Rewarding and personalised safari experience in Murchison
We had a wonderful experience travelling with Peter from Buyaga Safaris. We took the 3-day trip from Kampala to Murchison, including the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary, game drives in Murchison and a memorable boat cruise up the Nile river to see the falls from below. From our earliest booking inquiry we found Buyaga Safaris most helpful and reliable to communicate with and offering a very reasonable price for the trip. With only two of us travelling, Peter provided a flexible and personalised itinerary, as well as sharing many interesting local insights with us along the way. Walking with the rhinos was a once in a lifetime experience and the morning game drives in Murchison rewarded with a beautiful sunrise and spotting of elephants, lions, buffalo herds, giraffes, hippos and numerous types of antelope. We also especially enjoyed staying at Murchison River Lodge, an eco-friendly and thoughtfully put together place right next to the Nile, great food, accommodation and service. Would definitely recommend this trip to other travellers.

My best safari in africa, amazing 8 days for ever in my memories
I am a french woman solo traveller and it was my 8 Safari in Africa, i like the wildlife so much...i chose buyaga safari compagny and i don't regret it. I booked for 8 days and i lived a dream. Everything was perfect, the accomodations, food, the games drive, the car, everything was very well organized...but i thank you Peter the manager, it is a very good and honest person and he does his best for you , to satisfied you, to have a successful safari and safe trip, good driver...we saw many animals and close, lions, many elephants in queen elisabeth, crocodiles, giraffes , many hippo, birds, monkeys, gorillas, chimpanzee...and with my phone i have very good pictures. Peter have many contacts and choose good accomodations. I chose the cheapest quote and it was buyaga safari, everything was clear for the rate, the itinerary, all other compagnies they overcharged for me their quotes, that is why i recommend buyaga, very clear, honest, reliable..you will be not disappointed
Best safari operator I’ve been with
I’ve been on a few safaris in and out of Africa and Peter was the best guide I have ever had.
Peter genuinely cared and had an interest in the animals, the environment and other cultures. He was great to chat to and always made us feel comfortable. Peter was very professional and passionate as well.
We travelled with Peter on our honeymoon and he made us both feel very safe and at ease.
The Safari itself was really good, seeing everything that we wanted and more. Peter pulled out all of the stops in order to make sure we had an incredible wildlife experience. All of the rangers, hoteliers and staff knew Peter and received him well.
The vehicle was comfortable and clean. It was perfect for the safaris we went on. The air con was able to be put on for the entire journey as well which made for a comfortable travel. Water was always on hand as well.
The accommodation selected was very good with great food, service and comfortable beds.
Throughout the booking process and pre trip time, Peter was more than happy to answer questions and help with anything with a speedy response.
I really wouldn’t look anywhere else other than Buyaga Safaris. I don’t think I ever saw Peter without a genuine smile. He clearly loves what he does.

Couldn’t have asked for anything more
We had a once in a lifetime week spent with Buyaga Safaris and Peter. We love that Peter/Buyaga Safaris is a native Ugandan tour guide operator. This means we received a truly authentic trip to Uganda. Peter was extremely knowledgeable about the culture, flora, agriculture practices, wildlife, history and more of Uganda. We learned so much about Uganda and felt safe and in great hands the entire trip. Peter went above and beyond to meet all of our needs. We became great friends and we will miss him very much. Look no further for a tour guide operator. Buyaga Safaris will 100% provide you with an unforgettable experience. Until next time!

Worth every penny!
Peter was a gracious and attentive host. Places to visit, to stay and to eat have all been selected with utmost consideration and all were really pleasant. This is a good way to see the beauty of Uganda. I felt safe as a solo traveller and really enjoyed the trip.

