It's worth it to be here!
Yes... being back in Europe we still want to go back to Uganda with its nice climate and exoticism...
We understand that everyday life in this country is not as nice as it looks to tourists, but it is already in almost every tourist trip.
The moments with Lulu Safari in Uganda were great..even despite the fact that I suddenly fell ill with a high temperature (advice-wear masks at airports)-Lulu Safaris reacted quickly and changed the route, arranging extra days of stay in other hotels... Already in the first days we saw almost all the big animals - rhinoceroses, giraffes, buffaloes, elephants, hippopotamuses, chimpanzees.. we were not lucky with the representatives of the cat family, but probably the break in illness stopped us.. we did not complete the whole program...
About currency-it's take some time to understand UGX amount at USD or EUR, at the end of January 1 USD was approx. 3800 UGX, it's time for mathematic :)
Thanks to the guide Samuel - a very responsive, knowledgeable and professional guide, apparently the whole team with Elvis Masiga at the head is like that!
During the trip, everything went exactly, the accommodations are great, the food is even too great, the level of organization of the trip is much better than in some European countries... We plan to return to gorilla trekking, which we didn't do on this trip :)
Oh Uganda, Land of Beauty!

Amazing experience for solo traveler!
I am so grateful to Lulu Safaris for an amazing experience in Uganda and Rwanda! Coming from Costa Rica and as a solo female traveler, I was a little nervous about making this week-long trip to Uganda and Rwanda. But I really had nothing to worry about! From the very beginning, Elvis was easy to get in touch with, answering all my questions quickly and being patient with me as I finalized dates and made my final decision on traveling. I arrived in Kigali and they had someone waiting for me, and I was well taken care of until the moment they dropped me off at my hotel at the end of my tour. My tour guides, Audence and Simon (trianee), were both fantastic. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and open to sharing personal stories and answering all my questions. They were organized, always on time, and they knew their way around perfectly, using their strong connections to other guides, the hotels, the national parks, etc., to ensure the best experience for me at every moment. They were very sensitive to what I might need at every moment, and I felt very well taken care of 24/7. And of course, the places they took me were also fantastic! I absolutely loved gorilla trekking in Bwindi (Audence made it much better by checking with the rangers the night before and agreeing on meeting at an entrance to the park nearer to where my family of gorillas had last been seen the day before, so we found the gorillas early and spent a long time with them), I loved the game drive in Queen Elizabeth Game Drive Park, etc. All this said, it is important to go with an open mindset, ready for the unexpected. Things happen and plans change, and it is important to go with the flow. I found some of the changes in our itinerary ended up being some of the best parts of the trip. I can't recommend Lulu Safaris highly enough, and I hope to come back with my whole family sometime soon.

This tour exceeded our expectations
We went on an 8-day safari with a pick up i Kigali. Our guide and driver, Derreck, was knowledgeable, skilled and very competent, and he did his utmost to make us feel at home in Rwanda and Uganda. Starting out in Rwanda, we first visited Karagera Nat. Park doing a great boat trip (late evening), then Volcanoes Nat. Park seeing Golden Monkeys, and from there we went to Uganda. Our first stop was Bwindi Nat. Park, where we saw gorillas, and we also visited a local village. From there we went to Queen Elizabeth Nat. Park. The lodge, Buffalo Lodge, was out of this world! We did game drives, seeing tree-climbing lions, as well as a wonderful boat tour, where we saw elephants bathing. It was so great! From there, we went on to Mburo Nat. Park, with a great game drive and a hike, which was a great chance to get really close to the animals. Last but not least it is really Derreck’s efforts and great personality that made the tour such a success. The tour exceeded our expectations and we can highly recommend Derreck and Lulu Safari.

