Unforgettable experience
We were looking for the best quality-value option and contacted many safari operators. The way Mufasa Safari responded (they provided detailed guidance, suggested different options to suit our needs and were always patient) and especially the professional approach of Polly convinced us to go ahead with Mufasa. We were lucky to have very experienced guide David (all other drivers we encountered seem to rely on his advice) who arranged everything perfectly during our trip, he also shares interesting facts about animals and helped us with any extras we wanted. And the main thing - he really knows where to find all animals in the parks! The lodges we chose with help of Polly were amazing. They even prepared various surprises for our anniversary, when we just mentioned this upon booking (thanks to Polly for picking this up!). We would definitely recommend booking your safari with Mufasa!

Great Experience with Mufasa Tours
We had an amazing 6 day trip to Kenya from July 12th till 17th through Mufasa Tours & Travels. I had sent an enquiry by email to Mufasa Tours and Polly at Mufasa office responded fast clarifying all our doubts and gave us a tailor made package.
We did Masaimara, Nakuru and Lake Naivasha. We were fortunate to see the great migration and also the big 5 of Africa. We saw the Lions, Elephants, Buffaloes and Leopard in Masaimara and the Rhinos in Nakuru. We spotted different types of birds, Flamingos and Hippos in Lake Naivasha.
Our guide Michael was wonderful, he made us feel very comfortable explained everything in detail and he took much effort to spot animals. We were lucky to have Michael as our guide.
In our experience, we felt if anyone is planning to visit Kenya they can plan Masaimara for 3 nights (2 full day game drives required) from there early morning to Nakuru and spent a day and night halt at Lake Naivasha. From there to Samburu National Park. If you want to see a great picture perfect view of Mount Kilimanjaro then need to visit Amboseli National Park.
We had used a Landcruiser from Mufasa, had seen many Mufasa vehicles while travel and I felt all Mufasa vehicles are well maintained and perfect for safaris. I strongly recommend Mufasa for your Kenyan Safari.

Fantastic
Booked a 5-day solo safari trip with Mufasa Tours a couple months in advance. Caroline made the process very easy and was informative in providing details and answering questions. I was picked up at the Nairobi airport by my guide Julius in a land cruiser and off we went. Over the 5 days we hit Ol Pejeta, Lake Nakuru, and Maasai Mara. Each day was amazing and it only got better as the week went on. Julius was fantastic and I could not have asked for a better guide. He is well experienced having done tours for many years and was extremely pleasant to be around. He provided many interesting facts on the things we came across and played Kenyan hip-hop and reggae in the lengthy car rides which was a great vibe. The very first day, we saw 4 of the Big 5 (excluding the cheetah, which we saw the second day). Throughout the week, we saw all of the safari animals (too many to list!) besides the kudu, which resides in different regions than what we visited. A few of the countless highlights from each park:
- Ol Pejeta: Pet the blind rhino Baraka, chimpanzee chased another playfully with a giant sharp stick
- Lake Nakuru: A few thousand flamingos clustered at the lake, young lion cub that looked like Simba
- Maasai Mara: jackal hunting a baby gazelle while the mother successfully distracted it, crocodiles feasting and fighting over a dead wildebeest, leopard feasting on its kill in a tree, wildebeests/zebras river crossing
The final day, in the Maasai Mara, I was able to witness what I was most looking forward to, the Great Migration. We drove among massive herds which numbered in the tens of thousands and stretched for miles. It was a truly fascinating and magical experience which I will never forget, being among the sheer numbers of wildebeests and zebras. By the end of the tour, I had seen so many animals that I did not even do a double take when passing an elephant or giraffe. If you are at all interested in wildlife, enjoy the zoo, or watch Animal Planet, the safari experience is one you cannot miss!

