5/5

Safari in Africa is what I will never forget. Our guide Henry is quite experienced. You can always believe in him. Tell him what you want, and he will try his best to make you satisfied. Hunting, animals coming alive, wildebeest crossing the river, sunset….everything! Come and feel the wind of Africa and I definitely recommend Henry as your guide. You will never be disappointed.

embrace the nature and live wild

I feel extremely honored to be guaranteed the chance to set off into the heart of African grassland. The past week felt like a blur of wild and colorful memories, which left a deep impression on me. In the grassland there will be no distance, you can emerge yourself into beauty, because there is just you and the wildlife. Lions sleeping, leopards hunting, giraffes eating…….to me, these scenes will always be a symbol of Africa.
My guide Henry is highly experienced. Kenya seems to be totally remembered in his mind.
If you want to go to Africa,I totally recommend him as your guide.

Our tour guide Henry on our Africa trip was very professional, reliable, good at communication, and made everyone feel very safe
5/5

Our original plan was Nairobi-Amboseli-Bogoria-Nakuru-Nawasha-Masai Mara-Nairobi. As August is the hottest month for tourism in Kenya, the hotel was overbooked. Henry quickly helped to adjust the itinerary and went to Naawasha first to avoid the situation where there were no hotels available. Although we were delayed on the way, the whole trip was still very good. Henry was very familiar with the scenic spots and explained them very professionally. He was very familiar with the habits of the animals in the scenic area and was always able to squat in a favorable position in advance, allowing us to observe the habits of the animals and the wonderful scenes of predation up close, which was great.

After a 15-day trip from Naivasha to Masai Mara, Dume Africa took us to see elephants, lions, cheetahs hunting, wildebeests migrating across the river, etc. Basically, we saw everything we wanted to see. Our tour guide Henry was very nice and friendly! He was also very good at chatting. He had strong professional knowledge, a complete understanding of the names and habits of animals, and his predictions of their movements were super accurate. Basically, he could drive the car to the best animal observation point every time! Highly recommended! (ps: Every hotel is also very comfortable)

After screening more than 10 Safari companies, we finally chose Dume Africa. After the perfect trip, it proved that this choice was completely correct. Henry led us on a 10-day, 9-night trip, which was perfect! From the tranquility and beauty of Lake Naivasha, to the dancing flamingos at Lake Bogoria, to the rhinos in Nakuru, Mount Kilimanjaro and elephants in Amboseli, and the shocking animal migration in Masai Mara, every place was intoxicating. The itinerary was well arranged, the service was considerate and thoughtful, and the tour guide Henry was professional and enthusiastic, allowing us to deeply appreciate the charm of Kenya. This was an unforgettable trip. Thank you very much and recommend choosing Dume Africa! For the tour guide Henry, I think his strongest ability is to choose the most correct route when the animals appear, park the car in the most suitable position, and recognize that we can have the best view to observe the animals.

This is our second safari with Dume Africa. The trip was executed glitch free and all our needs and wants were managed with excellent care. We travelled to many parks and accomodations were wonderfully handled. As I was somewhat disabled on this trip, our guide went above and beyond to see to my comfort and needs. Will recommend Dume to anyone interested in a safari in their service area!

Treated Us and Cared for Us Like Family
5/5

We had the most amazing trip to Kenya and Uganda -- all made possible by Dume Africa, and especially Henry, our guide. Henry worked with us for more than a year putting together the best itinerary -- and, he was so helpful in making great suggestions for activities we had overlooked. From meeting us at the airport, to driving us across the country, to giving us great information about animals, plants, and various sites -- every detail was addressed. My wife broke her knee and it "went bad" right before our trip -- requiring a knee replacement when we got home. Henry adjusted everything and took precious care of her -- helping her, changing the itinerary, and giving her special activities or service when she could not participate in something that the rest of us did. Henry's colleagues and staff were also great -- we had a wonderful trip through Nairobi National Park and great reception service in Uganda. Henry also helped us when we ran out of money to find the right bank that could help us. We won't travel to Kenya again, unless we can have Henry as our guide!

A breathtaking, educational, and wildly fun adventure!

Dume Africa and Henry (our guide) were wonderful to work with on our safari vacation to Kenya and Uganda. Henry's unceasing knowledge of the wildlife we encountered added unexpected depth to our experience. His willingness to accommodate our more intricate needs and requests was similarly unwavering, and allowed all of us, regardless of physical ability, to enjoy Kenya. Beyond this, Henry was always in good spirits, whether it be a joke, a fun fact, or a compliment, he made sure every moment in Kenya was memorable. Please use Dume Africa if you are thinking about visiting Eastern Africa, you really can't do better.

