Okay for low budget journey
The trip was really good. We had a very good driver and great fellow travellers. What really bothered us was the organisation in the background. Every fellow traveller had booked a different trip with different hotels, different activities and different lengths of the trip. For this reason, the plan had to be changed constantly. A game drive in the morning was cancelled once and the other times we were late at the reserve because we had to collect all the people for 1 1/2 hours or we had to wait for an hour until the entrance fee for the park was paid. On the last day we were out of the park after an hour because a new traveler had a village visit in his activities.

there were three days of safari in the program, we got one :(
Unfortunately, there is a lack of safari. Out of the promised three days - this was the program - we had one. The first day, instead of the morning, we left Nairobi in the afternoon and arrived at camp in the dark in the late evening, the group we were joined with was late. The second was a great safari in Amboseli Park, very fun. The third is a crazy rush to the Tanzanian border from 6⁰⁰ Am, with virtually no stops and a return to the capital, I felt treated like a shipment, We were arranging something else. I hope not all groups have this discomfort. Still, I recommend it. Patrick driver, a very nice guy.

Overall it was a good experience but dealing with mechanical car failures is not ideal on vacation.
The overall experience was good but we had concerns with the lack of social distancing & mask wearing & sanitising throughout the trip. Considering the global crisis we are facing I would expect tour operators to do the most they can to ensure the safety of their guests. Our guide, for example, would stop to pick up random strangers next to the road & these individuals did not wear masks or anything of this sort but would drive with us for long durations. This was quite concerning.
In terms of the guiding & the park - this was great. The guide was knowledgeable and made extra effort to ensure we were able to view the animals as best we could.
It was very disappointing when the vehicle broke down on our last day. This meant we were unable to go into the park on the morning safari as scheduled. There was no alternative, no other arrangements to ensure we could still enjoy our morning drive. When the vehicle was finally fixed the guide suggested we immediately return to Nairobi while the vehicle was working as he didn't know whether it would break down again. So our whole experience was overshadowed by this. It is a once in a lifetime experience to visit the Masai Mara & to be told that we are unable to experience our last game drive was simply unacceptable.

Amboseli group tour not recommended
I booked a 3-day group joining tour to Amboseli in January 2023 with Grayton Expeditions and it was below expectations.
I was disappointed because :
1) although you pay for a 3 Days tour (340$) you end up with only 1 entrance to the Park (24h). The game drive for the last day ends at 8.45am as the 24h entrance expires;
2) Grayton Expeditions do not operate the tour themselves but subcontract to another company which leads to differences with the program you paid for. In my case, the tour ended up at 12:00 (not 15:00 as indicated in the program) and I was not dropped off to my hotel, but rather put in a Uber from the city center (not very safe).
I could share this feedback with Grayton which apologized for the inconvenience and was very reactive. However I cannot recommend this group tour to Amboseli with Grayton (better book a 2 days with another agency), but I think they are reliable if they operate the tour themselves as my communication was smooth with them.
