The gorilla's made the trip amazing
Our driver was Samuel, and he had a lot of knowledge and the first day of our trip, he did talk quite a bit about animals, culture, and pointing things out along the way. The first stop for lunch was fine, but he disappeared for a significant amount of time, and said nothing. So we were waiting, wondering where he went. The places we stayed were excellent, and had really great food! The gorilla trekking experience was phenomenal, definitely bring proper hiking pants, which would have been nice to know. We had booked our tour late, but an email saying what to bring/expect would have been nice. Also, after our 7 hour trek, Primate Journey was supposed to provide water and there wasn't any, and after asking to stop for water, he said he'd get it later (I think he didn't feel like going outside in the rain), which he never actually did get us water. The last day, Samuel was supposed to pick us up at 9:30 am and didn't show up till 11:40 am. Very frustrating, as neither of us wanted to be driving in the dark (8 hour drive ahead of us) and we had called and texted him, with no response. Overall, the gorilla experience was incredible but I would never recommend Primate Journeys to get you there

Wonderful, the guide was well vast with the wildlife and geography in general.
Amazing experience and service! Trekking the oldest group of Gorillas with the youngest baby at 4 weeks was a thrill. Loved every moment of it.

Primate Journeys, Africa Ltd are an exceptional tour operator in Uganda they handled my 5 day solo trip to Uganda with a lot of professionalism.
There is no one single moment of that trip I felt alone because their services from airport transfer, to hotel booking and even game drives. They ensured I felt at home and enjoyed my experience in Uganda. They are your best bet when travelling to Uganda because they show you not only the traditional safari but also the offbeat tracks of Uganda which gave the whole trip a whole new experience.

Simply the best! We saw wildlife that other tourists didn’t get to see. Sam went beyond with us!
Communication was effortless through Whatsapp. Sam and his team were very professional and really went beyond our expectations. It was a pleasure to get to know Sam and hear about stories of Uganda during our long drives. Primate Journeys Africa are simply the best. They were recommended by Americans who live in Uganda so if locals use them, you know it’s good. He took us off the beaten path to see plenty of leopards and lions, even leopards fighting! I would recommend them anytime.

Excellent Service.
Primate Journeys Africa hosted us in Uganda for over a week. They were extremely attentive, went beyond the call of duty, and made sure our entire team had a positive experience. They took special care to expose us to experiences unique to Uganda that will be remembered for a lifetime. All hotels and bookings were excellent, and as North Americans traveling to new territories, we felt secure in their hands.

One of the best experiences in my life
I had a 14days- trip in Uganda including Hiking in the Rwenzori-mountains, a Gorilla-Trek as well as a lots of seeing the country by drive. Also individuel stops and due to the Guide's contacts experience of Real life and not only so called "touri-hot-spots"
Communication with my Guide Samuel was always totally uncomplicated, warm and clear. We had great discussions about everything. Individuel wishes and ideas were directly fulfilled, i never felt unsafe with him! He was also always reliable, cared for food and water and was always on time. Service was great and totally worth the money i spent.
I absolutely recommend Primate Journeys if you plan a trip to Uganda or East Africa! Whatever you wish or need: you get more than you expect!
This was a very special experience in my life and i can't wait to repeat!

Journey of a lifetime
This one is probably the most challenging review I wrote. After two weeks' journey in Uganda with Sam and Anna, we felt like leaving our long lost and finally found family members and not our guides. We booked a 13-day long tour across Uganda, and we met Sam the night before starting the journey. You know that feeling when you meet a new person and instantly feel that you have known it for a whole life. That's was our situation. We explained that we would like to know about history, culture, way of life, practically everything we can learn about Uganda and Sam made impossible. He answered every our questions showed us local culture, local food, different tribal traditions and relationships. He drove us not between parks and lodges but between Uganda's enormous cultural and ethnic diversity, though long and complex history and its consequences. For us, that was not only an incredible safari but also a journey through space and time, through rituals and traditions, through real Uganda. Safari and parks experience was perfect since Sam's, and Anna's eyes are so trained that we had a feeling that they could spot steady animals from a few kilometres of distances while sleeping. We learned a lot from them about birds, wildlife, different vegetation and climate, and animal habits, so we spent evenings renewing the names of the spotted animals. We stayed and fantastic lodges and camps but having lunch with Sam's family was a memorable experience for us and not only because Sam's mom is a great cook. All our activities were carefully planned, so after two days we have just relaxed knowing that we're in perfect hands and that Sam and Anna will lead us to the best places they know. Gorilla tracking and community walk at Bigodi were unbelievable activities, first because of the most exciting trail we ever had with machetes cleaning the jungle in front of us. Second, it allowed us to literary enter to one community's everyday life, habits and traditions. Maybe because of that constant contrast - where we would start our day in perfectly organized lodge viewing on the crater lakes, with warm toast and cold butter melting on it, and just a few hours later had lunch (on our insisting) in a local pork restaurant eating by hands, listening to local music sitting around barley sturdy plastic table- allowed us to enjoy our Uganda journey even more. For us, this was a journey of a lifetime, thanks to Sam and Anna. They understood us and adapted the classic itinerary according to our wish to see Uganda from all possible angles. The last day I felt that I was living there for years, feeling of understating which I didn't reach even in the countries where I'm a regular visitor and all that thanks to two of our fantastic guides and now hopefully friends for life. Thank you for everything.

Samuel is exceptional in all aspects of tour operation; he truly cares.
I knew Primate Journeys from a previous trip to Uganda for another purpose and chose them for a trip for my husband. Samuel and team carefully plan each trip and make detailed arrangements to bring the unique beauty of this precious region alive. From lion treks to an afternoon with chimpanzees, hot air balloons over the Serengeti to chasing rhinos this team knows how to connect you with the experience you hope to have all while ensuring your comfort. They are a special bunch. It’s a true blessing to know them!
