Safari without worries
5/5

I would like to share my experience I had with Eyes On Serengeti Safaris & Tours. I booked a 6 Day private Safari tour in Tanzania to see African wildlife for the first time.

Eyes On Serengeti is a small and still new company. The owner and manager Richard was very responsive both in e-mail as well as on whatsapp during the tour. He organized the tour and accommodations and made sure everything runs smoothly. Any question or doubts I had were addressed promptly.

My tour guide, also named Richard, was very professional and knowledgable. He put a lot of effort in making me comfortable during the trip. He is calm, polite, helpful and very excited about spotting wildlife. He is also able to adjust to the needs of the guest, communicates fluently in English and informed about the program of the day. He is taking care of the guests and drives very responsibly.

Overall, the standard of service that was provided was consistently on a very high level. Especially in current times of worldwide pandemic, I was grateful to have chosen a reliable tour operator. I would definitely book with Eyes in Serengeti again and recommend Richard as tour guide. Thanks to both Richards for making my stay in Tanzania such a positive experience!

One of the Great Trips of my Life
5/5

Richard was absolutely impeccable at communicating and working closely with me to plan the trip to my precise liking. I am a seasoned traveler from USA, so I had high expectations on this trip. I went on an 8 day private safari trip with him, and everything was thoroughly planned and catered at every step of the way. He picked me up from the airport and from there explained in great detail what was going to transpire over the next 8 days. He entrusted me with a very intelligent and knowledgeable guide, also named Richard, who was able to answer almost any question I threw at him for the 8 days. The journey included stays within the safari camps, and always witnessing the Great Migration. The safari vehicle was in great condition, and the food provided each day was prepared by each of the camps during the safari trips. This is something that no other safari camps provided. Normally they were given boxed lunch, but I had fresh, hot food. Coffee and tea were available throughout the safari journey and every day I was able to enjoy my meals with an impromptu picnic in the raw bush. What I loved most was that he truly cared about my well-being and he went over and beyond to make sure my stay was special, including providing a free upgrade at two of the facilities. Do not choose any other company if you want to be sure you have the most spectacular experience in Tanzania! 5 star company, without a doubt.

This was my second time traveling in Tanzania and Kenya. There is no tour operator more professional, caring, competent, or connected. Really, don’t look further, because you won’t find better.

Eyes on Serengeti are so professional and everything ran very smoothly.
5/5

We did a 5 night and 6 day safari with Eyes on Serengeti in January 2020 and it was absolutely unbelievable beautiful.

While planning our trip and after searching through the web and contacting several safari operators we chose Eyes on Serengeti.
They were the most prompt and detailed in their replies and they were more than happy to assist with personalising a private safari experience for 2, as we already had a rough itinerary worked out of places we wished to visit.

On arrival at Kilimanjaro airport we were greeted by Richard, one of the owners, who we were in constant contact with through WhatsApp, before and during the safari. When we met we straight away got on very well, he’s just a really nice guy.

The next day we set off and first visit was the Tarangire National Park where we saw many animals though mostly I enjoyed watching the elephants taking a bath in a large pond which was such fun.
Then Ngorongoro Crater and Conservation Area for a day, next day to Lake Masek and 2 days in the Serengeti plains. All of them are astonishing places.

There is quite a bit of driving between the parks, as they’re all a few hours apart, but our Toyota Landcruiser was modern, very clean and well maintained. The top popped up so that you could stand and see all around you and the extra hight really gives you a better view.

Godwin is exceptional, he is so familiar with all the wildlife and could anticipate how the animals would behave which meant that he always managed to steer our jeep into prime viewing position. I don’t know how he did it, but he was able to spot animals from very far distances as he was manoeuvring the jeep over very bumpy roads. He has a very good knowledge on all the different wildlife and ecosystems and answered our question about the culture, government and history of Tanzania, too.

I guess the wildlife sightings will be different for every trip depending on what’s around, but we literally got to see every animal we could have wished to see: giraffes, elephants, hippos, and even rhinos. As we were there for the migration we saw many many zebras, gazelles, wildebeests and cheetahs, hyenas and lions following them.

Godwin was great at knowing where to look for specific animals and gave us plenty of time once we spotted them to take pictures and observe. It really was amazing to see these animals out in the wild.

Eyes on Serengeti offers a variety of different accommodations at various price levels. We found our choices, to be pristine - some had showers open to the sky, I thought this was great.
The food was delicious and plenty and beer and wine was also included in the room rate. The staff and service is outstanding, the Tanzanians are all so friendly, welcoming and accommodating.

