Value tour but very good
This is one of the cheapest safari tours I found out. But the service quality is very good. If you are someone who is not interested in too many comfortable rooms and instead focuses on exploring the wild, this is a great choice.

Excellent service!
Highly recommend Sandra and her team at Grayton Expeditions! They took great care of us and it was an excellent service overall. And we saw so many elephants!

Fantastic 5-day Mt.Kenya Trek thanks to Grayton Expeditions!
Just got down from a 5 day trek to Mt.Kenya’s third highest peak - Lenana Peak. I did the Sirimon Route up to the peak and down via the Chogoria Route. Grayton Expeditions was excellent in setting this up for me at the last minute and taking care of all the arrangements, including transportation to/from Nairobi, and rental gear. The office communicated quickly and answered all my questions. My guide (Sam), porter (Kevin), and cook (Marron) were incredible and made the entire trek personalized and enjoyable. I’ve climbed many of the mountains in East Africa but this trek far exceeded my expectations! The scenery was breathtaking, the hikes were not too challenging (including the summit night) and the huts on the mountain were in good shape. I’m extremely happy with the route I chose as you get to see two very different sides of the mountain. For fit hikers I would also recommend trying the reverse (beginning on the Chogoria route and finishing on Sirimon). I did the hike at the end of March which is the beginning of the rainy season (and therefore low season). I saw almost no other hikers and it actually only rained at night, so I recommend mid to late March. Overall great experience, would recommend this operator to anyone!

The team is very welcoming and helpful.
Our tour was barely in the middle of March for 7 days. I can say one wow! With such a colossal driver and guide as we had, Collin's tour could not fail 5☆ out of 5. He took us everywhere, told us so much about animals, environment and culture. Like we got everywhere and saw so much. Always concerned about our well-being and allowed us to enjoy this beautiful Safari tale. Even the accommodations were excellent for the budget option we chose (hotel showers in Naivasha are better than expected - no tiles or broken). But the most impressive accommodation was at the very end - at the foot of Kilimanjaro. We felt at home there and with such a charming view. The food in all of them was also excellent and delicious. The only thing that I would probably not recommend is to visit the village of Masai, which we visited. It looked more like extortion of money from the residents, where the money was transferred from the beginning, so to speak, what to show you... it was unpleasant. But that was just one unsightly drop of tar in this beautiful event. Thanks to the Safari team and a special thanks to Collin.

Safari, the right hunting of our days.
Those were seven wonderful days. Nice people and fantastic nature. The accomodation was acceptable except for the last accomodation in Ambaseli Park as it was the perfect location. Our driver and guide Collins put the whole safari on a huge, irreplaceable plus. He was unobtrusive, but he always had something interesting to say. He even had books about birds with him, in which together we found what we needed. Collins seemed like a superhuman being able to endure so many hours behind the wheel and still give us time without getting bored. With this guide, the safari was like a real hunt with the necessary sensations of finding animals. Having returned to Europe, I have already managed to recommend to friends and colleagues where to look for a good safari with a very good guide. Thank you.

Top communication, reliable service, friendly and supportive stuff
I recently had a pleasure to experience a safary tour that exceeded my expectations. We spent our days exploring the savannah and our nights gazing at the stars, surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness. It was an incredibly peaceful and rejuvenating experience.
We booked 7-Day Budget Safari including national parks Masai Mara and Amboseli, lakes Naivasha and Nakuru and Hells gate. Tour booking process was smooth and supportive. Friendly stuff reacted very fast on all our request and helped to understand the overal process: pickup/return, luggage, etc.
The tour guide (our driver Collins) was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the animals and the environment we were in, which made the experience all the more special. We were able not just to see a wide variety of animals in their natural habitats, but also to get detailed information about every creature, even any unusual plant for us, we saw. Our tour guide was very supportive and proactive. We were lucky and full of emotions.
Taking into account, that we booked budget safari, accommodations positively surpised us - comfortable lodges and hotels with all the necessary amenities. The food was delicious and the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating.

