Communications were fine except for one little hiccup in Cape Town which was resolved quickly and efficiently. The tour itself covered all the sights I wanted to see but would have liked to spend a little more time viewing the Naukluft Mountains, Spitzkoppe and the Organ Pipes which we did not see at all. The most disappointing sight was the Petrified Forest. One tree trunk and a few petrified logs does not constitute a forest to me. Accommodation and meals were excellent as was the very knowledgeable tour guide. All the comments about the actual tour were not the province of African Ubuntu Safaris but the outsourced Sense of Africa. I would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to visit Namibia.

Fabulous experiences and sights, seamlessly organised.

When we booked a trip to Africa through Cuan at Ubuntu last year, it was to be a 'one off' trip of a lifetime. Here we are, one year later, having just been back again, and it won't be our last trip.
Cuan put together such a good value trip for us to South Africa for our second visit, we couldn't resist. A week in Cape Town was a great start- we got our sleep patterns sorted, and there was so much to see and do. We felt very safe in Cape Town, and the scenery, day trips and eating and sightseeing opportunities were fantastic- and very affordable.
We then spent three nights each in two Sabi Sands properties: Exeter River Lodge and Kirkman's Kamp. Although we had been to Sabi Sands in 2015, this year's visit was equally as exciting. Wildlife in Africa present so many different experiences, there's never a dull moment, and Sabi Sands certainly delivers.
Cuan put together a very competitive package for us, at top quality lodges, and with fast and direct transfers between locations.
Booking through Ubuntu Safaris, everything worked seamlessly, even down to my special request for a particular room (#14) at Kirkman's, which Cuan forwarded for me.
Many thanks Cuan, this won't be our last trip!

A BIG thank you to Cuan for organising such a fabulous trip to Southern Africa. We are still on a high BUZZ after 2 weeks back in Sydney. Everything worked seamlessly from transfers, flights, tours to accommodation. His suggestions were perfect just wished we had stayed longer than the 20 days. Garden Court Sandton Hotel in Jo burg is a great location and comfortable hotel..Soweto tour was interesting and informative. Shindzela Tented Camp was so much fun..off road 4 wheel driving and seeing the big 5 first day!! The Kingdom Hotel at Victoria Falls was very authentic African style ..loved it!! It is worth a trip to Hwange and staying in luxury tented camps .. The Portswood Hotel in Capetown is well positioned and very comfortable with great breakfasts.. Can highly recommend Cuan at Ubuntu and will def be back for more safaris in the future!!!

Sth Africa / Vic Falls and Zambia Safari
5/5

My wife and I with our adult children and partners had a wonderful safari with Ubuntu Safaris in August this year. Cuan invested a great deal of time and effort into providing an amazing safari experience tailored to our needs. All aspects of the experience was totally memorable. Our accommodation at both camps plus Vic Falls was first class and this was matched by the service at each stay. The daily safaris and tour guides were excellent and they genuinely wanted to provide the best experience possible for us. We ate well, enjoyed the company of friendly staff and we felt safe and comfortable throughout.
We were met at the airport upon arrival and upon return at Johannesburg at the completion of our safari by Cuan's father, who was also an excellent host.
I cannot speak highly enough of the experience and I would certainly endorse African Ubuntu Safaris as a first class tour operator.
Cuan even organised a wonderful birthday celebration for a member of our family - an afternoon and night to remember!
Thanks Ubuntu!

I spent two days at Victoria falls and loved every bit of that. Cuan you done an amazing job at booking me the best there was and my guide there was the best I have ever had. Highly recommend him. Went on the BEST sunset cruise and a walking tour of the falls and also a safari. My Houseboat Chobe Princess. My dream come true and thanks again Cuan for getting me on there. Amazing not enough words to describe that. Just beautiful and the animals were beyond words. Everyone needs to go on this boat. Amazing at what you will see. My 15 days South Africa surprise was absolutely amazing. So beautiful. The scenery was just beautiful. The mountains were just breath taking. I cannot say enough about my experience on this tour and one I will never forget. My trip was excellent, well organised and exactly what I was looking for. Each courier or guide was on time and well prepared. Motels and Lodges were high quality and excelled in customer service. Locations were perfect for easy safari trips morning and evening, I was never disappointed. The consultant from African Ubuntu, Diederik, did a fantastic job of coordinating flights, couriers, accomodation and guides to deliver my perfect holiday.

We used Afican Ubuntu without any prior references and were very pleased with the outcomes.

