An exceptional tour operator.
A Having looked at many safari tour operators we chose Kihindo Tours and Safaris because of the quick responses we received from Winnie. She was excellent during the planning of our safari always responding quickly to our questions and queries, at any time of day.
Kihindo provided an excellent driver, Isaac, to pick us up from the airport and take us to our hotel. He was smart, polite, friendly and helpful.
Our driver and guide for the week was William. We could not have asked for a better guide. William was outstanding in all respects. He was friendly, polite, helpful and did a wonderful job of looking after us the whole week.
We visited three parks, Nyerere, Mikumi and Ruaha during the week and we found them, especially Ruaha, not as crowded as other parks we have visited in Africa but still provided us with excellent wildlife spotting opportunities. During these safaris William was always on the lookout for wildlife and would spot animals and birds that we couldn’t initially see. This wasn’t a problem as he always managed to guide us onto the wildlife he had seen. His knowledge about everything we saw was exceptional and he was always quick to explain about the wildlife’s habitat and way of life.
During the journeys between the parks William and I had many conversations about Tanzania, Africa and world affairs of which he paid a particular interest. William is a very intelligent and likeable young guide and, in my opinion, an invaluable asset to Kihindo Tours. If we do a safari again, we would want William as our guide.
We highly recommend Kihindo Tours and Safaris for your safari. All the staff were polite, friendly and professional. Thank you, Winnie and William, for making our safari week a holiday of a lifetime.

Brilliant experience, would recommend everyone
My girlfriend and I had an amazing trip and unforgettable experience with Kihinido Tours and Safaris for a reasonable price.
First I came in touch with Winnie, who answered me every question immediately. I felt free to ask everything, even if the question seemed dumb. She was very polite and professional, and the booking process was very easy and fast. Then she also considered our wishes, like additional breakfast and the pick-up place.
Then the actual trip started, and Michael picked us up from our hotel in Dar es Salaam. He was on point and very polite even if it was 4 am in the morning. We had a very pleasant 4-hour ride to the Mloka Safari lodge and a very nice talk with Michael. His English is very fluent, and he is also a smart person one can have interesting conversations with.
The Mloka Safari lodge was not very special or luxurious, but the staff was very polite and the food was also very delicious. After that we went on a full-day (9 am - 6.30 pm) game drive in Nyerere National Park with Michael and Tiko. For us the day was unforgettable; besides very nice and unique landscapes, we saw giraffes, lions, elephants, crocodiles, hippos, and much more. Michael and Tiko also told us very much about the animals, which was very interesting. Their passion for what they were doing was contagious.
We also learned much about their lives and Tanzania in general and told them things about Germany. We felt very safe all the time, and the two were trying their best to show us much. This game drive surpassed our expectations.
On the next day we had a boat drive in the morning in the Rufiji River, which lasted 2 hours. Luckily the boat was covered with a roof so the strong rain was bearable. We enjoyed this experience, where we saw hippos, crocodiles, and monkeys because of the unique landscape, but would not do it a second time. I would recommend talking to Kihinido Tours and adding an additional game drive in the morning instead of the boat drive, which I assume would be possible because of the flexibility of this company.
Ultimately the ride back was also very pleasant, and we talked for hours with Michael. He brought us to the airport in Dar es Salaam, and we arrived on time for our flight.
To come to an end, I would really recommend this company for a safari because our experience was perfect. Every person we were involved with (especially Michael) was very polite and professional. We also would really recommend doing a two-day (or longer) trip instead of a one-day trip like people who are staying in Zanzibar like to do. We also stayed actually in Zanzibar but came to Dar es Salaam for the safari and spent three very nice days on the mainland, which was the highlight of our vacation. I recommend everybody choose this company for a safari experience, and especially the people we were in touch with. Thank you for everything.

We had such a great time thanks to Kihindo tours. We got a 3 day package deal which had so many varied activities including safari and a waterfall hike. Mikumi makes a perfect 1 day safari! The accommodation provided was great too. Special shout out to Isaya who was our driver and was so kind and accommodating to us, we loved spending time with him!

Everything was perfect!
My boyfriend and I went on Safari in Mikumi National park from February 16th to February 18th. Everything was perfect from the train ride from Dar Es Salaam, the drive to Mikumi, accommodation and of course the game drive. From the time we booked our trip we had dialog with Winnie, who made sure we were well prepared for our trip ahead. She sent ut so much information about what to pack and expect on our trip. We also had dialog with her during our trip, which made everything feel so safe and she was always available to answer any question and help us if needed.
We were lucky to get to know Michael who drove us from the strain station to Mikumi, and back again. He was such a nice guy, who taught us a lot about the national park and answered any question we would have. Our game driver Jackson was also super nice, and he made sure we got to experience and see as much as possible during our drive. We felt well taken care of during our trip, and we would definitely book with them again.
Everything felt super personal, and the service was exceptional. Thank you for giving us an experience of a lifetime!

Had a great safari with Jackson as a driver he showed me a lot and told me a lot about animals and gave information. He was very social and very nice. Camp Bastian was also a nice experience

Hit every expectation I had as a first timer
Had a great experience with this team at the Safari. Only had one day to spare and managed to find this deal, which is a lot cheaper than booking a car ride. The whole event was organised by Minnie who guided me through it all via WhatsApp messages. She was very prompt with her replies to any of my questions throughout the day.
At first was picked up at my hotel by Isaiah, who was very kind and walked me through the whole day, helped me through the train station to get to the correct train.
The train ride was short and there was AC the whole ride so it didn’t feel too bad.
Once I got off the train, I had the pleasant Yauhubi to greet me and drive me to the destination. We had a great conversation on the way and even managed to see some local villages that sell nice souvenirs. Along the way, we were stopped several times by police who were looking for bribes but Yauhubi managed them really well so they did not bother us.
At the Mikumi park, my driver was Danford, a lovely gentleman with a very keen eye to spot many animals. Everywhere I looked online said that lions were a rare encounter, but Danford managed to spot 5 of them the time I was there, including one hiding inside a bush. Danford was very knowledgeable about the wildlife there and also made me feel safe and reassured. I managed to have an entire ride by myself and Dan lent me his binoculars to use throughout the journey. He even helped me take some great photos.
The only thing I cannot comment on was the food. There was a break in between for food, and the food looked and smelt lovely, but this was during Ramadan and I was fasting, so I did not get a chance to try some.
All in all, really glad I got to have this experience. I think a 1 day trip is enough for people who just want to get out of the comfort zone and have not been before. If you are a regular then maybe a longer trip would be great.

Amazing Day at Mikumi National Park
We had an amazing day at safari. Our guide Danford shared a lot of informations about animals so we learned a lot. We have seen all the safari animals and had great lunch at camp.
I really recommend Kihindo as the whole experience from booking through safari day and return back to hotel was perfect. Thank you all so much for great experience.
