UNFORGETTABLE!
My Tanzania safari was a dream come true. It exceeded all expections, and I cannot recommend It enough. Behind the scene, Obag and his team ensured that everything ran smoothly, from transfers tò setting up the accomodations. This effort of these remarkable people made my Tanzanian safari not only unforgettable but also genuinely perfect.

Great tour discovering Mikumi & Udzungwa Mountains with Obag Safari’s
We had an amazing time with Obag Safari’s in Mikumi National Park and the Udzungwa Mountains. Our guide, Obed, was easy-going and always made sure we were comfortable. He was happy to change things up to make our trip better. Besides the safari, we had a fun hike in the Udzungwa Mountains and even got to swim in a waterfall! Obed didn’t just talk about the animals; he also shared cool stuff about Tanzanian life and history. It felt like we were on a tour with a friend. Would definitely go again!

Very welcoming, well trained and considerate
Obed accompanied me during my whole trip and it was definitely the best choice I could ever take for my first safari experience. I had a lot of fun and learned a lot too.

A great facilitator for a dream coming true!
#Safari
Me and my two children had a time of our lives with Obag!
Obid was a caring guide and did everything he could so that we would have the best experience ever.
He picked us up 5am in the airport when we flew into Dar Es Salaam from Europe. We drove to Mikumi National Park which is a long drive, but in a very comfortable car.
We got see wild animals driving through the park the first day and on our return.
The big Safari day was the best! Because of low season (March- April) there were only a few other tourists in the park. And this also made it so much easier to actually see all the different spices.
In addition, Obid and his driver knew exactly when and where to go to see them. You must go out early in the morning as a start.
We were close up to many animals like elephants, zebras, giraffes, antelopes and hippos just to mention some. The highlight was watching a lion laying down under a tree after eating a good meal - a wildebeest. And to observe the way of life when all the vultures and a jackal finishing up the meal.
This day was a dream coming true.
The lodge we were suppose to stay in for our three day of Safari was over booked. But instead we got the best replacement in a lodge in the middle of a village where we were the only white people and tourists. Outside our lodge the daily life as we know it, was like a journey back in time to another century. We were so lucky to actually be apart of this community for a few days and to see how the authentic life was, and not just a stop in a Masai village where the set up is planned for tourists.
Thank you for a wonderful time, Obid!
Next time you must show us other parts of Tanzania.
PS: You must bring dollars to pay the whole Safari with. The transaction of money is mostly by cash wherever you go in Tanzania. Otherwise you will get a hard time paying for your Safari like we did.
For some of the money, I had to use the international online transaction system on my way out to Zanzibar to pay the rest. But Obid trusted us. However, it was very stressful, so always bring enough dollars!
Thank you again!
Best regards from
Ida, Iver and Eva-Kristin

Very patient, respectful and makes good effort.
It was as a lovely experience going on a Safari with Obag African Safaris. My partner and I visited the Nyerere (Selous) National Park in April 2023, which happens to be a low season and Eid fasting period. We were lucky that it didn't rain during our time at the park. We had close encounter with girraffes, zebras, monkeys, rhinoceros and buffaloes
But, it wasn't quite a big five experience, as we didn't get to see lions and leopards. Obed tried his best to find the lions but we gave up after several hours of searching.
A bit gutted with the Selous national park, as the management team needs to figure out how to make the lions and leopards visible in the parks. The road from Dar Es Salaam to the parks was very bumpy and tiresome after a 4 hours ride to the park.
I highly recommend Obag African Safaris but won't recommend Selous national park for anyone hoping to get the sort of experience that you will find in the Kruger national park

The experience has been very good and the trip incredible. All the perfect organization, we did many excursions for a good price, very complete and the safari was great. I recommend it and if I return I will repeat with this company.

Friendly, correct and flexible!
We did a one day safari, which meant many hours on the road (pretty exhausting, nevertheless a great opportunity to experience the towns/rural areas as well as the surrounding nature on the way!) as well as beautiful encounters in the national park, as nature did not disappoint!
The drive from Dar es Salaam was way longer than announced, which leads to the one aspect that could be improved - providing snacks and/or previously communicating that the included lunch ain't enough for what in the end were ~20h altogether would be great!
Other than that the communication regarding the booking etc. was easy and correct, the pick up punctual.
We have felt very safe despite the crazy traffic and we've been making stops whenever we've expressed needing one! A much appreciated flexibility!
The value for money was decent, we'd wish for a bit more input regarding the animals but in the aftermath it seems that our initiative was asked for, sth our tired brains missed - so if you wanna know more - ask! :)
The tour in the park was great, we were being given enough time to enjoy whatever has caught our eye so we've enjoyed every minute of it and it felt very satisfying!
All in all an enriching experience we are thankful for and would recommend!
Thank you for making it possible!

Very friendly, competent, hakuna matata with an eagles eye for finding animals
We felt always safe and secure. Pickup from the airport and transfer to was perfect. The guide (Gilbert) simply knows everything about the parks and the animals. Especially also about all sorts of birds. He loves his job and he is committed to preserving the beautiful nature of Tanzania. Obed and Gilbert also helped us with any special needs we had. For us this was the very first safari, but they helped us to overcome any fears we had. The jeep is a grand old lady, but perfect for safari. We enjoyed standing in the car, under the hood, safe from the sun, feeling the light breeze and watching for animals. The lodges we stayed in were spatious. beautiful, clean, served good food and helped us relax and prepare for the next day's adventures. We totally recommend!