This travel agency is reliable! Recommended to everyone!

We are a family of three. We took our 12-year-old child to Kenya to experience a unique trip during the summer vacation.
Because it was the first time to book a trip in this way, I was very cautious. I found Dume Africa Trails half a month before the trip. The owner Henry was very enthusiastic and patiently answered every question I had, and gave reasonable suggestions. The price was also very fair.
The driver and guide he arranged for us were experienced and friendly. He always took us to see the animals in a good position and tried his best to meet our needs. We found the famous Big Five in Africa, and also saw the classic scene of wildebeest crossing the river in Masai Mara. We were also lucky enough to see the whole process of lions hunting wildebeests in Amboseli! It was wonderful! It was really an unforgettable trip!
The experience of Safari really depends on luck and the driver. I recommend Dume Africa Trails to everyone!
I just returned to China. I am writing and sharing. Friends who want to know more can add my WeChat shydreams. I will tell you everything I know, haha

A wonderful experience
5/5

My experience with Dume Africa was nothing short of incredible.

We did the 8 day safari in late June 2024 that went to the Ark in Aberdare National Park, Samburu Simba Lodge in Buffalo Springs, Ol Pejeta, Lake Nakuru, and of course the Massai Mara.

This was me and my wife's first safari and we are from the US. Because Dume wasn't one of the companies with 1000s of reviews and because we had never before travelled to Kenya, we were a little paranoid about getting scammed somehow, but everything turned out perfectly fine. Henry (the owner) was really good about replying to emails and we were able to pay only 30% up front via PayPal and then the rest of the 70% in cash upon arrival when our guide picked us up at the airport.

Henry paired us up with John (Muya). I let Henry know that my goal was to see as many mammal species as possible. I am not your typical safari client who just wants to see a lion and call it a day. I really wanted to see as many species of birds as possible, rock hyraxes, servals, dik diks, and of course all the other larger mammals. I am also a botanist and read research papers for fun, so I had much more intense goals for species I hoped to see than others may have for this experience.

With all that said, John did an absolutely amazing job. We literally saw almost every single mammal on my list of dozens I wanted to see except a handful despite being in Kenya in the low season. He was also great about stopping for not only the larger birds, but the small songbirds or wildflowers I wanted to look at, even though sometimes I wanted to stop every couple of minutes to photograph something. John is a mammal expert and if you want to see something, he will try his best to get you on it. I cannot thank him enough. We made sure to leave what we hope was a really good tip for him (Dume recommends $10 per day per person, but we tipped $15 per day per person). He was a genuine, really nice guy and we felt like we made a good friend by the end of the trip.

John's driving skills were also really good. He was able to get to animals quickly and closely, especially when competing with other drivers for animals in the more crowded parks. When we were in the Mara there was a fire that made a road impassable, causing drivers to have to go off-road through difficult, muddy terrain. He got through the obstacle no problem, but many others got stuck and they were requesting him for help as he's the more experienced expert. He's a pro.

The whole 8 day safari cost $1,850 per person not including tipping and misc personal spending, so the value for the money compared to other operators was really good. The Ark and Samburu Simba lodges were must stays and I highly recommend them for others as they are really nice lodges with exceptional service for a reasonable price. The other accommodations were only okay, but again, the value of the trip compared to others of a similar length was incredible. The Samburu area was our favorite. We got to see elephants from our room and then exploring the adjacent Buffalo Springs area was incredible. For being a desert, we saw in incredible diversity of animals and it was the best place to see elephants on our entire trip. And best of all, there were much fewer people compared to Lake Nakuru or the Massai Mara. If we would do this trip again, we would spend a little more per person to stay in nicer lodges and spend more time in the less traveled to parks, but for our first trip to Kenya on a reasonable budget it was perfect.

We also went to a Massai Village, which I was hesitant to do before going as I was concerned it would be very touristy, but it was one of my favorite parts of the trip. Seeing how they live and hiking with a local Massai guide in the bush was a really eye opening experience and we were the only ones in the village that day since we were their in the low season.

Some highlights of the trip include: Hearing lions at at night in the lodge and John miraculously finding them in the bush within 5 minutes of leaving the lodge, seeing a lion defending it's buffalo carcass from hyenas and vultures, John finding a recently dead elephant carcass and seeing the chaos of a huge kill sight like that, being chased by a bull elephant in musth jogging behind our car, finding a pack of hyenas that just killed a baby giraffe that morning, and so so much more.

Would highly recommend Dume and John!