Couldn't ask for more
My 6 days with Peter from Buyaga Safaris was excellent - from the beginning to the end. I received the quote very fast and got a very competitive offer - since the itinerary seemed to be more relaxed compared to the 5-days-tours of other operators, the decision was an easy one.
During the whole process of payment and organisation, Buyaga Safaris did a splendid job in providing information and guidance.
The tour itself was the adventure I was hoping for. On the long rides to national park and on Uganda's 'massage roads', there was plenty of time to exchange a lot of cultural information, perspectives and personal opinions regarding land and people of Uganda (and my country) - learning about the differences and similarities between our people.
The trekking of chimpanzees and mountain gorillas - as well as the safaris in Queen Elizabeth national park - created long lasting memories and Peter was always happy to 'run the extra mile', to make sure that the trip is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
I hope that Peter and Buyaga Safaris have a long and prosperous future ahead and can fully recommend the whole experience.

Best Africa Trip!
I can’t begin to thank Buyaga Safaris enough. We did the eight day Safari including the chimps, the gorillas, rhino Trekking, Murchison Falls, multiple boat rides, and of course the safaris. My trip could have been ruined because my luggage did not arrive. Our guide Dalson, and Peter (the manager) worked very hard and graciously with the airline and the luggage assistant at the airport to locate my bags and have them personally delivered to me when we were eight hours away from the airport. They are locals and have many connections. It took many text messages and phone calls, however, they came through. Dalson, our guide was very knowledgeable and very personable. He was passionate about Uganda and guiding. I highly recommend him to guide your tour. This is my second Africa trip and I would go back just to experience it all again with Buyaga. Also, the accommodations were very nice.

An amazing experience!
We stayed in the moderate level accommodations and they were absolutely wonderful. They were clean, safe, and had wonderful views, luxurious amenities, friendly staff, and bountiful food. Our host Peter was amazing. During the booking process, communication with him was prompt and clear. As our guide on the tour, he was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, well-connected, and resourceful. He successfully coordinated a busy itinerary and ensured we had a great time. Be prepared for the possibility of a few long drives, if you plan to see a lot of the country; Uganda is large. Some of the roads can be bumpy, but they allow you to access so many hard-to-reach places. We saw so much of the country traveling between points. We saw all kinds of wildlife on our drives— every animal we had hoped to see. It was truly an amazing experience and a great snapshot of Uganda.

5 days Gorillas and Chimps Safari amazing and FUN with Peter of Buyaga
The five days Gorillas & Chimps Safari by Buyaga was even more amazing than we expected. First, the main reason for our trip was to see the Gorillas and we are still in shock over that experience. We were able to be so close to them for the full time. Watching the silverback eat his leaves and the mom try to get her playful baby down out of the tree was astounding. My daughter and husband got VERY gently side-swiped by the silverback when he moved to a new spot.
We were delighted with other experiences that we can directly attribute to Peter Amanya (our guide). He met an impossible schedule to get us to a boat ride to see many hippos up close. He pushed to get us in Queen Elizabeth Park near dusk which put us within feet of a half dozen lions. He patiently stayed so we could watch them climb out of trees, play with each other, roll on the ground and even cross right in front of our van for a new lounging spot. He took extra time on a super long day journey to circle a park in search of more views of exotic animals. He stopped to allow my husband and him to help a guy on a motorcycle who had fallen over with a huge load of bananas. I don’t think we would have had the same rich experiences with any other company/guide.
Finally, I will mention the only unavoidable negative for someone planning such a trip—YouTube prepares you for the challenging hikes, but doesn’t mention the grueling road trip to get there. Your safety there will depend on your company/guide choice. The roads and other drivers present challenges you just can’t imagine. Peter’s skill in knowing the depth of the water filled potholes, the steering technique for steep mud-rock roads, and the unexpected behavior of the overloaded cow/human truck in front of us assured our safety. Additionally, his wonderful humor and infectious laugh made every minute of the trip FUN.
This trip will long stand first in our memories of the over 80 countries we’ve visited. We thank Buyaga and especially Peter for the unforgettable experience.
