari a trip of a lifetime.

Excellent communication throughout process
5/5

We reached out to Mufasa several months prior to our Safari. My contact person was Polly who was extremely kind, helpful and prompt in her responses. We opted for a private 5 day safari for 2 in the van. We departed from Nairobi, spent 2 nights in Masai Mara, 1 night in Lake Nakaru, 1 night in Amboseli and were dropped off at the Email train station so we could continue on to Mombasa/Diani beach. They coordinated everything including the train tickets and driver from Mombasa to Diani beach. Upon pickup in Nairobi the driver was accompanied by a woman from Mufasa tour. Unfortunately, I forgot her name, but she was extremely kind, went over our itinerary and provided us with a small gift. If I could do it over I would opt for the 4x4 Landcruiser since the roads are extremely bumpy and the van is slower since it has to navigate with the lower clearance. I would also add more days to Masai Mara since it was my favorite place of the 3 stops. Our accommodations (Zebra Plains, Sarova Lion Hill and Kibo Safari Camp) were amazing. I loved the staff at Zebra Plains and loved how nice Kibo Safari Camp was. Would definitely book again next time we visit.

Best Tour Guide ever - Daniel
5/5

We booked a Safari for mid of January 2023 just before Christmas in 2022, therefore short notice, however the communication, the planning and the money transfer went without any issues. Polly arranged everything perfectly from her office.

Our journey started in Nairobi, we were staying in Nairobi for two nights and one day, when we just came back to the hotel, our tour guide Daniel surprised us by welcoming us to Nairobi in the hotel. He was there in order to check how he could plan our pick up the next day best. (observing parking etc.) So very well organized. Finally on Monday, after two days in the busy city of Nairobi our Safari Tour started with Daniel. He picked us up at the hotel early in the morning in order to avoid the busy traffic jam during weekdays. We booked a safari starting in Nairobi ending in Mombasa, on the way to to Mombasa we went to two Nationalparks - Tsavo East + Tsavo West. The drive from Nairobi to the 1st lodge in the Nationalpark was abt 5 hrs, were we went on the autoroute to Mombasa, it was very interesting to get a view on how people live outside the cities. how they get to work and how they sell goods on the street. The drive did not feel like 5 hrs, as there was always something you could see and it was a good way to experience the african way of life. Once we got to the entrance of the first National park, Daniel explained to us that every Safari is called a "game drive". I was like, why "game drive" and he explained, because it is a game, sometimes you win, if you see a lot of animals and sometimes you loose if there are not a lot of animals around. Which in the end made total sense. Daniel also explained about the country, the people, the landscape and of course the animals while we were driving. Coming back to the game drive, it made total sense, the first nationalpark was insane in view of landscape, you get to all different landscape colours from red to green. However Kenya is lacking rain since a couple of months, therefore the bushes and trees are dry which also results in less animals in the parks because of no food. We were so excited the whole time during the game drive to try to spot animals, in the first park I think we lost the game on the first day, we saw a couple animals, however not even one elephant, but we were courious to see one and Daniel was trying to find one for us which he did on day 2. and we were super excited. Starting day two with Daniel, we were driving through the park and I saw big big grey elephant bumps, thought so, but in the end they turned out as big rocks - we were all laughing like crazy. Second and third day in the second nationalpark was totally different not only because of the landscape but also in view of the amount of animals, better to say of the elephants, we had tons of elephants crossing our way and one morning abiut 70 elephants walking to a waterhole and relaxing there together - that was insane. We were already more than happy with the Safari after seeing, elephants, many elephants, zebras, giraffes, antilopes, buffalos and an ostrich but then Daniel presented us something special. We were in the evening game drive, when all the other jeeps already went back to the hotel, I said to Daniel: hey you've missed the hotel, he was like, yes I know, I just wanted to look at something. &&&& there we go!!! LIONS!!! Six lions laying abt 500 meter from us, we were only able to see them through our binoculars (Daniel saw them without) but then something exciting happened, they got up and walked towards our Jeep, we were so excited. That was the best experience ever! Daniel really has the eye to spot the animals - it was insane to notice how he looks at things - I can only recommend Daniel as your guide. When I will come back, I will definetly request Daniel as my guide. It was such a great experience - thank you again - Daniel !!! :-)

Memories of a lifetime...!
5/5

I booked 7 days tour with Mufasa and it was the best decision ever...! Mufasa took care of all my accomodations, meals, transport, where I just had to show up at the airport and everything onwards was taken care of, and I could solely focus on enjoying my vacation hassle free.
My experience with Joseph while booking the trip was real smooth. He was reliable and made sure to accomodate all my requests, especially my request of halal food at all accomodations was taken care of. I was pleasantly surprised when he greeted me at the hotel with a gift...! Not gonna spoil the surprise for the other travellers, but just know that Mufasa gifts were so thoughtful that I used it my entire trip and will continue using them long after I return home :)
Being a solo female traveller I was hesistant to venture on this trip alone, but my guide Nelson put all my hesistations to a rest. He is an excellent human being and always made sure that I felt safe and comfortable. There was never a single dull moment and he made sure that I saw the big5 multiple times and many more. Special thanks for taking some amazing pictures of me!
From the great Mara river to the TZ-KE border, from the masai village to the city mall, I covered it all. Thank you Nelson and always keep smiling as you do.
This was an adventure of lifetime with 100% value for money and I cannot wait to come back and tour with Mufasa again!
