Enjoyable hiking
Absolutely amazing! Was one of the best things I've ever ever done, make no mistake it was very very hard, especially summit night, however the guides are simply amazing, they are very motivating and look after you the whole trip with your blood oxygen level checked twice a day and throughout the climb they are checkng you to make sure everythng is ok.
The food is on another level, hot tasty and more than enough, I'm still in awe of the congratulations cake that was presented after we all summited, how do you bake a cake halfway up a mountain!
Worthy of a special mention is Raphael at Great Lake Expedition, He was fantastic from begining to end, emails where answered quickly, information sent out about the trip was very detailed, nothing was an issue, he is a great asset to Great Lake Expedition, thanks Raphael!
So to summarize, dont just think about it, do it, yes its not cheap, and you may find cheaper companies, however you do get what you pay for, I'm still buzzing 3 weeks on

Best trip of our life
Отличная организация - прекрасные водители-гиды, пикники, обеды в парках со скатертями, отслеживают животных

Bucket list- Check! amazing people- Check! experience of a life time- Check!!
A week ago now I have just finished 7 days lemosho trek up Kili with Great Lake expedition. I can't recommend them enough, they will get you to the top and in such a profession and encouraging way! You won't go hungry and you'll always know what the plans are as you go. Our tents were always waiting for us and the food was always ready and it was delicious! Our guides Ima and Tom, kept a watchful eye on us and were always there to encourage us. Infact the whole team did their part superbly. My summit was not possible without my guides. Great Lake Expedition looked after us from start to finish. A great company to choose should you accept the challenge to climb the highest free standing mountain on earth!!

Satisfied with the level of services, highly recommend
Great Lake Expedition Antdid a great job of organizing our climb of Mt Kilimanjaro -- from start to finish. We would never have succeeded without their constant help, professionalism and kindness. The entire team made our climb as comfortable as possible and our ultimate success is a testament to their high quality service. Would highly recommend them and hope to use them again for future adventures !

Excellent safari!!!
Great Lake Expedition made this trip unforgettable! We had a 6 day safari with the best Guide ever, and amazing lodges. We really enjoyed every minute of it, so well and good organized. Normally we book everything and so used to think about everything. Witch wasn't the case this time. They really took care of everything. A big thumb for our guide who was so patient with us, the kids asked him so many questions and he always took the time to explain. I can write and write about this experience!!! Thank you so much to the whole team.

Unforgettable kili trek
We were planning this trip for over an year. In fact I had first started contacted Great Lake Expedition in Jan 2020 and they planned everything for and allowed us to change / postpone till we finally made it in March 2021. They patiently walked us through every detail of the climb - route options, acclimatization, gear, hotel stay, flight options. I must have exchanged more than 50 emails and they responded within 24 hours every time.
Finally we made it to Tanzania on 10th March, 2021, flying from US via Doha. Once we reached Moshi everything was taken care of. We had signed up for the private climb option on the 7 day Lemosho route. I was amazed at the quality of everything they provided - transport, tents (their bright Green expedition tents sure draw some envious views!), food options and the crew that went with us was the real treasure. Everyone including our guides Emanuel and Baraka, camp master, chef etc. became friends over the trip and most importantly they care. The porters are obviously super human to do what they do.
We reached Uhuru peak on the 16th March. What an experience. The way back was quick and soon we were at Mweka gate getting on the bus back.
A big shout out to Raphael, our tour manager in Moshi. He was thorough in every briefing and would arrange for things even before we asked for anything. Overall one of the best tour experiences ever.
Amazing experience with top notch organization!!!
I went with Great Lake Expedition to climb the Kilimanjaro via the Lemosho route. For me this was one of the best experience while I was in Tanzania and recommend everyone who is into hiking to give it a try.
To start off I have to give a shout out to the Great Lake Expedition crew. They helped me a lot during the reservation and preparation process. All my question were answered quickly and special requests for pick- up and drop-off were arranged without any problems.
First day and night will be in a good hotel (note that lunch and dinner is not included here). Here your gear is checked by the crew. There are rental options if you need some extra gear. The advice they gave me was really helpful.
The guides were great and knew their stuff. You could go to them with any question, request or complaint. They also payed attention to the well-being of every hiker. On top of that they carried out a medical check twice a day.
The porters were really nice, and did our heavy loading. Without them the trekking would much more difficult.
The food was great and there was plenty of it. But be prepared for a lot of carbs.
Because of the professional organization everyone in our group made it to the top (despite the difficult hike to the summit).
My experience with Great Lake Expedition was excellent

Lemosho 8 days
Climbing Kili has always been on my bucket list. Thanks to the professional service offered by Great Lake Expedition to make our trip unforgettable and safe. We slept at Crater Camp and my husband developed altitude sickness overnight, thanks to our guide Frank assistant guide Emanuel, they monitored his progress constantly, so that we could summit and descend safely. One porter even injured himself when bringing food for resupply during bad weather. The whole team was trying to offer us the best of what they got and make our climb as comfortably as possible throughout the climb!

Spectacular in every way
We did the 7 day Machame route up Kilimanjaro with Great Lake Expedition. They did an incredible job from start to finish. Everything was very organized and they went the extra mile to make sure we had everything we needed included arranging a doctor to come take COVID tests. Our guides were Qamrish, Justice, and Limo who were great the entire trip. I’m not sure if I would have made it to the top without their help. Evance is a great chef and made us plenty of food for every meal of the day. We really get spoiled because they stopped to give us tea several times during the hike. Be sure to rent the toilet from Great Lake Expedition. Trust me…..rent the toilet. We wouldn’t hesitate to use Great Lake Expedition again.
After Kilimanjaro we did a 4 day safari with Tofa. He was knowledgeable and helpful the entire time. We had a great time and stayed at some incredible accommodations! We can’t wait to go back to Tanzania and explore some other areas of the country
