Reliable, affordable, excellent
Me and my wife did a 4 day safari tour and a 1 day kilimanjaro hike through polecat safaris. The contact with James was perfect and we really enjoyed our trip. Johnny, Freddy, Nazir and Gothfried were amazing drivers, guides and chef.
Highly recommended!

Amazing experience with a trusted company
I made with African Polecat a 4 days Safari (Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro) on the end of January 2022 and the experience was simply incredible. The only regret was why I did not book a longer Safari!!
I organized all the trip with John, who also works as a guide at Kilimanjaro trek for the company, and he was all the time taking care of me. He is available via Whatsapp all the day long and he answered in a perfect Engligh all my doubts while planning the trip. Booking a trip like this from abroad it's complicated but with African Polecat all was really easy. I highly recommend booking with them!
I decided to go for the camping option and all was great. The tents were really nice and the food was tasty. You definitely feel like home while being in the heart of the African savanna surrounded by a dreamlike landscape. What else can you ask for?
Hope to see you soon Jonh!!
Un fuerte abrazo des de Andorra!

Good experience in Tanzania on 7 days safari
Fantastic safari in the north of Tanzania! Seven days is really perfect for this country, because there is so much beauty. Although we had to get used to the 'African way', we have seen that James organizes his safaris well and you always have a contact person to coordinate your trip with (he is super accessible if there is anything). This trip is highly recommended if you want to see many different animals and go on an adventure.
Do: do the walking safari in Arusha, it's really cool and book a tent instead of a lodge if you like adventure ;-) We even had elephants walking through the camp. That is an experience you will never forget.
Don't: don't book the Arusha Tourist Inn hotel, but Forest Hill Carnival hotel in Arusha. The former hotel is by far the worst hotel we've ever stayed in (without atmosphere, dirty, very noisy). We didn't sleep a wink here, so that's not a nice start to your safari. Polecat will help you book another hotel!
Goodluck (our guide) and Isaac (cook) were a top team during our safari week. So we definitely want to mention them. Goodluck always managed to bring us to the right places with special animals and Isaac cooked for us fantastic and provided us with cool Maasai stories!
General tip for booking your safari: Almost all organizations book a driver and jeep that are filled with people from different groups. This allows your group to change per day and your program can change on the spot. That requires some flexibility and at those times it is extra important that the organization you have booked with has its affairs under control. That's certainly the case with Polecat, so you know you've seen and done it all by the end of the trip. Oh, and bring your own binoculars. Most cars have none or only 1 for the whole group.
All in all a special experience in Tanzania!

Very good company and great trip! Everything went smootj
The tour has been great, with smooth communication, good guides, lots of wild animals seen, very good food and nice camping site. For your information, the majority of the tours proposed by safari companies are generally joining tours, which means that people are merged into groups and groups are changing. For instance, during our 6days safari, we joined 2 groups and 2 different groups. This is a common practice and it's nice, even if a bit surprising initially. Otherwise, I strongly recommend this company and especially the guide named Malicia.

Incredible!
We had a great experience with African Polecat. Booking a trip like this from a distance is not easy and James was very communicative and made everything clear, which was decisive when choosing their company.
The safari itself was absolutely incredible, our guide Aron went over and beyond to show us the most authentic wild life in the Taragire Park and Ngorongoro Crater.
We were super lucky and saw some really rare and raw scenes, we came back to Arusha completely amazed.
Food was great and the accommodation organised by them was too.
Super recommend!

Incredible choice!
From start to finish, the African Polecat Safaris team was highly responsive, attention, and supportive for an exciting and well-rounded experience. Once I filled out an interest form online, James messaged me on WhatsApp, ready to answer my questions. I still wasn't sure of my schedule and preferences, but he accommodated my needs and customized my safari based on the number of days I wanted, time of arrival, and need for hotel stay. As opposed to other companies who only followed up to see if we would book with them, African Polecat Safaris was patient and responsive to our needs. Our guide for Tarangire National Park, Aron, was absolutely incredible--highly experienced and was able to spot lions and leopards in the most difficult to see spaces! Our guide for Ngorongoro Crater, Joseph took his time to show us as many different animals as possible, even through the cloudy rain. Both days, the experience surpassed my expectations, and Aron and Joseph shared a lot of context and history about both the animal population and the Maasai people living in the area. Each day we had homecooked meals brought into the parks, and the lodge we stayed in overnight was comfortable with a full home-cooked buffet. When I expressed interest in doing something in Kilimanjaro the day after my safari, another team member John was able to add me to his one-day Mt. Kilimanjaro hike last minute. Traveling solo can be intimidating, but African Polecat Safaris made me feel I was always in good hands and have the most exciting and beautiful safari experience. I highly highly recommend them to anyone!

Best Choice !!
We did our search and concluded to have a 3 day ( 2 nights ) safari from Arusa to Serengeti and Ngorongoro at the end of November.
James was ALWAYS there answering all of our questions no matter how silly or not they may seemed.
He organised us to stay in lodges instead of Camping ( of course with an extra charge but this was what we wanted to do ) and actually was able to change the schedule of the organised Safari 2 days before the safari in order to please us.
In addition, when we asked for an extra excursion before our flight, he suggested the Materuni village with the coffee beans and the coffee experience instead of a day hike in Kilimanjaro . We LOVED the extra excuersion!
John his driver for the excursion was super cool and friendly, always there to answer all of our questions and willing to explain more about their culture.
We loved our choise and are thankfull that we found African Polecat Safaris, James and John .
DEFINATELY suggest them ! Reach them, explain in detail what you have in mind, what you want them to prepare for you and feel relaxed that everything will go as planned.
