Extremely professional
We enjoyed one of the best if not the best vacation ever with this wonderful team. Thanks to Elizabeth & Damarice from their office to the amazing guides Colman and Edward and everyone involved. First we climbed Kilimanjaro before going on safari as well. We chose the 8 days Rongai route as it was during the rainy season. The information we received were extremely helpful to be prepared for the hike and we all made it to the summit. Thanks to the porters for all your help, it would not have been possible without you guys! The safari was well arranged and we stayed at beautiful lodges, starting at Tarangire national park, Serengeti and the Ngorogoro Crater. Thank you for making this happen!

We enjoyed one of the most amazing family trips-of-a-lifetime thanks to Tanzania Horizon Safaris, a Tanzanian-operated company. I was glad to be able to work directly with a local company instead of adding another layer of a US travel agent – and to work with people who knew their staff and locations well.
Super kudos go to Elizabeth, the guest/sales manager, who helped tailor our schedule to facilitate specific travel interests and needs. Our trip took us to Gombe; followed by a multi-day stay in Taranguire National Park, Serengeti National Park, the Southern Serengeti, the Ngorongoro Crater; and a final stop in Moshi to see Mount Kilimanjaro. Elizabeth proved to be an excellent communicator who had great insights into travel times, medical needs, price requests, and a separate trip up to the Kenyan border so that one of my daughters could return to her work. She answered countless questions and was patient and thoughtful throughout. Payment for the trip was easy and secure and the Trip Plans ap was useful. I also appreciated being able to contact Elizabeth during the trip when I had questions – and her responses, per usual, were timely and helpful. I had read about Elizabeth’s top-level service when looking for safari companies – and I can confirm that she is really that good.
The two-day trip to Gombe was a highlight as we ended up being the only overnight visitors to the park. The guide and cook were fantastic. As a bonus, we ended up meeting with one of the researchers at the Jane Goodall Institute onsite to learn about the ongoing studies. Viewing the chimpanzees was truly magical – and the two hikes plus waterfall hike were strenuous but breath-taking.
Our trip through Taranguire, the Serengeti, the Ngorongoro Conservancy and Crater were also amazing. Our guide, Kazi, works directly with the company – and has served as a guide for 16 years. Kazi proved to be an excellent driver as we went through everything from dusty roads to torrential rainfalls. He became part of our family trip as we asked him to join us for our breakfasts and dinners at the lodges. We had wonderful conversations with him and enjoyed his sly sense of humor. We saw the animals up close – including a cheetah – and even got to experience part of the great migration (not in of our plans) with thousands of zebra and wildebeest returning to give birth in the area. Our lodgings during the safari were simply amazing – even though we opted for basic lodging that provided overnight electricity and WiFi. That Elizabeth knew these places personally and could recommend them was an added-plus.
I highly recommend Elizabeth and her team at Tanzania Horizon Safaris. They made our trip a phenomenal experience.

We contacted Tanzania Horizon Safaris for a Kilimanjaro climb with a female guide, as well as a 4-day customized tour itinerary. The communication was efficient and prompt from the start and all requests were accommodated. The entire trip went swimmingly without a glitch, and most aspects (pickup, lodging quality, food, professionalism) exceeded my expectations.
Props to our female mountain guide, Josephine, for being a star throughout. Special thanks to Colman and Dennis for their help on summit night. Isaya, David, Johnny, Barakeli and Douglas also deserve special mention for their efforts and kindness. Lastly, a heartfelt thank you to all the other hardworking porters for making this journey possible at all, and for making it a memorable and wholesome experience for us.

Elizabeth and the team absolutely made our holiday unforgettable by organizing everything so well for us. We climbed Mount Meru in 4 days before proceeding to Daresslaaam and visiting Selous Game reserved, Mikumi and Ruaha National Park. Everything was very well arranged and all guides, Anton and Davis did a fantastic job. My family, including my wife and 2 children, had a wonderful time and we weill never forget this. We say Karibu sana from Spain and will always be grateful. Thank you also for arranged the maasai clothes for us as souvenirs. It is a beautiful memory.

You made our Safari dreams come true!
My family and I spend beautiful 8 days in Tanzania thanks to Tanzania Horizon and it was dream come true for all of us, but mostly for me and my husband. As we are all safari fans since very long time, we always love to watch those documentaries on TV. This year we finally turned it into reality when we decided that it is now or never and booked our flights. Efficient, Knowledgeable and Adaptable
Climbing Kilimanjaro
This trip was part of my 80th celebration and the company was recommended to me by an International School friend. I was not disappointed. They are absolutely reliable.
Horizon has excellent email communication and the website is clear and workeable. Service was exceptional on and off the mountain.
On the trip. I found it too cold and the guide, Colman, found a way I could get down more quickly. I would not have made it without the guide, the chef - who cooked great food that met my vegetarian diet extremely well - and the chief porter. I might have made it to the top without the guys, but definitely not down!
As I haven’t priced other tours I can’t comment on the value for money. I was happy with the cost.
The tour was tailored for me. It was excellent - saying more than that would be redundant!

Extremely good experience and unforgettable
Our group of 6 friends had an amazing time with Tanzania Horizon Safaris. We hiked Kilimanjaro via the 6 day Marangu Route and felt incredibly safe and well-equipped. Our guides Anton, Jonas and Mussa were fantastic and always kept us motivated. The rented gear was excellent, and the trek was both fun and challenging. Afterward, we went on a 6 day private safari to Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro Crater. We experienced a very tough hiking highlight as we also climbed Ol Doinyo Lengai near Lake Natron. The views from up there were phenomenal! The lodges were great, especially Lake Natron Camp, ThornTree Camp, and Kuhama Camp. Highly recommended!

Wonderful journey with a wonderful team
Our adventure with Tanzania Horizon Safaris truly was a dream come true! Everything worked out so well, from the first itinerary that was drafted for us to the actual arrival and airport pick up. The lodges were selected perfectly and all meals were excellent. We truly loved the food. We successfully hiked Kilimanjaro via the Lemosho Route with the amazing Colman and Erik. They were so supportive and knowledgeable, making the climb enjoyable and safe. The entire team was incredible, and we felt so well taken care of. Seeing the stunning sights of Kilimanjaro when the sky cleared was breathtaking!
After the climb, we visited the Msamaria orphanage, which was a heartwarming experience. The kids were wonderful, and we loved spending time with them. They have a very wonderful garden where the children showed us what they have learned about planting and harvesting.
Next, we went on a super versatile safari to Selous Game Reserve and Mikumi National Park. Our safari guide, Davis, was fantastic. We went on walking safaris, boat safaris, and saw incredible wildlife up close, including elephants and cheetahs. The boat safari on the Rufiji River was especially unforgettable – seeing hippos and elephants from the water was surreal!
The entire trip was perfectly organized, making it stress-free and full of wonderful memories. We absolutely love Tanzania Horizon Safaris and the whole team. Big thanks to everyone for making our adventure so special. Highly recommend them for an unforgettable experience in Tanzania!
