Excellent
Safari was great. We saw a lot of lions, leopards, elephants and other animals. Our driver made sure that we saw all the animal up close. All the time in the safari they were nice and taking good care of us. Also the food was great. I really recomend them. It was once in a life time experience.

An expert in wildlife, nature and culture with a wonderful personality
The African Polecat Safari changed my life! This experience is the most incredible adventure in every way. Our guide, Manfried is the best you can find. He is a true expert and professional. Manfried’s knowledge of wildlife, nature, and culture is amazing. There was not a question he couldn’t answer! His personality is also so wonderful that it felt like saying goodbye to a dear friend.
In the privacy of our own vehicle, we enjoyed so many animals, all day every day. My favorite sighting included a pride of lions teaching their cubs to feed on a recently hunted water buffalo. Luxury accommodations were wonderful. The Jungle Pearl was like a sanctuary on earth, and I’ll never forget the sunrise and elephant just outside my door at the Heritage Luxury Tented Camp. Thank you to all the Maasai people I met working and living in Tanzania. Thank you to Mow and Manfried and Thank you African Polecat Safaris. (I hope Sean and I see you again someday!)This was an adventure that I will never forget.

Excellent coordination and made efforts to show big 5
Day 1 - Was picked up from Arusha Airport by our tour guide Mr Moses along with African Polecat safari owner Mr James. Both of them were very cordial and made us comfortable. We were taken directly to Tarangire National Park where we saw Elephants, lions and different types of impala. We were given a packed lunch in the national park and continued our Games drive where we were able to see a few more animals and Birds. We were taken to an accommodation in MtoWaMbu and served dinner.
Day 2 - we had our morning breakfast and started to Serengeti National Park, We were accompanied by our chef Mr. Dennis, Most of day 2 was spent reaching Serengeti and we saw multiple animals on the way such as Lion, Wilderbeast, Zebra and impala. We stopped on the way near Ngorongoro entrance and had our packed lunch. We continued to Serengeti for our games drive and tried spotting as many animals as possible before reaching to Pimbi public campsite for our Night stay which was thrilling as we could hear the Lion roar close to our campsite and also various other Animal calls kept us awake throughout the Night (The Night sky was also mesmerising with a number of stars visible)
Day 3 – We started early to try and catch the sunrise in Serengeti which was great. Our guide made an exceptional effort in driving us around Serengeti where we were able to spot a Leopard up close and had the chance to see 3 cheetah trying to search for an animal to hunt, We also saw Hippo, Elephants, Widerbeast, Zebra and Giraffe. We went back to our campsite and had our brunch and left Serengeti for our next campsite for the night which was Simba Campsite. Simba campsite was picturesque. We had our dinner which was prepared by Chef Dennis to end our day.
Day 4 – We started day 4 early again with a wonderful breakfast and drove to Ngorongoro Crater where we spent the next half day trying to spot various animals. We saw a number of animals such as Lion, Elephant, Pumba, Wild Buffalo, Hippo, Hyena and Flamingos (Missed to name a few other animals) We had our packed lunch near a small lake inside the crater along with stoke and other beautiful birds for company. Post lunch we were driven to Arusha Snake Park which the kids enjoyed a lot. Night stay was arranged in Karibu Heritage House which was really good.
Day 5 – We again started early and were driven to a Hot Spring close to Kilimanjaro airport where we spent around an hour taking some photos, The Hot spring is a must-visit place if you can swim as it’s a very beautiful place. We were dropped back in Arusha Airport for our flight back.
James was in constant contact with our guide Moses and us to make sure the trip was very comfortable, Moses our trip guide put a lot of effort into making sure we saw as many animals as possible and was very well versed with all the national park and knew where to drive to spot the big 5. He also explained a lot about each national park and also mentioned different details about all the animals that we spotted. Our Chef Dennis made an extra effort to prepare vegetarian food for us on couple of days as per our request.
We enjoyed the trip along with our kids. We know whom to contact now to have a great safari holiday in Tanzania
Note – Please discuss your food preference with James in advance and would not recommend the Public campsite if you are going with kids below 5 or 6 years as it gets complete dark inside the tent which made my daughter scared. No lights are allowed inside the tent as it is inside the national park and lights can attract wild animals near the campsite.

Best Safari Ever !
The Safari was incredible. Throughout our tour the service offered was ensured that we needed nothing.
I was in contact with James (the organizer) who set up our program and answered all our questions.
Benjamin was our guide for the 2 days of the Safari, he explained the processes very well and gave his best to see the BIG FIVE.
Important point on his excellent driving on very complicated paths to have the best position to see the animals !!
In short, I recommend African PoleCat Safaris for their XXL service!!

A well staffed and professional local safari company
We really enjoyed our 7-day safari experience with Polecat Safaris. From the first contact with James he was really professional and took all of our requests and questions seriously, accommodating all our needs flexibly and well. The team that handled out trip, which included our guide Manfred and cook DVD, were super good guys and we really enjoyed both their company, and their good work and local knowledge! It was also clear that the company has built up good relations with other local providers along the way, including in Mto wa Mbu (where the cycling tour with Goodluck was awesome), the Jungle Pearl Resort (fantastic), and the Materuni coffee and waterfalls tour. The vehicle was good, though some of the tour was not always that comfortable because the infrastructure in the Serengeti is not that great (roads, campsite quality) but that is not the responsibility of Polecat. Overall would highly recommend this company and thanks to James and especially Manfred for a memorable experience!

EXCELLENT ORGANISATION WITH A WONDERFUL GUIDE
We chose African polecat out of so many operators, because they are owned by a local (let's support he local business). Also they gave us a really reasonably priced fly in and fly out option (they picked us up at the hotel on Zanzibar and dropped us of there) and they were quick in responses and very reliable. Feel free to check out the places to stay and communicate them to James. He will adapt the itinerary accordingly. Also feel free to say where you wish to stay for another night (we stayed in Serengeti for two nights and it was magical).
Let me say this was the best experience of my life. Of course we saw so many different animals (you cant even imagine how many) but also our guide Manfred made this trip really special. He fulfilled all our wishes and went the extra mile (literally) to give us the best experience. He was so polite and kind and funny and educated. He told us not only about the animals and nature but also about the country and its people. He trully brought Africa closer to us. We have seen the big five (all animals at least 3 times except for Rhino which we saw once). If you are abut to book a tour, ask James if Manfred could be your guide. You won't be sorry.
What I liked about our itinerary was that it included enough time to actually see all the animals and at the same time experience all of the national parks. We flew in to Serengeti and then drove towards Arusha, where we flew from at the end of our trip.
All the drinks, food and everything else was provided by the tour operator and the hotels. I would recommend Moyo tented camp (an elephant and a giraffe visited it while we were eating lunch) as it is new and not so crowded. The car was really comfortable. I would recommend to bring at least one shirt for each day as it gets sandy because of the road. Also bring some sweaters as it tends to get colder at night.