An incredible dream come true with the perfect tours and guide
Our small family of 4 (including 2 girls age 8 and 11) travelled to Kenya from Indonesia in June 2023, so this is a slightly delayed post. After careful screening and discussions with other tour companies, we decided to go our 12 day dream safari with Mufasa, based on the responsiveness, flexibility and understanding of our needs during our communication with Joseph. Best decision ever. My husband and I are keen birders and upon our initial request, Joseph assured us that Kevin, our assigned guide is an excellent birder and conversationalist. Kevin, as it turned out, was everything we had hoped for and more. As a birding guide, in all my 25 years of birding globally, I have never met anyone else who is as knowledgable and enthusiastic about their birds as Kevin. We came back with a bird list of 248 birds, which was incredible. And beyond just the birds, Kevin's passion for Kenyan wildlife, his storytelling as well as his spectacular driving skills kept all of spell bound for days. We saw lion prides and little cubs so close by we could have touched them, 6 cheetahs in a day, and in the end, he managed to somehow get us to see a leopard even though one hadn't been sighted for days. The girls loved his stories on safe little bush walks, and in the end, when it came time to say goodbye, he went out of his way to help us get some goodies for our trip back home. Mufasa's recommendations for our places to stay were spot on and we loved all the resort experiences, not to mention they were all great value for money. We especially enjoyed the Neptune Mara Resort for it sumptuous yet understated luxury and Elsamere for it's raw authenticity and history. It was a teary goodbye for all of us, and you can be sure that next time we plan a safari anywhere Mufasa operates in, we will definitely use their services again. We hope to be back, with Kevin as our guide to explore more of the amazing parks of Kenya with the most warm and hospitable Kenyan people.

Magical Safari with Mufasa
Our 4 day safari with Mufasa was a magical experience. We highly recommend Mufasa and also out tour guide, Daniel. He did an amazing job showing us the Big 5 as well as many other animals. We saw animals off the beaten track that no one else saw because Daniel was so good at finding them. He was also extremely friendly and knowledgeable. If you do this safari, ask for Daniel! We chose the luxury option and our lodgings were wonderful, the food was delicious, and the staff was so friendly. We just can’t say enough good things about our entire experience. Joel, who helped us plan our trip, was very responsive, friendly, and helpful with accommodating our requests We highly recommend Mufasa Tours and Travels to anyone who’s considering going to Kenya for a safari.
Amazing time on safari with Mufasa!
From our initial enquiry Joel was very helpful and replied straight away. We were able to arrange pick up from our friend's private address.
We cannot praise our guide Daniel enough. He has an expert knowledge of the wildlife and was able to spot them whilst we were driving around the reserves, his is a skilled and safe driver and a lovely man - we really enjoyed his company and he made the trip so wonderful for us. We didn't have to worry about anything.
We saw more animals than we had expected and so close up. We saw lions, cheetahs, a leopard, rhinos, buffaloes, pumbas, zebrs, hippos, my favourite giraffes, elephants with babies who just strolled past us whilst we had our picnic breakfast! All so close to us it was quite overwhelming! We went during the migration and saw the 2nd herd that had crossed - wildebeest and zebras who ran right passed us.
We chose the luxury option and were not disappointed. The Entim in Maasai Mara was really beautiful, the staff were amazing, the food excellent a la carte and you have Maasai to lead you to your 'tents' which are very comfortable.
We then moved to The Cliff in Lake Nakuru where as well as lionesses and cubs, giraffes and good viewing of rhinos we also saw the flamingoes which was so wonderful. Even without the wonder of seeing the animals The Cliff is such a beautiful place it would be worth going to just be there. The view, facilities and food are excellent and the staff are really friendly and efficient. Highlights would be the baboons with babies on their backs walking past the 'tent' and the staff lifting back the tent flaps early in the morning so you can sit in bed and watch the sunrise come up over the lake!
The final treat on the way back to Nairobi was a stop at Lake Naivasha where we had a boat trip across the lake passing close by to hippos both in and out of the water and then walking with a trained guide along with giraffes and zebra which was just amazing.
We would certainly recommend Mufasa Tours, Joel and Daniel to anyone coming to Kenya.
