African Traces: The Best and Most Personal Choice for Kilimanjaro
I’m sure every company is good, but why is African Traces better? It stands out because of its fully all-inclusive approach, personalized service, exceptional flexibility, and—it has the best price you’ll find!
After comparing more than 12 tour operators, African Traces wasn’t just the most affordable; it also delivered an outstanding experience that went far beyond my expectations.
Why African Traces is the better choice:
1. Spacious tents: African Traces provides larger and more comfortable tents compared to other companies. This makes a huge difference after a long day of trekking, ensuring you get the rest you need to enjoy the next day.
2. Truly all-inclusive: Everything is included. No surprise extra costs for private toilets, transfers, hotel stays, or other services. The price you pay covers everything, ensuring peace of mind throughout your journey.
3. Personal attention: Marko, the owner, goes above and beyond. He frequently checks in via phone, WhatsApp, and email to ensure everything is going well. Even before and after the trek, he visited me multiple times at my hotel to see how I was doing and if I needed anything. He even personally picked me up from the airport, making sure I felt welcome from the very first moment. His care and attention are unmatched.
4. Flexibility: My trek on the Umbwe Route was planned for 7 days, but we completed it in 6 days because we were ahead of schedule. As a bonus, I was given a free extra night at the hotel and a complimentary taxi ride to explore the local markets in the city on my extra day.
5. A true team experience: I traveled solo but never felt alone. From day one, I was warmly welcomed by the team of porters. We ate together, laughed, played card games, and shared stories in their tent. It truly felt like being part of a family.
6. Marko’s passion and experience: Marko started as a porter, worked his way up to a guide, and eventually became the owner of African Traces. His dedication to his team and clients is evident in everything he does. He runs his business with his heart.
My guide, Kevin, wasn’t just a guide; he became a real friend. We spent hours talking, laughing, and sharing experiences. Thanks to him, I felt like a valued part of the team rather than just another client.
The trek itself wasn’t difficult for me; it was an incredible adventure. The organization, the friendly team, and the personal touches from African Traces made everything seamless. I could focus entirely on enjoying the journey.
On the last day, Marko ensured the experience ended in style. While other companies simply stop at the gate, Marko hosted a celebratory lunch with the entire team, where I received my certificate, a bottle of champagne, and even a personalized medal! It was the perfect way to close this unforgettable experience.
In summary: African Traces offers the most personal, flexible, complete experience, and—without question—the best price for climbing Kilimanjaro. You’re not just a client; you’re treated like a friend. This adventure exceeded all my expectations, and I wholeheartedly recommend African Traces to anyone planning to climb Kilimanjaro!

Amazing trip!! Friendly private safari❤️
A few months have passed, and I am still immersed in a happy and wonderful safari trip, with beautiful grasslands, lazy lions, and clever zebras... I am very grateful to the enthusiastic Marko, who planned based on my needs and patiently answered my questions. On the day of the safari, he also gave us perfect solutions for our temporary changes in accommodation needs. During the 4-day trip, the accommodations were great, the vehicles were great, and our guide David was the best, he was the best in the Serengeti. Every time he took us to the best place to see the animals. He was so experienced that he could even smell lions in the air and lead us to look for them along the way. There is also a nice sense of ritual. At the rest stop, other people's lunches are boxed fast food, but we enjoy our lunch with fresh food, red tablecloths, wine glasses, and the envious eyes of other passengers ~ Thank you David. When we return to China, we often share with friends everything we have seen in Tanzania. I love it so much!! Miss it!!! I hope to return to the Serengeti. For new travelers, you must choose African Traces for safari!!! you will not regret it!
Unforgettable Kilimanjaro climb via the 6-day Machame route
I’m glad I chose African traces for my Kilimanjaro climb via the 6-day Machame route. Marko, the owner, was very responsive throughout the planning phase and made modifications up until the last moments to make sure all my expectations were met. In all, I couldn’t have asked for a better crew of people to help me reach the summit. The porters were simply incredible—making sure camp was meticulously set up before my arrival everyday. It was impossible to go hungry with the endless array of food and the many memorable soups prepared by the chef. My guide was knowledgeable and worked well with the rest of the crew. He even helped carry my daypack when i struggled on summit day, which made all the difference. In addition to receiving my tips, it was great to witness all the members of the team get their salaries during the giving ceremony. I had read stories prior to my trip about the exploitative practices of some of the tour companies, and was happy to know I chose a company that valued the efforts of the amazing crew. If I ever make it back for another Kilimanjaro climb or safari trip or Zanzibar beach vacation, I will definitely be using African Traces. Thank you for getting me to the top and back. Asante sana.

