Efficiency plus - very prompt replies to any queries, and well organised trip
5/5

This was probably the best trip I have had - booking was straight forward, any queries were answered very quickly. The transport to and from Johannesburg was on time and comfortable. We had a tent (ridge ) , which was 5 star glamping - very roomy, AC, Kettle and tea/coffee, very spacious bathroom and shower, and there were no signs of any insects at any time.
The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly - and we saw all the big 5 - all the guides around the park would check with each other as they passed as to where animals were : the food was of an excellent quality; and the staff were so friendly and welcoming.
it was a friendly atmosphere with all the guests , and we have kept in touch with some of those we met, and still meet up periodically to talk about our trip.
The trip was certainly very good value for money, and I would recommend anyone thinking of such a trip to take the Mzansi Experience.

Lovely tour
5/5

The staff at the Boteti Tent Losge were amazing. I can’t say enough good things about their kindness, efficiency, and dedication to making us feel welcome. The location was perfectly situated on the Boteti River and provided a serene view of the water fowl and occasional crocodile. The helicopter ride over the Okavango Delta was the BEST helicopter experience o have ever had. We saw lots of animals and the guide was very helpful. The evening Mokoro ride was very eventful and peaceful all at the same time. Our polers did a wonderful job keeping us safe from a pod of angry hippos. The grounds of the lodge are very natural and unmanicured. I had a real sense of being out with nature. I highly recommend this lodge.

Mzansi were flexible in tailoring their package to the timetable we were tied to. Initial difficulties in arranging payment were met with numerous email exchanges as they endeavoured to find a solution, which ultimately they did. They were also flexible in meeting a timetable for payment that suited us. All aspects of the tour were explained fully and accurately. Customised times for shuttles were set and met. When we had disruptions to our plans when flights were delayed they managed to re-arrange our tour within 24 hours and found us a hotel near the airport at a cost within our modest budget. The rescheduled tour went off without a hitch. Finally, when our credit card was stolen on the last day of the tour, they were extremely helpful in helping us transfer funds to pay for outstanding sundries at the hotel/lodge. Pricing for the tour was very competative with alternative suppliers. in summary, they went out of their way to smooth over all challenges we encountered on the trip. The trip was delightful. Highly recommended.

Nice Accommodation, Poor Safari
3/5

Most of the value of this 2-night package, which is higher than most, is in the accommodations, a fairly luxury fixed tent on a platform with private toilet and shower, at a nice lodge with a pretty good breakfast and dinner included.
The mokoro ride my first afternoon on the river next to the lodge was actually better than the more-hyped full-day "safari" mokoro ride on the delta the next day. There were plenty of birds, some hippos close by, and a beautiful sunset at the end.
The "safari" mokoro ride on the delta the next day first required a long, bumpy ride to get to the launch site. The actual mokoro ride through thick reeds was just okay. Not as many birds and the hippos only briefly appeared a long way off and quickly disappeared. The mokoro then landed at some remote spot and my guide took me on a long "Bushwalk" that was basically pointless. For the entire two hours we walked there was no wildlife other than a few random birds. The only thing that made it remotely interesting were some animal skeleton parts that looked like they'd been there for decades. My guide wanted to walk me a long way off to another area where the animals "might be", but I declined as my mobility was not up to an even longer hike.
Even if there had been animals, I question if making such a trek on foot a long way from any help with an unarmed guide was even a good idea (we did see some lion tracks).
The only thing that salvaged the day was that on the long, bumpy vehicle ride back we came across a herd of elephants.
The other safari option in this package was a Full Day Game Drive, but I learned from other guests that while there was a decent amount of wildlife, the drive to get to them was even longer, bumpier and more taxing than the one I took.
Three positives were my mokoro guides Kaiser and Carrie and my driver David. They were all very amiable fellows.

Hi Nicholas,

We value your feedback and are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the luxury tented rooms and lodge. As with any safari tour, there is some travel involved before arriving at your destination. We clearly disclose the Camp’s location in our initial email correspondence and uphold a high level of transparency with our travellers – answering any questions that they may have after a bit of research is done. We kindly request you to consider that the abundance of wildlife during a mokoro safari or bushwalk is beyond our control. Please bear in mind that you are venturing into their natural habitat where they roam freely. Our experienced guides carefully select island stops within the Okavango Delta, aiming to maximize the chances of encountering animals while prioritizing the safety of our travellers.

We did initially provide you with a comprehensive package, offering more opportunities for animal sightings, and later honoured your request to change to a much smaller package to accommodate your limited budget. We regret to learn that you faced mobility challenges during your experience. However, it is important to note that we were not made aware of any mobility issues on your part. Had this information been disclosed to us, we would have been able to make appropriate accommodations and suggest alternative activities that require less physical movement. Transparency about such matters is crucial for us to provide the best possible service.

Warm regards,
Mzansi Experience Management

Flexible, professional and full of dedication
4/5

We had a great time travelling through the Mzansi Experience.
Okavango Delta & 2 day Safari trip in the bush were definively worth while as well on human side than on wildlife discovery.
Thanks to our guides that proved to be real professionals.

Excellent value for money especially as a solo traveller. Accommodation in Kruger was excellent (bumpy roads but otherwise no problems!) food and hosts were wonderful. Communication between myself and company (thank you Zelda) was also wonderful. Can highly recommend booking with Mzansi. Thanks again for a perfect trip.