Overall it was an absolutely unforgettable trip.

I cannot recommend Eyes on Serengeti more highly! They were always responsive and helpful with all our crazy questions. They were so professional and everything ran very smoothly.

A unique experience that I will never forget.
5/5

We decided to visit Tanzania and the Serengeti and after a good few hours of research on the web, we booked a 6 day 5 night safari with Eyes on Serengeti. There were not many reviews for the company, as they are relatively new, but the communication was good and we felt that Richard designed our trip especially for us, taking into consideration where most animals would be in mid January.

We were met from the airport on arrival, and taken to our first lodge where we were briefed by Richard and Godwin. Both had excellent English, and after speaking with them for a short while all our concerns were gone, we knew we were going to get on, and we were excited about our trip ahead.

We set off in a modern, Toyota land cruiser with Safari roof and fridge, which was more than spacious as it was only the two of us. Our first stop was the Tarangire National park, which was an amazing introduction into safaris. We saw elephants bathing at the waterhole, others rolling in mud with their young having fun oblivious to us watching from just a few metres away. There were giraffes grazing beside the land cruiser, ostrich wandering past and a lioness in the tree.

Our next stop was the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, our first view was from the edge of the crater and is an African experience I will never forget. Our drive down just got better, passing Masai villages until we arrived at the crater floor where we saw lions, elephants, rhinos, buffalos, hippopotamus and much more.

Lake Masak was our next stop, another fantastic landscape, partially forested with grasslands, and a great spot for a game drive Our highlights were a cheetah with her three cubs, and a pack of lions. We were within a couple of metres of all these animals, yet felt safe at all times in the hands of Godwin our guide.

Our last two days were spent in the Serengeti, which is another world. We found ourselves in the middle of the great plains, not another toyota in sight, driving through the wilder beasts and zebras, discovering more and more lions, cheats and hyenas. We could have leaned out of the window and stroked a male lion, we were so close.

Godwin has 20 years of experience as a guide, he is a wonderful human being who is informative, funny and I think he really enjoys his job. He can also spot a great photograph and many times he positioned the toyota ready for the animals to walk into shot.

He made our safari a unique experience that I will never forget.

The peace of mind you need on a safari trip
5/5

I went to Serengueti and Ngorongoro with my father for 6 days. It was incredible: we saw lions and lionesses chilling in the plains after indulgence; an elephant herd with several babies playing on mud during a rainstorm (which kept us from crossing the road for 20min!); a leopard family climbing a tree to take a nap on its branches; the serenity of a lonely rhino in the fields; a real cheetah hunt right across the road (the little deer escaped 5 hungry felines); hippos fighting beneath surface to keep their territories; and thousands (if not millions - not an exaggeration) of zebras, giraffes, buffalos, impalas and (especially) wildebeests.

At first, I was concerned with logistics. Living in Brazil, we know stories of trips that go wrong given the expectations/reality spread when you visit such remote places. Everything can be a problem: language barrier, lack of infrastructure, unbearable food, mosquitos, the climate...

It all boils down to trust. You have to trust that the local travel agency will take care of you. And Eyes on Serengueti did that. They took care of everything. Given the year-end/pre-vacation hurry at work, I had little communication prior to the trip with Richard (one of the partners of EOS). But he was referenced by a friend, who gave me the confidence to move forward.

Our guide, Lumumba, was very knowledgeable, a good driver (essential given the bumpy roads - aka “African Massage”) and a great company. I was positively surprised by the quality of the lodges in Serengueti (Kati Kati Camp - super friendly people, very decent infrastructure for a camping site, and surprisingly delicious food!) and took a very invigorating massage (a real one) in our last stay (Planet Lodge - right next to the airport as our flight was pretty early in the morning). We had an issue with the WiFi in our stay at the Farm House (its usually terrible anywhere - don’t expect much connectivity during this trip - but it was especially bad there) and maybe not the best logistics as it’s a little far from the crater entrance. But overall, service levels really surprised me.

Eyes on Serengueti is a relatively new agecy. Richard used to work in a company that operates several hotels and camps in the region and started the business this year I suppose - that’s why they have so little reviews here. But I couldn’t recommend them more.

Amazing team and unique experience
5/5

We really enjoyed our short safari through Manyara and Tarangire parks. We were happily surprised to visit the parks practically alone and we saw all types of animals and amazing landscapes. Everything worked smoothly and the places we stayed at were great.
The driver did a great job at explaining everything, took great care of us and always managed to find view spots with no other jeeps!
Highly recommended!
Thanks to the entire Eyes On Serengeti team, we hope to see you again soon!
