Extraordinary experience we‘ll never forget with the best team - highly recommended!
From the moment we got in touch with Iddy we knew we had made the right choice. Iddy responded super fast to our emails and was never tired to answer any question we had. We booked a private 6 day camping tour to Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorogoro, Lake Manyara. Payment ahead went very smoothly and reliable.
The trip was perfectly tailored to our needs and of our two sons (aged 8&11) who loved every minute of it. Our guide Erick never got bored of the endless question of our kids and surprised us with his extensive knowledge in perfect English and German. Our chef Albarick cooked up amazing food on a camping stove - always a highlight at breakfast, lunch or dinner time. Thank you both for making this trip so special for us.
We saw the big 5 in the Serengeti in one day! Thank you Erick for your knowledge of the area and your unbelievable eagle eyes :-) We can highly recommend a trip with Samora Explorers and have already recommended the company to anyone who asks us about the trip!

Reliable, timely reply, enthusiastic
Our guides Gadiel and Felix are very kind and helpful, always there to support me, they took very good care of me so that i could make it to the summit. The team is great, kind, joyful and trustworthy.
I spend a very pleasant time with them.
Super high recommendation!!
I did a four-day hike to the top of Mount Meru with Samora Explorers. This hike was the highlight of my trip to Tanzania and exceeded all my expectations. The team was fabulous: My guide Gadiel, the chef Mapunduki, and the three porters Benjamin, Rosa, and Abraham were the best crew one could ever get to do such a hike. Once again, thank you so much if you guys read this. Asante sana!
Here are some examples of how they will care for you if you go with Samora Explorers: Gadi watched my steps and made me feel safe to hike at such a high altitude. At each moment, he was aware of all external factors (weather, track, flora, fauna, etc.) and how I dealt with them. And it was so much fun with him, too!
I am a coeliac; thus, I cannot eat gluten. Can you imagine getting the BEST gluten-free food 3500 meters above Sealevel? Mapunduki made this possible. Each day, he prepared tasty food; I didn't eat the same dish twice. The moment of the summit was incredible, but the moments when we got to eat Mapunduki's food were almost as good :D
I could go on, for example, telling how Benja brought me fresh hot ginger tea when my throat was itching or how Rosa and Abraham impressed me, carrying all our belongings up the mountain.
But the best thing is if you experience it yourself. Just contact Iddy to talk about what you would love to do. He helps you with everything. I want to go back :)

Very professional and managed both the hiking process as well as the camping smoothly
We picked Samora from a list of three agents. From the beginning, we got the impression that service was important and Iddy who runs Samora went out of his way to put our minds at ease as well as provide information as requested (and promptly)
The 2 guides were both professional as well as understood the nuances of dealing with hikers who were not necessarily professional. The lead guide Gadi was exceptional, both in terms of how he managed the porters and the camp as well as the logistics, but also in the way he worked with each of us hikers. I would strongly recommend him as he brought a special element to the process. It's easy to ignore the element of food on these hikes, but Heric the chef was first class and churned out 3 hearty and tasty meals each day. Very important contributor to the satisfaction we got from the hike.
My one regret was not renting a private toilet (for $100 for the trip) as the facilities in each camp were not very convenient or hygienic. I would strongly suggest that you consider this.
The hotels we stayed in (Mrimba Palm and Charity) were basic and clean and provide the necessary comforts at reasonable prices. Be willing to accept non-availability of some items or minor inconveniences, hakuna matata!

Exceed my expectations!
I had looked at so many different tour companies and what sold me on Samora was all the reviews about Iddy and that I'm supporting a locally operated small business.
Iddy was highly knowledgeable and charismatic as a guide with a very inspirational outlook on life. I always enjoyed all our conversations. He also was thoughtful in checking in with our needs and adapting the schedule/plan on the fly to fit our pace.
He pays attention to the small touches such as refrigerated drinks, a well maintained car and warm picnic lunches which makes the experience feel elevated than the typical "packed lunch". The accommodation he selected for us was also perfect - clean, luxurious feeling, good hosts and good food! I felt that we got a more premium experience than I anticipated!
I highly recommend Samora for a tailored, premium and special safari experience.

