The little engine that could! Never thought we’d find a safari company we could afford and ❤️
We were a family group of 6 that wanted to travel only with our group. We knew the area and animals we wanted to see and the number of days we could travel. To say that Sekanka camp staff were beyond our wildest expectations is an understatement. Our cook was constantly amazing us with homemade breads and treats made in a camp fire stove box. She fed all of us including a picky vegetarian, and we loved every meal.
Our leader Lowe was the kindest, hardest working man who would do anything for you - and did. He will always be considered part of our family.
Our Guide Eddie was top notch. He knew every single animal, bird and plant we looked at. He could spot a hidden lion in a split second that we couldn’t see for minutes after he stopped and pointed her out. He knew every road and path in every park, was patient with our questions and game for anything we wanted to do.
We really never thought we’d find could find a safari for just the six of us that we would be able to afford. Once we got to Africa we were still afraid that maybe it was too good to be true and no one would pick us up - but Sekanka was there for us every step of the way. We would go back in a heartbeat

The safari in Botswana was an impressive, intense, and unforgettable experience for us.
Our safari took us over 13 days from Maun to the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park. After two days, we continued to the Central Kalahari Game Reserve. From there, three days later, we went back to Maun for an overnight stay. From there, we drove to the Okavango Delta to the Moremi Game Reserve, and from there via Khwai and Savuti to the Chobe River Front and Kasan, where our safari ended after 13 days. I had planned the course of the safari myself and discussed its implementation with Sekanka Safari Tours (especially with Anna and Tepo) by email. Sekanka Safari Tours perfectly realized my ideas. Everything worked out wonderfully, and we (four participants) together with the Sekanka team (five people; one guide, one cook, and three camp attendants) had a marvelous time on this extraordinary safari. The costs for this custom safari were reasonable compared to other safari tours.
All four participants were of the opinion that they would go on a safari tour with Sekanka again.

Long drives over bad roads, getting very close to the wild animals.
The Land Cruiser was old, but robust and in good condition. Our guide was an excellent driver. He knew not only the roads, but also the animals and plants we encountered. We had all the time we wanted to take photographs. There was always a plentiful supply of drinks, and any drink requests were fulfilled immediately. Wine was always served with dinner, and it was well chilled at our request. The tents for the night were always set up by a small support team before our arrival. We usually stayed for two nights, and after the first night, the tent was perfectly cleaned and tidied. We had our own cook with us, who prepared perfect multi-course meals for us over an open fire. We sat together around the campfire before and after dinner. We were a small group, four travelers and five people to serve us. It was wonderful, and we got along very well with the service team.

Amazing team made it a fantastic trip!
We were a family of 6 looking for a reputable company to take us on safari. Many were not in our budget but we found a couple that could work. Sekanka was the best reviewed so we reached out to get more info. Anna was quick to respond and answered all of our many questions quickly and with detail. They gave us packing tips, and peace of mind that they had us covered.
Once we started our trip, we had an amazing experience. Our guide Eddie knew so much about the area and every animal and bird we encountered. When we got to our camp the setup team had everything set up including a happy hour table and shade structure to make us comfortable. We can’t say enough about the team, they went above and beyond our expectations and worked so hard in the heat. Great food (and fresh baked bread!) made it even better. The value for what we paid was off the charts, I cannot recommend them more, especially for first time visitors. Thank you Sekanka!

Well organised and exceeded expectations
I did an 8 day small group tour to Botswana and Zimbabwe. Compared to other tour operators this was great value for money. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful and easy to talk to. Nothing was too much trouble including ways to charge my camera battery whilst camping. He was very experienced so knew all the signs to look out for to maximise our opportunities to see a variety of wildlife. We got to see everything I was hoping for from a close distance. The team who put up our tents, provided hot water for showers and cooked for us were v friendly and efficient. The food was delicious and the accommodation comfortable. The campsites were in beautiful locations with animals passing close by. Transfers were seamless. I have travelled to over 80 countries and this was the best tour I have done.