We requested African Ubuntu to put together a trip encompassing Rovos rail to Vic Falls from Pretoria, Vicroria Falls, Chobe Game Lodge and time in two Zambian tented camps; three nights were spent in each venue including the train. They also assisted in booking a weekend away from Capetown in Franschhoek prior to us starting our arranged trip. We had previously arranged the CapeTown stay on our own to visit family. The visit was timed o fit into the hotter part of the year, just prior to the onset of the rainy season as game tends to concentrate around fewer watering places at this time. The choices made and the timing turned out to be spot on. - and tis is where their experience showed through. We were mat at each airport even if it was just for a change in flight to ensure our needs to catered for and no glitches occurred. each veue had its own safari arrangements but a cocsistenly high standard was met in all venues.

Amazing East Africa - Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda- life changing experience!
5/5

From the arrival in Nairobi our expectation of this holiday was very high. Having been on a bucket list for some time much planning had gone into the 16 days we had to see and do quite a long list of requests.
Cuan McLaren was an absolute expert in providing of suggestions on how to see all we wanted in a relatively short amount of time and maximise our experiences. Small flights rather than road trips was one example. The trip was incredible and all our guides charming experts on all things Africa. In particular the Lemala Mara mobile tented campsite a highlight for location and wonderful staff. Already planning the next safari, Botswana here we come!

Trip of a lifetime - Uganda and Botswana
5/5

This was our third trip to Africa but we had never been to Uganda before. All I can say is WOW!!!!!! We loved our experience. It was organised perfectly. We had never used this company before but so glad we did. the organisation was impeccable. Diederik communicated effectively before and throughout the journey in a very professional manner. We loved the accomodation, tours and all aspects of our holiday. Since we had been to Africa before, it was lovely to have our tour tailor made. We will be back and will not hesitate to book through this company.

great trip to Rwanda and Kenya
5/5

I booked through African Ubuntu Safaris for my trip to Rwanda and Kenya. Everything went just according to plan. I was met on arrival at Jo'burg by Gerard the local rep who gave me a book and some useful info, then at Kigali by a local representative ( of the local agency who were African primate safaris) and was introduced to my driver for the week, Sam. He was great-took me to the genocide museum then onto Sabinyo lodge at the Vocanoes National Park. This was outstanding accomodation and service and was probably the best of the all (bar one) excellent accomodations. The gorilla trek was hard but rewarding and the staff at Sabinyo go out of their way to look after you. We then went to Lake Kivu which was a beautiful drive(except for the long part where there were roadworks)and I was at Cormorant lodge overnight,. The setting was idyllic but the lodge itself lacked a few things. Next was Nywunge Forest lodge which was gorgeous, and a couple of walks/hikes to see monkeys and chimpanzees as well as a canopy walk high up in the treeetops(dont go if you have a fear of heights!!). Then it was back to Kigali where I stayed at the Serena hotel which was lovely. Then off the following day to the churches where masssacres had occurred, then to Nairobi where I was collected by the local rep. Overnight at the Boma then off to Laikipia where I was at Lewa safari camp. This was lovely and I saw lots of elephants, giraffes, rhinos, zebras and the 2 resident cheetah brothers. The organisation there was terrific and they matched me up on the game drives with 2 women of similar ages with whom I buddied up. This was a great bonus as it meant I had company for dinner and lunch.
The last stop was at Naboisho conservancy which was more "rustic" in the sense that the tents were in the open( Lewa had an electric fence around it) and little wifi. However, the tents were gorgeous(as were lewa's) and the managers outstanding(also at Lewa). Being small there was communal eating which was great as it enabled people to mix. The game drives were solo which was ok but I preferred to have company as at Lewa.
All the guides were excellent and the 2 walks I did with my guide and Masai warrior were really informative. There were quite a few lions there, as well as one leopard(so so beautiful) and 5 cheetah brothers. Also hordes of wildebeest, zebras and various antelope/deer species.
Everything was really well organised, the food at Lewa and in particular Naboisho was outstanding and they catered really well for me (vegetarian).
Diederick was a pleasure to deal with as he answered all emails immediately and gave really good advice about where to do and what to do, types of accommodation etc etc. Having heard some horror stories about internal flights, I was pleasantly surprised that everything worked so well. The lodges and airlines are in contact and the coordination is amazing.
The only downer was the airport in Nairobi which was the worst international airport I have ever seen!!
But that was one thing out of anyone's control!!
