Reliable, Responsive, Empathetic, Helpful and Experienced
For our trip to Maasai Mara in August 2024 conversations with the Morindat Tours and Travels team began well in advance. Several itinerary options were offered and we finally agreed on a 8 day package specially curated for us by Morindat. During this stage Titus and Gideon were empathetic to our requests for changes to the itinerary and prompt with their responses and suggestions.
Day 1 at Nairobi included an interesting visit to a Coffee Estate ,lunch at a vegetarian Indian restaurant, and the National Museum.
On day 2 our group of 12 left for Amboseli in two Land Cruisers. One group with Gideon and the other with Sammy.
Seven adrenalin driven, exciting, adventurous and memorable days followed where we had the unique opportunity of experiencing the raw beauty of the African wilderness up close.
Our itinerary included Amboseli National Park ; Lake Nakuru National Park via the scenic Great Rift Valley and Lake Naivasha (including Crescent Island ,where the epic 1985 American movie “Out of Africa” was filmed) and finally three unforgettable days at Maasai Mara, which included a visit to a Maasai village where we saw the pastoralist Maasai making fire in the traditional way by rubbing sticks.
At the game reserves we witnessed ,up real close , a “crossing” of a huge herd of elephants as also a pride of nineteen lionesses and cubs.
Clearly, Gideon and Sammy knew the vast openness of the Mara landscape like the back of their hands sans any landmark(s) GPS or even a compass. They were the ideal safari guides. Knowledgeable of the terrain and animal behaviours , passionate about their work, uncanny spotters, intuitive, professional, polite and importantly good conversationist.
We shall all remember and retell the many anecdotes that Gideon kept us enthralled with.
Our primary focus were the sightings of the Big Five (Lion, Leopard , Rhinoceros ,Elephant and the Cape Buffalo), a Wildebeest migration and a possible predator hunt.
Thanks to the hawk-eyed ‘spotting ability ’of Gideon and Sammy, honed by nearly 40 years of collective game reserve experience between them, we were extremely lucky to spot all of the Big Five, including the ever elusive leopard and rhino.
One of the highpoints of our safari was witnessing the 5 stages of predation (detection, identification, approach, subjugation and consumption) of a cheetah hunting down an impala.
Soon after the cheetah was spotted Gideon announced that she (the cheetah) was hungry and would soon go on a hunt. None of us could fathom how Gideon had arrived at that conclusion. Intuition ? Experience ?
About a half hour wait later the cheetah zeroed in on a herd of fleet footed impalas one of which became her meal of the day. We followed the cheetah, at a respectable distance, at breakneck speed, across the savannah, as she blurred into a high speed chase eventually getting a hapless young impala.
Witnessing a Wildebeest migration as thousands of Wildebeest made their run across the crocodile infested Mara river, past lions ,leopards and hyenas crouching in the low grass waiting to make a kill, was the second big highpoint of the safari. A sighting made possible thanks to the sharp instinct and spotting ability of Sammy.
Food was not an issue at all, even for the three vegetarians in the group. Food palatable to the Indian taste was available at everyplace we stayed and for the 3 days at Maasai Mara we were served a sumptuous Indian menu for breakfast and dinner. Kenya, said Sammy, is home to Four hundred thousand plus people of Indian origin.
All good things must come to an end ,it is said ; as did our absolutely amazing holiday, a great safari and some incredibly lucky sightings ; A David Attenborough moment in our lives, for which we thank Morindat Tours & Travels.
We shall all cherish and recall the wonderful memories for years to come.
We learnt so much of Africa, its history, people and the great many animals and bird species we saw in the wilderness. Thank you Titus, Sammy and Gideon for being part of this wonderful memory.
If you are reading this review and are planning a trip to Kenya, we would unconditionally recommend Morindat Tours & Travels.

