3 day budget safari Serengeti + Ngorongoro NP
We just came back from safari tour and it was awesome! The organization was perfect. We had budget option (sleeping in the tent) but one night we got lucky and slept in the cabins, which was really thoughtful and nice from them, the people from the company really care about you and try their best to make sure you feel the most comfortable. The driver/guide is very professional, knew many things about the animals and the food was tasty. I very recommend this company!

excellent
We just returned from our beautiful safari, we visited Serengeti, ngorongoro, and tarangire! We were very happy with the organization of the whole safari, everything was perfect, even Rashid the cook and Daniel the driver were very kind and friendly, as well as helpful. Furthermore, the travel organizer helped us resolve a problem we had with the airline. Everyone is super careful. Choose this agency with your eyes closed and you will be super satisfied. Thank you so much Crater Explorer ❤️

Great experience with our driver Peter
I booked 3 days Serengeti/Ngorongoro in tented lodges and it was amazing.
Our driver Peter chauffeured our group of 6 for three days, accommodating our wishes and reacted fast when there was a tip on the radio about an animal viewing. We saw 4/5 of the big five. We managed to see mama cheetah teaching her cubs how to hunt, gnu and zebras playing and more!
As this was not a private tour, but a group of 6 different people, some were a bit more demanding and expected to do a game drive at 5-6am, which didn’t make sense as it was raining and dark. Peter did his best to manage different people in the group and do his best.
The food was amazing, the comfort was great and we only got stuck in a mud once, despite heavy rain the entire day.. even that was an experience! Would do it again!
Thank you Peter and Ema, for organising this and making my experience unforgettable:)
Budget friendly, local flavor, no frills tours and guides
My friend and I did the 6 day Machame Route on Kilimanjaro, a day trip to Tarangire, and a day trip to Mataruni waterfalls/coffee farm. We were very satisfied with all of the tours. Emmanuel was very responsive and accommodating to all the last minute plans/changes. The drivers were always on time, and delivered what was expected from each respective trip. Be advised however, that much of the prep for Kilimanjaro is your own responsibility, so do your own research on what to bring - there are plenty of lists online but some notable things to include would be: 1. water filtration throughout trip 2. rain jacket, rain backpack cover, AND poncho 3. clothing layers (as opposed to one big article of clothing) 4. comfortable daypack with plenty of support. 5. quality headlamp with extra batteries.

Amazing experience! Perfect execution!
Create Tours did a fantastic job with their safari tour. We did a 4 day tour and visited Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater and had the best time! We got to see all of the big five and ate amazing food. Our accommodations before, after and during the tour were done really well and everyone was friendly throughout the tour. I would definitely recommend Crater Tours to others!
Authentic Tanzania experience and great value for the money.
Crater Explorer is a great value with kind people who help experience the wonders of Tanzania. Their guides and porters are friendly, profesional and focused on you having a great time.
I highly recommend them if you want to have a more authentic experience at a lower cost. While they don’t have the newest gear, and schedules/plans can shift, they do provide personal attention and are flexible to work with.
Do not expect “luxury” and “westernized” experiences of the more expensive outfitters which have the newest gear, modern amenities and cookie cutter offerings.
Suggestions:
1. Bring more cash than you would expect, while there are atms and some places accept credit cards it’s not reliable
2. Having a way to filter your water is critical (such as Grayl Bottle)
3. Do your own research prior, people are responsive but not always detailed
4. Expect power to go out in the towns most days 7p-10a, if not more often
5. Expect to be in vehicle for a few hours as things are far apart; police check points are common and your driver handles them
6. Keep Hakuna Matata (no worries) in mind as things will change, but it’s all works out
If climbing Kilimanjaro:
1. Bring cash to tip about 15-20% for guides and porters; they depend on tips and earn them (only newer USD$ as they don’t accept older bills)
2. This is a useful gear list (https://followalice.com/knowledge/kilimanjaro-packing-list)
3. Rain gear, poncho and bag cover are key, even not during rainy seasons
4. Convertible pants, full zippered rain pants and other layers easy to take on/off are key as the weather/temperature change multiple times during a day
5. If you can, bring older gear/clothes to give to guides/porters afterwards; they depends on donations for all their gear (headlamps and batteries are gold!)
6. Sunscreen early and often, especially the higher you get
7. Choose the route which best meets your goals; each route has its pluses and minuses
8. Physically prepare prior, you want to be in shape enough to enjoy the experience, not just survive it
9. “Polé polé” (loose translation “slow and steady”) is key; each day by itself is easy but they add up and you want plenty left in tank for the summit
Enjoy! It’s a once in a lifetime experience