A Remarkable Tanzanian Safari with Samora Explorers and Iddy
Our recent Tanzanian safari with Samora Explorers exceeded all expectations, thanks to our fantastic tour guide and safari driver, Iddy.
What truly set Iddy apart was his attention to customer experience, passion for his work and his deep knowledge of wildlife and Tanzanian culture.
As a skilled safari driver, Iddy navigated the challenging terrains of the parks with ease, ensuring a comfortable and exciting ride throughout. His patience and expertise in positioning us to witness wildlife in their natural habitat were exceptional. We saw all the big five within the first two days of our five-day Safari.
He thoughtfully curated an unforgettable experience for us, starting with his excellent choice of accommodations that perfectly complemented the adventure.
The thoughtful additions of stocked drinks in the safari van's mini fridge and the picnic lunch hampers Iddy provided truly elevated our experience.
Iddy takes great pride in crafting a personalised and unforgettable journey. If you're seeking a top-tier Tanzanian safari, we

Iddy was professional, knowledgeable and friendly.
Where do we even begin?! It is difficult to put such an amazing experience into a simple review. After researching many different Safari Guide options for our Honeymoon in Tanzania, we decided to book with Iddy at Samora Explorers, and we are so, so happy that we did. From the start, Iddy was easy to work with, responsive and made us feel very confident that we knew what we were getting and made the right choice. Right away, he sent us a professional, detailed daily itinerary with lodging and all additional details, which we found very helpful. After getting married, we jumped on an airplane, very tired, in the US and made the journey to Kilimanjaro airport where Iddy picked us up right away and brought us to our first hotel in Arusha. From the start, he was extremely friendly, professional and knowledgeable, which was a huge relief after our wedding followed by a 24 hour trip from Boston. We knew we made the right choice. From then on, Iddy was amazing. This would be my 4th Safari and I can say it was definitely the best, which could not be possible without Iddy and Samora Explorers. He took care of everything. The vehicle was cleaned everyday and in great shape. He always had food, drinks and everything else we may have needed. Meals were fresh and served daily. When others had premade boxed meals, Iddy always provided fresh "home cooked" meals, with plenty of water, sodas, wine and beers. We didn't have to think about anything. Each day, he picked us up on time from our lodging, which Samora Explorers sets up for you, and we went on amazing Game Drives. Samora Explorers knows the Serengeti and all other National Parks like the back of their hand! They are true experts! We saw tons of game, and the Big 5 in one day. We also recommend doing the HOT AIR BALLOON and BUSH DINNER, which Samora Explorers will set up for you and include in your itinerary. The Hot Air Balloon was the highlight of our trip! We can't say enough about Iddy and his crew at Samora Explorers. You will NOT be disappointed! We left our Safari with an amazing experience, a ton of pictures and memories, and an amazing friend in Iddy. Book this Safari now!

Excellent Kilimanjaro Company
Samora is a up-and-coming trek company that's looking to make a name for itself with the quality it provides. As a traveler from the USA, the owner and guide were easy to communicate with and made preparation simple. My guide was extremely knowledgeable on the flora and fauna of the national park, and was effective in helping me get to the top! The porters all know each other and the company takes pride in treating all of their employees ethically.

Our guide Iddy Kimaro enriched our tour with his zoological knowled and wise, adapted organization.
We did one of the Samora safaris a few years ago, and since then I have been thinking about how to repeat such a wonderful trip. Samora Explorers offers a diverse program of tours, between which it is not so easy to choose - after the first experience you actually want to make them all! The offer ranges from the tourist reception of the natural beauties of the country and insights into the life and culture of the indigenous people, to animal observation for the zoologist (I am one), to the mountain tour to the highest mountain in Africa. All the stops are unique highlights that will not be forgotten. You can experience the Serengeti, where the first modern wildlife film was made that won an Oscar, the Ngorongoro Crater (which for once is not a volcanic crater), the monument at Olduvai Gorge where the oldest human was found, Manyara National Park where the pelicans sit on top of the trees, lakes full of hippos, wild big cats on the hunt and boulders on which they rest ... Sometimes you even still see a black rhino, which has become very rare, and you feel happy about it.
But it is not only what you get to see, you also experience the wonderful way of presentation and personal attention from the staff of Samora Explorers. In our case, it was our guide Iddy Kimaro who enriched our tour with his profound zoological knowledge, as well as with wise, adapted, prudent organization.
