Top class and well organised
5/5

Had an amazing experience and Sunworld Safaris did a fantastic job helping us enjoy the whole week. We had a first class service from start to finish and our guide/driver (Mwashi) was a wealth of knowledge and patience throughout. The consultant team at Sunworld were responsive to all our demands and requests and laid out a practical itinerary that ticked all the boxes. Will be using them again when we come back and have already started recommending them to our contacts.

Trip of a Lifetime
5/5

From the time we arrived until we were left at the airport, we were treated like royalty.
Our guides, Diger (in Nairobi), John Leng (Samburu) and Symo and Mario (Maasi Mara) were excellent and always on the lookout for how to make our trip special.
When DIger took us to the Elephant Sanctuary, he made sure that we had a great place to view the presentation, then took us to a wonderful restaurant for lunch and made sure we had plenty of time at the Kuzuri bead factory.
John met us at the Samburu airport and by the time we made it to Ashnil, we had already seen 4 of the special five, watched 2 jackals eating their kill while shooing off the vultures and had learned the names of several birds.
We checked in to Ashnil, ate some lunch and went out for a late afternoon ride where we saw a leopard and tracked it for awhile. Our waiter, Elvis was very friendly and helpful and when we decided to have dinner in our tents due to bugs, he very graciously brought our meals to our rooms.
During the night, we had a LOT of rain and we knew that the river was raging, but we went on the morning ride even though it was raining. The rain did not deter the animals and we were soon met with a giraffe standing in the middle of the road just waiting for us. After that we saw three families of elephants and lots of other animals. We had breakfast in the land cruiser as it was still raining.
Upon arriving back at the camp, we were told to pack up and were moved up to Sonara, a sister camp. The operative word being up, which was away from the river. Their staff greeted us warmly and quickly settled us into rooms. After lunch, we went on an afternoon ride and then had a wonderful dinner.
Breakfast the next morning and then we were off for a leisurely ride to the airport. Upon arriving later than expected in Maasi, we were met by Symo and Mario and taken to the Bush Camp where the staff quickly put together a nice lunch for us as they realized we had not eaten since breakfast. Then, out for an afternoon ride.
I cannot say enough great things about the staff at the Bush Camp. Joseph, the manager, left after our first day to go for a home visit and Mercy, Nelson and another woman stepped in and made sure that our every need was met. Donald welcomed us to all our meals and explained everything we needed to know about the food and the Professor was a great bartender. These two men made our dinners fun. And, what can I say about the food - as good as any I have had in a 5-star restaurant. I have told people it was like eating on a Viking cruise (which I consider to be the highest of compliments.) The food selections were varied and imaginative as well as delicious.
We had breakfast on our drives each morning except for the last morning when we opted not to go for a drive and to have breakfast at the samp. When I came down for breakfast, I could not find where they had set it up. And, then I saw a staff member that sent me over to the bar tent. There, I found that they had set up breakfast for the three of us right next to the river. A lot of trouble for three people, but what a treat!
We saw all the animals of the Maasi except the rhino. My friends at home could not believe all the animals that we saw. We saw several prides of lions, as well as 2 leopards and 2 cheetahs - one with small cubs, giraffes, elephants, gazelle, topi, oryx, impala, ostriches (with babies), monkeys, baboons, hippos, zebras, jackals and lots of birds.
I cannot say enough good things about the staff at Mara Bush Camp and all the guides. And, the guards who walked us back and forth from the tents were definitely appreciated and Doris met me every morning with hot chocolate. The staff was definitely the icing on the cake for the trip.
And the accommodations could not have been better! Gives a new meaning to tenting. 🙂
I have already given your information to several people and are recommending your company as the way to see Kenya.
And, I would be remiss if I did not mention the guide that we had on our last day in Nairobi. He met us at the airport, took us for lunch and some shopping and then, we told him that we would be happy to just go to the airport and stay there until time to leave. He left us at the airport at 4:00 and told us to let him know when we had our boarding passes. When we got over to the terminal, they would not let us in so we called the guide. He came back for us as he had not left the grounds and then took us to a hotel where he used his connections to get us up to the roof bar where we could rest until we could go back to the airport. Again, he did not leave the airport grounds until we called and told him we had our boarding passes.
From door to door, your company took care of us - through all sorts of weather.
Thanks so much for a trip of a lifetime!

Outstanding!
5/5

Our recent trip to Kenya was just fantastic! Our tour coordinator Carolyn and guide throughout our trip, Wilson Siele, were a delight to work with and be with. The accommodations were outstanding, having stayed at Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Eco lodges and Soroi Lions Bluff. The trip was so well done that I intend to book again with extended family in the near future. Really cannot say enough good things about Sunworld Safaris, Carolyn and Wilson! Asante Sana!!!

Sunworld Safaris, just great!
5/5

We are grateful to Sunworld Safaris for our most recent trip to Kenya. It was not our first time travelling with Sunworld Safaris and surely it won’t be the last time. They created a fantastic 14-day-programm for our trip to Kenya, and it was outstanding as always.
We visited Soroi Mara Bush Camp, Soroi Larsens Camp, Soroi Lions Bluff Lodge and the beautiful Diani Beach. We truly had an amazing time. If you want to discover Kenya in all its beauty and diversity with professionals leading the way, then Sunworld Safaris is most definitely the best and most experienced tour operator that we can recommend.