Grayton Expeditions will make your safari experience unforgettable
We booked 7-Day Safari Tour to see:
Masai Mara - Naivasha - Nakuru - Hell´s Gate - Amboseli
March 2023
Booking
I chose Grayton Expeditions because their offer was the most detailed and well-planned. Sandra responded very quickly and she was accommodating. As I had many questions - she answered all of them and we were very well prepared for the trip. Also, the booking process was easy and uncomplicated.
Pick-Up / Drop-Of
I loved that we were picked up from our apartment and everything went smoothly. They also dropped us at the airport after the safari. They will do anything for your comfort.
Safari
We had the best guide/driver you could even imagine. Collins is a fantastic guide with a broad knowledge of animals and Kenya overall. Thanks to him - we learned so much and better understood this wonderful country. He is also a great driver and was making sure - we got to see as much as possible. I really recommend him to everyone who goes on safari.
Our Safari days were perfect, we had the chance to see a lot. And every park is completely different. In the beginning, we thought, that maybe 7 days is too much because everything will seem the same. BUT - every park is completely different - it is worth it.
Accommodation
Although we choose the budget version - we had everything you need. Washrooms in every tent/hotel. Meal 3 times a day, bar with drinks and electricity. The beds were very comfortable and the meals were perfect.
Optional excursions
We booked a Maasai Village tour, a Boat ride in Naivasha Lake to Crescent Island & Walk with a guide in Hell´s Gate.
It was worth it!
Extra Tipps
- What I would suggest to other visitors - choose a backpack over big luggage. The car might get full and there won´t be enough space to store your luggage. We had 4 big suitcases and in the high-season that would be too much.
- Take enough cash with you. All additional excursions, drinks at the bar, and tips to the stuff you have to pay in cash.
- It is welcome to tip your driver at the end of the day. You choose the amount, but the standard is about 10$ a day.
- We went in the end-of-season right before the rainy season. You don´t have that many tourists and you are able to see how nature changed within 1 day after the rain. It was soo magical. I highly recommend it.
In the end, we were more than happy about this unforgettable experience. It was our first safari and Grayton Expeditions with Collins made it perfect.

6 Day Group Joining Tour
We have booked the 6 day safari to Masai Mara Nakuru and Amboseli.
Before the start of the trip all questions were answered quickly and competently by the tour operator and the whole process went perfectly smooth.
After arrival we were picked up from the airport and we started directly our journey.
We felt well taken care of at all times and our very friendly driver Stanley took great efforts to show us the great wildlife of Kenya.
Thanks to his great experience, it was possible for us to have seen all the big five on the third day and you could tell he enjoyed his job.
All overnight stays and food stops were very well planned and completely stress-free for us.
We would go on safari with Grayton again anytime.
Greetings from Germany

Friendly and supporting tour operator
The communication was easy and friendly via email as well as the payment via master card. The value we got for what we payed was very good. Grayton Expeditions helped us with some visa problems. We joined a shared safari group. The camp was nice with a good view to Kilimanjaro and delicious food. Unfortunately only cold water in the shower. The morning started with a walk and was followed by a full day game drive. Lunch was okay, dinner back in camp much better. The second day the game drive in the morning was replaced by rushing through the park to drop some guests at the border. All in all our guide did not talk a lot but answered questions nicely. Definitely recommendable because of its very good price.

All good
- The guides we had, Felix and Eric, were nice and helpful.
- The safari itself was really nice. We saw all the animals we wanted to see, and all the trips we did inside Masai Mara and lake Nakuru were really worth it. That's the main thing.
- The accommodations are basic, especially in Masai Mara. But I chose is a cheapish tour, so I was expecting it. If you want more comfort you need to pay more, I guess.
- The food is also basic: Rice, beef, chicken, spinach... Those sort of things. Again, if you want something more fancy you'll probably need to pay more.
