Good quality safari that was well organized, and with pleasant people to deal with.
Gorilla Tours was super to deal with and they delivered a good quality safari. I had been to many African countries in the past, but this was my first trip to Uganda. Virgo at Gorilla Tours was prompt and described everything well. Everyone in our group of travelers really enjoyed how organized everything was, the quality and the descriptions provided all the information that we needed. Ronnie our driver/guide was excellent and went out of his way to make sure we had the best possible adventure. I highly recommend Gorilla Tours if you are seeking a good primate safari for both chimpanzees and gorillas.

The perfect gorilla/ chimps tour, in a wonderful country and at an affordable price
The tour was above our (high) expectations, although we use to travel a lot and have visited many countries.
Everything was perfect, from the pick up at the airport to the end.
We got our gorilla permits, nice but affordable accomodation, a great guide, friendly and professional.
We went there to see the gorillas and discovered a fantastic country: amazing landscapes (thje kisoro area is incredible), great people (we felt 100% safe everywhere), unique wildlife. We definitely want to come back for the northern loop.
Yes, the gorilla permits are expensive but i didn't met anyone there who had any regret. Just the road in the misty mountains would be worth the trip. It may be stressful to pay in advance for the permits, but GT seems perfectly reliable.
Gorillas are very special, they have a charisma that i never felt with any other animal and are so peaceful.
Just go for it. It's an experience you will never forget.

Extremely happy with our tour
We booked the Gorillas, Chimps and QENP trip very late indeed. Gorilla Tours were very good in organising the trip and offered flexible solutions for the lack of desired accommodation on some nights. Our driver Norbert was excellent and quite literally saved our lives via his driving skill when a bus overtook on a corner. The vehicle was in great working order and was perfect for the tour needs. Gorilla Tours also own and use some wonderful lodges the grounds of which are full of wildlife. Uganda is a warm and friendly country and I'd recommend it as a place to visit to anyone. If you are going to go, use Gorilla Tours, you get a great service for the fraction of the price of a European based tour company. I will definitely use them again.

Uganda at it's best
The trip was excellent. Everything worked as planned. The two drivers and guides have made an amazing job .
My main reason why I booked this trip was the opportunity to take part on 2 gorilla trackings. It was one of the best experience in nature what I've had so far (and I've made five safaris before ..).
I can recommend gorilla tour, you will not get disappointed and the trip is worth every cent.
Our Guide, Becker, was superb, meals , accommodation, Gorilla staff communication - all excellent!
Our tour exceeded all our expectations as we had lived in Kampala in the sixties, when things were generally chaotic. This recent adventure could not have been improved on. The pace of the trip was good and there were regular and interesting breaks for sightseeing and meals. All went without a hitch - despite the dreadful Kampala traffic!

A Memorable Experience
We booked a private 2 week luxurious Gorilla Tour. With our prior extensive travel experiences, we would classify our tour with Gorilla Tours in Uganda, as less than luxurious.
Our communication with Virgo and the organized itinerary was great.
The accommodations were clean and the Nature Lodges were wonderful. The ambiance created with evening campfires and the ability to hear the sounds of the local wildlife close by, we enjoyed immensely. The convenience of having an ensuite shower(sometimes outdoors!) and bathroom facilities gave us the feeling of “glamping”. A four course meal was served every evening and we found the servings generous. We would have felt better to have the option of a smaller serving size, with an offer of more, if needed.
On the Gorilla Tours web site they advertise: Drive around in the best 4WD Toyota Land Cruisers......
The vehicle breakdowns and tire repairs totalling 6 events disappointed us. We would recommend the company develop a protocol prior to sending a vehicle out to ensure it is road worthy and has the necessary equipment to change a tire. A jack that is too small and nothing flat to put the jack on, when on a bumpy dirt road, requires creative interventions.
In our opinion, it is imperative to have protocols in place that allow drivers to function well, especially to stay awake while driving. When sending a mechanic to repair our broken vehicle it resulted in unsafe driving the following day, due to the driver being responsible for picking up the mechanic at 3am. We appreciate the efforts to not interfere with our itinerary, however a replacement driver would have been safer.
We’d recommend requesting the drivers mentioned in other people’s 5 star reviews, as we had challenges with communication with our driver and there appeared to be a lack of knowledge pertaining to what we saw. We appreciated his knowledge of birds.
Overall our amazing adventure of seeing the rare and awesome mountain gorillas and many other animals and birds in beautiful scenery, resulted in a memorable experience in Uganda that we would highly recommend to others.

An unforgettable week in Uganda!!
I had a wonderful time in Uganda. Everything was perfectly organized. Picking up from the airport, the lodges, our great guide Ronald and all the amazing tours, everything was perfect. It was my first trip to Africa and I was a little bit nervous, but there was no reason to be. Everything went smooth and there was no single situation where I felt unsafe or uncomfortable. All the guides were helpful, kind and responsible and explained so many things about culture, nature and society in Uganda. Seeing all the amazing animals especially the gorillas was an unforgettable eyperience.
I can fully recommend Gorilla Tours!!!!

My seven-day tour was incredible.
My first interactions with Gorilla Tours were very easy. They communicated clearly and gave me a full itinerary of my trip. My guide Charles picked me up from my hotel and was great for the full duration of the trip. He really made the entire experience great. I went on a seven-day drip and saw four national parks, including Bwindi. Seeing the gorillas was the highlight of my trip, but the rest of the experiences were great as well.

This was a very unique, efficient, fulfilling experience that was realistically once in a lifetime.
communication was excellent as e-mails were always returned promptly and questions answered. service was very friendly and understanding of concerns. expectations were met as this can be hard when you have never traveled to that particular location. The driver, the trackers, hotel and guides were spot on.
I had a great experience with Gorilla tours and would highly recommend them.
I had a great experience with Gorilla tours. The Gorilla Valley Lodge was great, Ronald was awesome and even the driving was not too bad and afforded an opportunity to see some of Uganda on such a short visit. Punctual and professional service, an appropriately robust vehicle, accommodating and friendly driver, plenty of water and even a stop at a village market.
