Visit to Kibera..like a local experience!!
I visited kibera with my friends, just to experience the Kenyan culture and see the way people live in the slums. I had an amazing time of touring kibera and eating ugali with sukuma wiki (local delicacy). The people of Kibera have a very warm demeanor despite the many challenges they face. I highly recommend this visit with Like a Local Safaris :)

A walk around Nairobi
My trip was only short as I was attending a conference.I heard about Maurice from a colleague, so gave him a call.
I was glad I did. He really is a pleasant man who made the walk around the city and the visit to the museum not
only educational but not interesting too.

Unusual food but great company
It was our first trip to Kenya and likealocalsafaris didn't disappoint. Maurices friendly and polite nature made it easy for us to relax and enjoy our time. We started with lunch at Carnivore restaurant where I tried out Ostrich meat - definitely a different experience. Then we went onto the Giraffe centre. Nairobi has alot to offer and we hope to re-visit again... Perhaps later this year. One thing is for sure.... Maurice is the only guide we would seek.

Great company - Great guide
Although we chose a basic option, the tent was clean, the bed was comfortable and the shower was hot. The chef at the Masai Mara lodge provided us with delicious meals both morning and evening. We were never in for lunch, but am sure the food would have been just the same. Maurice was not only a great guy but clearly enjoys his jobs and sharing what he knows with people. He reminded us to take water and to enjoy the safari - which we did. Its amazing how much land the reserve covers. You get a feel from television that its big, but there is big and there is Masai Mara big.

Extremely good guide and very enjoyable experiences
We took two tours with Maurice. The first was the walking tour of downtown Nairobi that was very interesting. Maurice has a lifetime of local knowledge that he freely shares. We saw the key points of interest and experienced the city up close. We enjoyed Maurice’s company so much that we signed up for a day trip to Nakuru National Park. What a great time we had. Maurice was very very good at spotting animals and our photos were great. He is an articulate, intelligent, kind man who works diligently for his clients. We will definitely contact him again when we return. It is with great confidence that I recommend Like a Local Safaris .

Fantastic
The whole process with Like a Local Safaris was one of the best travel experiences of my life. From booking to payment, pick up and drop off, I can't say anything but the best about Like a Local Safaris. The service was prompt, timely, and provided a much better than expected experience. Our guide Jose took the effort to make sure that we were stocked with plenty of water and would clean off the dust from the inside of the jeep. His enthusiasm and knowledge really made our trip an experience we will never forget. It was obvious from very early on that we chose the right company for our safari to Kenya.

African Adventure
We did a 6-day, 5-night driving safari maasai mara, lake Nakuru and amboseli. We had a wonderful guide with a good eye. Plus, we always felt safe and well-taken care of, whether in the parks or on the road. We saw an unbelievable amount of wildlife: too many zebras, giraffes, Cape Horn buffalo, antelope, and elephants to count, plus lions, leopards, baboons, hyenas, hippos, jackals, African wild dogs, and more. Every day was better than the one before. We opted for the Moderate price bracket, but the accomodations were so wonderful, I couldn't imagine the Luxury bracket being any better! All in all, I can't imagine a better safari experience.

A Memorable Safari in Kenya
The Safari was well planned in advance with all timely arrangements as we had booked. The resorts turned out far better than expected. He went an extra mile to make our Safari memorable and exchanged lot of information and conversations with us. Maurice, made sure to keep in touch and followed up with us and Boni daily to see our trip is going well and safe. Not only did they ensure that we reached our destination safely but also followed up on our arrival back to India. 10-day Safari in Kenya and Tanzania
We (my husband and I) did a 10-day safari through Kenya and Tanzania with Like a Local Safaris. Maurice provided us with information before our trip and regularly checked whether we had questions or needed more information. When we arrived in Kenya he picked us up from the airport because it was too early for the driver. He told us about our itinerary again to make sure that we would be content with our safari. This was a very clear story. He recommended us a private safari for the first seven days and that was definitely the best decision we could have made! The next day our driver Boniface picked us up for a tour in Nairobi, which Maurice arranged for us to do before the start of our safari. Boniface was a great guide, very knowledgeable about Kenya and especially the animals in Kenya. We had a wonderful safari. Boniface listened very well to our wishes and he taught us so much about all types of animals (especially also about birds). We communicated with Maurice throughout our safari to update him on how we experienced our safari. The accommodation was as we expected: comfortable and clean. Some accommodations were a bit more luxurious than others, as near some parks only camping is affordable. We felt that Maurice made sure to prepare us for the more basic campsites, and there was a balanced alternation between more luxurious and basic accommodations. Food was generally good, although you should not expect incredible culinary experiences (you will mainly have buffets with rice, potatoes, meat, ugali, etc.) The game drives were absolutely amazing!! Boniface made sure we went to the parks on time to see many animals. In 10 days, we saw the big five, over 70 lions, and just generally many animals living in their natural habitats. A truly unforgettable experience, and with Like A Local Safaris you truly get great value for money.