Best adventure ever
It was a wonderful experience in an amazing country with a lovely crew. Great guide, super chef, and a fantastic team that prepared our camp beautifully every day. To see the wildlife of Botswana will be unforgotten for the rest of my life! This was a true adventure we will be talking about forever.

Great safari experience
I recently did a mobile camping safari with Sekanka Safaris and had a fantastic experience.
The team was professional, friendly, and provided everything we needed. The guide was very pleasant and an excellent driver, always ethical with the animals, though his wildlife knowledge was limited — as a guide myself I could fill in, but clients without prior knowledge might miss some details.
Overall, I highly recommend Sekanka Safaris and will definitely use them for future tours.

Excellent
Our 8 day Northern Botswana Safari was the trip of a lifetime. Our first Safari we were a little apprehensive but we needn't have worried Anna at Sekanka answered all our questions and offered valuable advice. We chose to do four days camping in the Okavango delta to start, our pick ups were always on time.
I would certainly recommend 'roughing' it a little if you are able, the lack of plumbing is more than made up for by the experience of living amongst the wildlife.
The game drives were phenomenal, Ben, our guide, was so knowledgeable and with more than 20 years experience he could read the tracks and had an uncanny ability to seek out all the best sightings. We couldn't have asked for better with Kathy the cook and the camp staff all doing fine work in the 'bush'. We saw 4 Leopards, a pride of lions stalking a buffalo herd, elephants, giraffes, hippos and countless other birds and animals.
After we left Ben in the Delta a short flight took us to the Chobe River, from here on we stayed in guest houses and hotels, all were clean and comfortable. A boat safari on the Chobe river was a highlight seeing hundreds of elephants, hippos in and out of the water, crockodiles and a lot more.
From there it was on to two nights in Victoria falls to see a natural wonder of the world, and a Zambezi boat cruise all perfectly organised by Sekanka. Give them a call , you won't regret it.

Fantastic experience and great value for money.
I travelled to the Okavango Delta with Sekana Safaris for 9 days in August 2025. That trip enabled me to do and see all the things I wanted to in Africa.
I enjoyed a combination of both 4 nights lodge accommodation and 4 nights of "comfort camping".
It certainly was comfortable camping, with a roomy dome tent and attached private en-suite bush shower and toilet.
The crew that travelled with me were excellent in every regard, and they all worked together as a team.
The guide went above and beyond and managed to get me in the right places at the right times for great photos of leopards, cheetahs and lions - and all the other animals that were just everywhere in Botswana.
The camp cook was a chef really ! Her meals were excellent, in both variety and standard.
The Cessna Caravan flight from Khwai to Kasane was a very welcome change from travelling on the park's roads, and a great opportunity to see the wider area.
The sunset cruises on the Chobe and Zambezi Rivers were most enjoyable, and Victoria Falls were spectacular, even in the dry season.
All in all, a fantastic experience and great value-for-money.

Personalized experience and good value
My family and I (including my cousin and my young adult daughter) greatly enjoyed our 10-day “camping safari” with the Sekanka crew (five nights of camping with four nights in various lodges/hotels). Our guide Matcha had an extensive knowledge of the animals and how to find them, and we were thrilled to meet so many lions, hippos, wild dogs, elephants, a couple of leopards and more. This was definitely a camping safari so perhaps not for everyone, but we are campers, so for us, this was “luxury camping.” The tents had comfy cot-style beds with mattresses and warm blankets, and a back enclosure with a cartridge toilet and a bucket shower that the crew filled up with warm water for showers. The three additional staff members did a great job of taking care of us, and I was especially impressed at how our cook Naim managed to rustle up excellent meals on an open fire. Also, my daughter must follow a gluten-free diet, and Naim came up with something good for Jen every meal. She was like a mother lion when hungry campsite prowlers rushed to eat the gluten-free toast (“That is for JEN!”). I would definitely recommend this company. Botswana has a true hospitality ethos; even when things went awry, as to be expected when traveling in remote places, we always knew that we would be well taken care of. We are so thankful that we were able to go on this trip as a family, and made many memories.
