Small personal company with great knowledge and people!
Our communication was handled through Travel Leaders-Journeys, however, everything that was communicated was accurate. Tanganyika Ancient Routes exceeded our expectations!!! Our guides, Jacob, Charlie and Charles were funny, kind, efficient and did everything possible to make our safari perfect! They were quick to make changes that would enhance our experience and never once lost site of the purpose of our journey and our comfort. Don't hesitate to use them for your Tanzania safari!!!!

Our safari trip exceeded our expectations!

Our experience was way beyond our expectations especially the hands on service that Charles provides
Charles and his crew saw to it that every details was taken care of long before our arrival at the camps. The tour itself, we were told, has to include some luck for animal sightings. But at every park our guides knew exactly where to go to get to view the animals. The guides were so knowledgeable about everything from plants and trees to birds to animals. The accommodations that Charles booked were outstanding. The food that was prepared was always fresh and the chefs planned meals were always great combinations. Also the service was better than most hotels in the US provide.

Amazing Tanganyika Ancient Routes safari
Charles Mpanda, you are truly great at what you do. The Tanzania safari was spectacular. Tanganyika Ancient Routes made this an incredibly special trip. We were in all the right spots at the right time. Seeing the wildebeest migration has to be one of the most impressing things I've ever seen, in any of my travels. Indescribable African tours
This was our first trip to Africa in years and what a pleasant experience it was. The guide, the drivers and accomadations were all excellent. We saw more animals than we could ever imagined and the TWO river crossings of wildebeests was fantastic. We had a few snafu's, but all in all it was the trip of a life time.

The most amazing trip of ours lives, a true adventure!
Charles totally made the trip more than what we ever expected!! He taught us so much about Africa, it's people, the animal and the culture. Charles set up all of the different places we went to visit, enabling us to see as much as Africa as we could in 2 weeks. The wildlife was incredible! To see them in their natural environment, wondering free was wonderful. His drivers were also very knowledgable and answered all our questions. We had a lot fun getting to know Charles and his guys. Would recommend Charles to everyone who wants to experience the best of Africa.

Best trip our Family has ever been on.
Our family has visited many places in the US, as well as Mexico and Canada. We live in the beautiful pacific Northwest and normally go to Hawaii during the winter for some warm weather . That said, our family was amazed by the beautiful locations this company took us too, the incredible animals, and the wonderful people we met along the way. What made the trip even more special was our guide Charles. He immediately made us comfortable in his country the minute we landed, won over our children (Even our shy seven year old), and educated us about his country and his culture. I would absolutely recommend this Company to anyone thinking about going on Safari in Tanzania.

Fabulous trip!
I had a wonderful time on safari!!! My guide was very friendly and welcoming. He knew all about the animals, trees, and history of the area and I felt like I got a cultural tour with the safari. He was flexible and was willing to make stops at some of the stores to see the tanzanite and to get coffee at a local shop. On safari he knew the parks like the back of his hand and knew which trails to go on to see certain animals. It was a wonderful trip. The only downside was that it was harder to pay for than other safaris. There is no option to pay for it online. I had to send a copy of my credit card with a filled out form.

Amazing trip!
I've traveled all over the world and I was blown away with Tanzania. The animals, the landscape, the people, were all amazing. But what really made this trip was Charles. He helped us through the booking process (with many changes) and then took care of us every minute while in the country. I will always recommend him and his company to anyone looking to go on a Safari.
