Tour of Volcanoes National Park and Gorilla Trekking (Rwanda)
This was one of the most amazing trips I have ever taken in my life. KumbuKumbu Tours did such a good job getting everything scheduled and organized for me. Obed, the owner, speaks english very well, which makes communication so easy. He is concerned with all the little details of the trip and makes sure that you as the traveler are very well taken care of. He is extremely knowledgeable of Rwanda and all that there is to do. There are so many options to choose from and he has hands on experience with all of them. I will go back again in 2019 and will be using KumbuKumbu Tours again. I cannot be happier with my experience with them. You won't be sorry by going with this company for your travel needs.

We visited Africa for our honeymoon, and Obed was our tour guide for trekking the Nyiragongo volcano and seeing the gorillas in Virunga park. He did an amazing job, very attentive and responsible and friendly. He is so passionate about what he is doing, he knows very much about the fauna and he actually specialized in birds too (we loved hearing about different types of bird species). To this day we are in touch with Obed, because he is very involved in helping out his community. For example one year for Christmas he helped us get shoes for the children from one of the poor schools from the village.
We totally recommed Kumbukumbu tours and their services, Africa is so worth visiting, what you see there is unique and you sill remember it for the rest of your life.

Obed was very friendly, trustworthy and helpful throughout the experience.
Communication was not a problem at all because Obed's English ability is great as it was the language of communication. We were both able to easily understand each other. I was really impressed that the tour and assistance can be offered in different local languages included Swahili for those around the region. This is truly amazing! It was on early morning when I was met at the hostel and shown around Kigali including the Genocide Memorial. We then took the bus from Kigali to Gisenyi. Seeing Rwanda's landscape as the bus traveled through hills was breathtaking. The nature across the country is great with an amazing climate. The service was amazing throughout the experience and my expectations were exceeded. Thank you very much Kumbukumbu Tours and Obed for making my experience the best of the best!

We were so excited to go on our first-ever gorilla trek, but budget was a huge limiting factor. Obed worked with our budget to make sure that we got the experience we were looking for without overspending. Our "budget" hotel was perfectly comfortable, and the attention we received from the safari planners was amazing. We were very impressed with their dedication to our trip being incredible! We had really good time in Rwanda from Kigali to the Nyungwe National Park, and then in RDC, from Bukavu, shipping on the Kivu lake to Goma, climbing the amazing Nyiragongo and the wonderful visit to the gorillas in the Virunga Park. Once-in-a-lifetime experience.

My tour to Rwanda earlier this year is probably going to be my highlight of the year all thanks to Kumbukumbu tours! I had a whole experience of the cultural tour, very very amazing and absolutely interesting!! Then came the Musanze Caves. Uuuuuuh!! You have too experience this to uderstand what it felt! Obed of Kumbu Kumbu tours made me feel like a valued customer, he ensured that I got an awesome place to spend the night, that I got all the passes to the park without a hustle and that I was well catered for. Obed is definately my to go to person in Rwanda. Would definately recommend him to anyone. So if you are stopping by Rwanda, definately halla at Obed! He will sort your everything!!!

Memorable 3 Weeks in East Africa
I wanted to visit Rwanda, Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Uganda in one trip. In early 2018, I arranged a customized program for the coming November with Obed – who was recommended to me by a fellow traveler. Originally from the DRC, but now residing across the border in Rwanda, Obed had the contacts and expertise to make my plan happen. In addition, he was competitively (and reasonably) priced. From the planning process to the time of booking, I received nothing but excellent customer service. Obed listened and made sure to deliver. He appropriately took care of the required permits for me – no problems anywhere. Communication was never an issue – he replied to my emails and messages in a timely fashion and made sure to address each question, comment, and concern. This continued into the tour. He showed up on time every single day. Obed’s friendly, welcoming personality and energy radiated from the moment he greeted me in Rwanda. Conversations were easy – we shared the same sense of humor. He was informative, yet listened to know when I had enough. Furthermore, he was able to answer all of my questions without any hesitation. He made sure that I was comfortable throughout the trip – whether in the car or checking in to the accommodations. The vehicles used for transportation were comfortable. Most importantly, he was flexible. Anytime that I had an idea, or wanted to add or get rid of an activity, he made it happen. No questions asked. Overall, Obed was a delightful guide and lived up to (and exceeded) my expectations. I strongly recommend Obed and Kumbukumbu Tours if you need a fixer or a tour operator/guide for the area.