Uganda gorilla trekking via Kigali!!
We absolutely loved our tour. Gorilla trekking had been on the bucket list for years and it was absolutely incredible! We had Audence and Simon as our guides and they were wonderful so joyful and upbeat adding so much to our trip. We drove from Kigali to the Bwindi Impenetrable Forrest and the drive there through Rwanda and Uganda’s country side was stunning. We also saw golden monkeys in volcanos national park which was great! Couldn’t recommend this tour more and it made us really want to come back and explore more of Uganda as we only had two days in the country!

Fantastic!
I am so happy I chose Lulu safaris for my gorilla trekking safari! Elvis created a perfect itinerary for me and was always prompt and helpful in responding to any questions I had. My guide Smith made me feel welcomed as soon as I arrived and ensured I had an enjoyable and pleasant experience throughout the tour. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Lulu safaris to others and would hire them again on future excursions to East Africa. Thank you again for such an amazing and memorable adventure!

Fantastic trip to Uganda
My tour to Uganda with Otis was amazing. I booked a tour to do gorilla and chimp trekking and both activities did not disappoint. I also visited Queen Elizabeth National Park and Lake Mburo. As a solo female traveler Otis made me feel safe and comfortable throughout the trip.

Seamless Adventure!
We had a great time with Audence as our guide. He was thorough and most importantly safe. Helped us with border crossing into Uganda, provided plenty of water, and tips on how to manage the Gorilla hike. Highly recommend!

Look past the ONE bad review in TripAdvisor and look at the MANY great reviews!
Jun 2024 • Solo
I booked my trip May 13, 2024 for a June 2024 trip with Lulu Safaris Uganda not knowing much about their company other than their SPECTACULAR reviews. When EVERYONE is giving great reviews it says a lot about a company. I do remember seeing that ONE bad review on TripAdvisor from Madjula. There’s always one bad apple out there. When looking for a GREAT COMPANY to use for a safari or gorilla tracking don’t base your decision on this bad review. Look past it like me as there are MANY spectacular one’s. Mine included. I’ve traveled many times to Africa doing safaris and climbing Kilimanjaro. I can’t stress enough how important it is to judge for yourself when reading reviews. Had I not booked because of her bad review I would’ve missed out on a once in a lifetime adventure. In reading ALL of the reviews the guide she mentions as terrible was talked about positively in MANY of the reviews. I personally find it horrendous that such a negative review was given. An unhappy person trying to pull everyone down.
As for my review: it was nothing but exceptional. I booked my trip on a whim and Elvis, the owner of Lulu Safaris, was terrific. I changed my itinerary last minute and everything was still okay. He and his wife had my permits within a day. I did the gorilla habituation and regular tracking on my trip. It was a dream come true. As for air conditioning as Madjula complained about was no big deal. It’s Africa! You’re here for an adventure not to be pampered as if you’re in your own country. Live life and roll with the punches. Of the two hotels that I stayed at one had ac and one didn’t. Oh well! The one without was Bweza Gorilla Lodge. What the Lodge had was great people. Gavis and Judith made me feel so welcome and cared for. We had fires at night and had good fun. As I said, air conditioning isn’t a big deal. The fresh breeze was beautiful! The people make a difference not air conditioning. As for my guides I can’t say enough good about them. Charles and Stuart are their names. Incredible people! Charles is wise, super funny, a comedian, a dancer and an all around great person. He loves his job and communicating with his clients. It definitely shows. Stuart is a great photographer, soft spoken yet knowledgeable about many things. He’s caring and quite thoughtful. He gave me a gift at the end of my trip that is so meaningful. I will remember these “FRIENDS” for a lifetime. I tracked the gorillas with Stuart and he took many beautiful pictures of the trip. I’m truly going to miss the fun times! But as we all know all good things must come to an end unfortunately.
I’d like to thank Elvis, his wife, Charles, Stuart, Gavis, Judith for making my trip to Uganda very memorable. So much so that I cried at the end of my adventure.
I can go in and on but the moral of the story is that Lulu Safaris Uganda is a great company with great guides. They’re professional, funny, caring and love what they do!
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!