The camps and lodges selected were outstanding, their guides are experienced, reliable, trustworthy and professional in every aspect. As they own a fleet of four wheel vehicles (none older than three years) they run excellent road transportation all over the country.

What we particularly appreciated were the attention to detail like the re-usable water bottles, offered to us as a take home souvenir. Sunworld Safaris in general does a lot for sustainibility, they are committed to working with local communities in their excursions and otherwise and in turn educate in conserving the environment and aim to protect the existing parks & wildlife. During the difficult period of Corona in April 2020, they founded the Community & Wildlife Conservation (community-wildlife.org), a NGO that is dedicated to community development and conservation of protected areas. We were impressed with this mindset of giving back.
I can wholeheartedly recommend Sunworld Safaris in every way and would choose them any time again for my future travels.

Best company with wonderful lodges and a friendly staff with incredible knowledge
5/5

I have been in Africa regularly for over 30 years and have been on many safaris. Sunrise Safaris is one of the best companies I have ever met. The organization is perfect, the drivers are friendly and have an incredible knowledge of the history, nature and wildlife. In particular, the lodges operated by Sunrise Safaris are uniquely located. They also integrate the residents into the work and thus contribute to sustainability.
I can recommend the company to everyone!
Many thanks to the Sunworld Safari team for the unique days and experiences!

First class company with great service and wonderful guides.
5/5

We had great 3 days of safari at the Masai Mara Reservation in Kenya.
The vehicle was superb and very comfortable. Our tour guide was a wonderful guide, a great person and excellent driver.
He always made sure that we and our grandkids were doing fine. His depth of knowledge about all the animals, birds, nature, and culture enhanced our safari experience. We highly recommend Sunworld Safaris, their service, guides and value for the tour.

Top notch safari company and guide!
5/5

I recently booked Sunworld Safaris to take my parents and three school-aged children to the Masaai Mara. They were help and professional in finding the right package for us at our price point. My parents and children have not stopped raving about the safari now that they are back. They had an amazing time from the first moment to the last. Their guide - Labaan - was amazing. He was so good with the children, having endless patience to answer all their many questions about what they were seeing and always happy to share his extensive knowledge on the animals, birds, nature and culture. My youngest (4.5 years old) said that we should give Labaan "a trillion stars rating"! We would highly recommend both this company and guide.

Bespoke travel planning, great guides, reliable vehicles and the experience of a lifetime.
5/5

Peace of mind. That is just one of the priceless things (memories, once-in-a-lifetime experiences, irrepressible lasting joy, etc.) that you'll get from Sunworld. I knew I was in excellent hands with Carolyn as soon as we began planning our trip. She really listened to what I had in mind for our little family of 2 adults and a tween, and she never tried to upsell me, even kindly explaining places where I might save some money and other places that were worth a splurge. This is bespoke travel planning to the umpteenth degree, and it was still less expensive than its competitors by a long-shot. Plus I loved the fact that it's headquartered in Nairobi. That way, if anything goes awry (which it never did), they are right there! Carolyn was endlessly patient about all my questions as a first-time traveler to Africa. (Can I drink the water on safari? No. Will my bags be safe if I leave them with you? Yes.)

The trip itself exceeded our wildest expectations. The vehicles are awesome -- comfortable, reliable, rugged -- and standing up in the cruiser as it confidently made its way over water/land was our tween's favorite part of the trip.

Which brings me to our awesome, English-speaking guide, Felix. He is one of the best-natured people I've ever met (mambo, Felix!), and one of the most knowledgeable when it comes to African flora and fauna. He has a young family himself, so he was particularly sensitive to the needs of our kiddo. We loved him (and James, who was our incredible guide in Masai Mara) so much that they are family now, and we can't wait to see them again.

Sunworld, our gratitude is as boundless as the Kenyan skies. Thank you for a trip beyond our wildest imaginations. We felt that Nairobi is actually safer than most Americans realize, but that being said, from the second we met our guide until the day he dropped us off, I never worried ONCE about our safety and security, which is saying something when you're within striking distance of a huge lion. If you are considering a safari, please reach out to Sunworld -- I promise you won't regret it.

Sunworld has the best guides, especially Nick Maluki
5/5

We were lucky that Sunworld assigned Nick Maluki as our guide on our trip to Samburu. I could not have imagined a better guide for my first African safari. Nick was genuinely kind, thoughtful, and knowledgeable. Our four hour drive to Samburu went by quickly as we learned about life in Kenya from Nick. And then we got to the Samburu and Nick made sure that we saw all that it had to offer. His years of experience as a guide was obvious, but he was not at all jaded--he shared our enthusiasm for the animals with every sighting. And for those that love photography, he knew how to get all the right angles. The second half of our journey in Kenya was not coordinated by Sunworld and we knew that we were going to miss Nick. We were truly sad when we had to leave him behind.

The third part of my trip was again coordinated by Sunworld, and I felt grateful that Sunworld took care of every step, from airport transfers to hotel pick ups. Sunworld staff were always on time and always dependable. The only downside is that I would recommend that you have a good idea of what you want to do before contacting Sunworld. There was a bit of back and forth communication to get things all set up. But if you do know what you want, and where you want to go and when, go with Sunworld. And definitely ask to have Nick Maluki as your guide.
