Best 1-day safari experience with Telly Africa Safaris team
5/5

From start to finish Telly Africa Safaris delivered a fantastic safari experience. Our family incl. our 8- and a 4-year-old kids will remember and treasure this trip forever. Thank you! Mohamed (Arusha) communicated fantastically well throughout, making sure we knew what to expect. Mohamed (Zanzibar) safely delivered us to the airport and then back to our hotel on the day of the safari. Plus he helped us organise Zanzibar football shirts at short notice. Our flight from Zanzibar to Tanzania was quick and uneventful (this is how we like it!) and once at the safari park, Antony our driver made sure we got to see as many animals in their natural habitat as possible. We were so lucky as we got to see most of the animals in the park: from warthogs to impalas, baboons, giraffes, wildebeests, lions, elephants, hippos and crocodiles. It’s truly special to see them in the wild. Lunch (chips, chicken, samosa, egg) was served close to trees over 2k years old. After lunch Antony took us around the park a bit more, before we had to head to the airstrip and return to Zanzibar. Again, the flight was smooth and Mohamed (Zanzibar) was waiting for us at the airport, ready to drop us off at our hotel. A massive THANK YOU to the whole team for allowing us to make memories that will last a lifetime.

A fantastic day
5/5

We did a tour to Materuni waterfalls and the hot springs of Kikuletwa. They easily adapted the tour to our needs. Our guide Joel was very friendly. Even though it was raining and the ground was slippery, Joel helped us at all times. The bath in the hot springs was very relaxing and fun. I highly recommend Telly Africa Safari.

Knowledgeable and Fun
5/5

We had such a great experience with Telly! We traveled with our 2 teens and did the day hike to Mandara Hut and Maundi Crater. Emmanuel our guide was so well educated and passionate about the mountain. He was able to teach us about the animals and the way of life of the people who live there. Our driver was awesome as well! He kept us laughing the entire way. 100% would recommend for cost, communication, and reliability alone, but it was the warm people that really took the show.

Best day hike to Kilimanjaro
5/5

Emmanuel with Telly African Safaris was our guide and he planned the perfect day for us. I was a bit hesitant to climb in that elevation coming off a two week safari. Emmanuel knew just what to do telling us to hike “ pole, pole” slowly, slowly and he would stop us to take frequent breaks and sips of water. After an hour, everyone had acclimated to the elevation and could enjoy hiking in the beautiful rain forest. You pass streams and waterfalls, and find monkeys and birds along the way. The path is well groomed and there is even men’s/women's toilets with running water and toilet paper about every 1.5 hours on the trail!!!
The terrain changes as you leave the rain forest canopy and climb to the crater. Emmanuel has made over 400 trips to the summit and we were able to get good advice about making the full climb when we return in a year. Emmanuel carried our one backpack and the most wonderful box lunches for us. Our only responsibility was to enjoy the beautiful day. He even brought aluminum hiking poles for each of us. This was the perfect opportunity for us to get acquainted with Kilimanjaro mountain. Can’t say enough good things about our guide and this Telly African Safaris experience!

The best 6 days of our lives
5/5

There’s no word of exaggeration when I say that Telly Safaris provided us with one of the best 6 days of our lives. We had a rough start with losing our luggage on the way and the team constantly tried to help us get it back and organise a way to get it out to us on our safari. We were also delayed quite heavily with our transfer from Zanzibar to the Serengeti but they still gave us a 4 hour safari on the day we arrived and we literally saw EVERYTHING on the first day all up close and personal. The rest of the safari itself was nothing short of spectacular, our driver Godson was unbelievable and had such incredible knowledge of the parks and went above and beyond to see the animals from all angles and sometimes raced through the parks to make sure we saw animals when knowledge came through on the intercom he used. He drove for hours and kept an incredibly keen eye for animals at the same time which made it so key in seeing literally all the animals you possible could in Africa. We saw full pods of hippos, lions catching and eating prey, baby lions with their mother and cheetahs hunting. Check out our Instagram highlights @dannyjhirst @kateehopkinson

Aside from the safari we stayed in 4 hotels on our way round Tanzania and they were all incredible, genuine 4/5 star calibre with beautiful food, settings and staff who constantly made you feel welcome. You were provided with brilliant lunches on the tour and kept you going the full day. One piece of advice is to take a few jumpers, the mornings and nights can be bitterly cold till the sun comes out.