Really good and wonderful experience with African Traces.
Our safari was a 5-day trip. Marko helped us arranged it. Marko is really responsible and every time reply to me with a fast speed. Even helped us to get the SIM card. William was our guide, he is really gentle, friendly, and kind. He knows every detail of the animals, the culture and the traditions. He was taking care of us every time and he is really cared for everyone. Besides, William’s driving skill is perfect. We spent a wonderful time with African traces. We saw all the animals we want to see. My father even said he wanted yo stay in Tanzania for a longer time. We will definitely introduce our trip to the friends.

Unforgettable Travel
After comparing several suppliers and selecting a company from Marko, we communicated in detail about the itinerary and printed a copy to carry with me before going. This kilomanjaro trip was really unforgettable. The professional guide team arranged by Mark showed great care and attention to me throughout the entire process, which also reflected their professionalism. The various beautiful scenery seen during the mountaineering, as well as the infinite joy of standing on the mountaintop, may only be experienced after experiencing it
Mark is very responsible and even came down the mountain to celebrate together. I was very happy. Later days We also communicated and made arrangements in advance to make it Make it interesting。

A professional and customer-centered local tour company, you worth it.
African Traces was introduced to us by a friend from a social platform when we had a sudden idea to climb the Mount Kilimanjaro. After inquiring several different agencies including both Chinese and local ones in terms of price and professional services, we made a quick decision on following African Traces. Meanwhile, the more we got in touch with its boss Marko Mtui, the more touched and warms we felt on this nice man, a faithful Christian and considerative & experienced African tourist services provider.
The trekking guiding team, including guides, a cook and porters and all equipments from African Traces are all perfect and highly qualified. The team members are plain, capable and warmhearted. Thanks to their helps, we finally stood on the top of the African lands and enjoyed that attactive and splendid view, sunrise, clouds sea, glaciers, the power of nature, the spirits of brave and persistancy, so on and so forth.
Special thanks to our guide Kenny (spelt based on the pronounciation) who accompanied us the most, sharing 6-day memorable tortuous but happy journey, we talked about different lifes and hobbies, listened to each other's music lists, and encouraged a lot.
Hope African Traces continue to be a good and even the top tourist agency in Kilimanjaro, in Tazania, in East Africa to serve more and more clients from all over the world with its upmost sincere and quality. Hope people there live a better life. Hope Kenny achieve his goals. Hope everyone who climbs Kilimanjaro find and get what you want.

Wonderful, easy, knowledgeable, and fun!
Just did a one day safari to Tarangire Park with Marko and it was amazing. We saw zebras, lions, elephant, ostriches, and more. Marko knew exactly where to go in the park to spot each animal and provided a wealth of information about each group- mating, social hierarchy, feeding etc. He definitely has years of experience and knowledge to share. He also made it an easy trip with great lunch and easy booking. Great group to go with and most importantly they are from Moshi/Tanzania so supporting the locals.
Responsible, professional and with a great price
Marco was very helpful and available throughout the process of planning the trip and during the trip. The guide we had was very professional and answered any request we had with a great attitude. We have had an amazing experience and I highly recommend African Traces

Everything was organized, scheduled and thoughtful through every step. Daniel our safari driver was so knowledgeable and nice, he knew exactly where the good spots are. The Meru staff were amazing, caring and supportive. Ombeni the guide was so helpful, encouraging, and thanks to him we reached the peak.