I honestly don’t think we could have got better product for our money with any other company in the world, we will be forever thankful for the experience they gave us.

Very knowledgeable and charismatic
5/5

We knew one day was not gonna be enough to have the full safari experience but we wanted to get a taste of it and we sure did!
We departed from Zanzibar at 6 am and as soon as we landed at Nyerere we started our game drive! Our guide was super knowledgeable answering and explaining everything to us!
We were able to see 3/5 of the big 5 and that left me completely satisfied!
After a few hours we then had lunch at an amazing spot, and were able to enjoy the views of the incredible baoba tree!
I highly recommend this tour for anyone who like me only has one day for a safari!

A great experience - 1 day safari at Selous Game Reserve (Nyerere National Park)
5/5

- GREAT ORGANISATION : from Pick-up at the hotel, flight to the Selous Airstrip, meeting the guide, safari, lunch break, more safari, drop off at the Selous Airstrip, flight back and drop off at your hotel. You do not have to worry about anything, Telly organises everything for you. TRUST THE PROCESS and you will have a great experience !

- AMAZING EXPERIENCE: each provider was a professional, from our very nice taxi driver (he had to pick us up at 3:45 in the morning and he did it with a big smile), to Mohamed from Telly and his quick reactions to our questions, and without forgetting Michael our safari guide, who was very knowledgable. Do not hesitate to opt for the shared experience: it is cheaper and the groups are max 6 people… also: ou group was organised by language so we had the advantage to have a French speaking guide !

- ONCE IN A LIFETIME SIGHTS: it was our first safari. We saw: impalas (many), warthogs (many), buffalos, giraffes (many), monkeys (many), one black mamba, elephants (three but from far because they did not want to be disturbed and the guides respect that), hippos (many in the water), crocodiles (2), kobus (but be quick because those move fast), wildebeests (in herds), kudus (2), blue birds (look out for this because they are BEAUTIFUL) and one calao (zazou in the lion king!). Our guide really tried to find lions and the other big 5 but they have a very wide territory and you need a little bit of luck to find them. Honestly, even if you do not find them, the other animals will amaze you any way!

To conclude: we highly recommend Telly for the organisation of your safari, it will be hassle free and you will not be disappointed !

A once in a lifetime experience with Telly Safari
5/5

Our family's safari adventure in Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater with Telly Safari was a journey we will treasure forever. From witnessing all the majestic animals, including the Big 5, in their natural habitat to experiencing the raw beauty of the vast herds of wildebeest traversing the landscape, every moment was a testament to the wild heart of Serengeti. The emotional intensity of watching lions hunt and killing a Zebra, the dramatic attempt of a cheetah trying to capture a young gnu, and dining just meters away from resting lions were experiences that brought the circle of life up close and personal.

Our guide, Assad, transformed our safari into an educational journey brimming with excitement and wonder. His deep knowledge of wildlife and skilled tracking abilities ensured we didn't miss out on any wish-list sightings. Watching baboons saunter by our tent at sunset and feeling the vibrant energy of the Ngorongoro Crater, feeling as "the lost world," were highlights that illustrated the serene yet wild essence of Africa.

Assad's insights into animal behaviors enriched our understanding and connection to the natural world, turning each encounter into a vivid story. His dedication to making our adventure memorable and comfortable made him feel more like a family member than a guide. Our daughter fondly recalls her "close friend," and we share that sentiment deeply.

Special thanks also go to Mohamed, who was instrumental in tailoring our trip. His patience and detailed responses to our numerous inquiries ensured our journey was perfectly aligned with our expectations.

I can't recommend Telly Safari enough for families looking for a safari experience that combines adventure, education, and personal touches that go beyond the ordinary. This trip wasn’t just a holiday; it was a profound journey into the heart of nature, facilitated by a team who truly cares about delivering a unique and unforgettable experience.