Exceptional operator, amazing safari, and very good value for money!
We cannot thank Morindat enough for the wonderful service they provided. Titus helped me every step of the way to plan out our safari in Kenya, he offered us multiple options for different itineraries and provided us with different price options all within our budget.
Everything was perfectly organized and coordinated, from the selection of the itinerary, the airport pickup, the accommodations, the parks selection…everything was just perfect!
Thank you, Titus (the owner) for the experience of a lifetime, and huge thanks to Gideon (the only guide that can spot all big 5 on the first day

Reliable & helpful, with superb customer service -- you truly are in good hands.
This is the best travel/tour agency we have ever used. Titus contacted us via WhatsApp shortly after we inquired about booking a safari in order to ascertain what kind of experience we wanted, and soon thereafter provided us with several options. After we chose our itinerary, he booked two different safari camps for us and arranged all our domestic transportation from Nairobi to the camps, as well as to the coast where we spent a few beach days at the end. Everything he arranged was great.
What really sets this agency apart, though, is Titus' outstanding communication and willingness to help with anything you need. We peppered him with a number of questions while we were preparing for our trip, and he always responded promptly with precise and helpful information. And he really went above and beyond to help us while we were in Kenya. As it turned out, our son unfortunately experienced a medical emergency and needed to visit the hospital shortly before we departed. Titus came to the hospital himself -- in the middle of the night -- to make sure we were receiving proper treatment, and arranged a hotel room for us at the last minute so we had a place to stay after we missed our flight. He drove us from the hospital to the hotel himself, and kept checking in to make sure we were fine until we reached home. He did all of this even though our tour with Morindat had technically ended and he had no further obligation towards us. We had simply called him in a panic in the middle of the night, waking him up, and he immediately helped. He is a good man. Needless to say, we are very thankful and we cannot recommend Morindat highly enough. Thank you, Titus!

Unforgettable and in good hands at all times
We went on a five day safari with Gideon from Morindat Tours. First two nights in Amboseli National Park, then two nights in Tsavo West National Park. It was a wonderful experience from planning to saying goodbye in Nairobi.
We felt that we were in good hands at all times, be it when it came to planning, picking us up at the hotel in Nairobi, during the safari... Either Titus or Gideon were always there to help and advise.
Gideon is a wonderful guide who is very respectful and reliable. He also explains everything wonderfully and sees the animals without binoculars! Our highlight: The Kingfisher, who pointed us to the baboon and finally to the leopard in the tree :-) . Thanks eagle-eyed Guideon! It was an unforgettable experience.
We thank Morindat-Tours and especially Gideon, who made our safari a highlight of our lives.
We unreservedly recommend this company. Reliable, punctual, respectful, informative, trustworthy - what more do you need...?

Kind, knowledgeable and professional safari guides, best experience ever
Absolutely outstanding customer experience with Morindat Tours & Travel Ltd. The experience is not only excellent during the actual trip but starts much earlier from the initial contact (which is via WhatsApp, with the guide/manager himself, who is very responsive and resourceful).
To give some context, we made a 7-day safari in Kenya with Morindat Tours. The moment we arrived in Kenya, we were welcomed by Titus (manager) and our guide (Francis) who explained what was ahead and gifted us two safari hats (as promised). They were extremely kind, helpful and knowledgeable.
During the safari per-se, we spent most of the time with our guide Francis. He was very knowledgeable, answered all our questions and shared his passion for the flora, fauna and landscape we encountered. He also shared some very interesting insights into the local culture. Francis accommodated any requests we had (e.g., extra time for photos, stopping for atms along the way, etc.) and always made us feel comfortable, giving us space and attention when needed. Also important, is that the Morindat safari guides have considerable experience doing safaris, which becomes evident in their experience looking for and spotting animals, and in choosing the right times and grounds for game driving (I have heard that this is not always the case with other companies).
In terms of equipment, the open roof safari jeeps are in excellent conditions and we had no issues. Compared to other vehicles we saw during our safari, ours were perfectly equipped to face the rough terrains of Kenya. Francis proved to be an experienced and safe driver as well. On our way back we also met another guide Gideon (who was present during the organization phase of the trip) and we also welcomed us and treated us in a great way.
The lodges arranged by Morindat are also incredibly good and in total agreement to what was promised.
To sum up, I would not hesitate to organize a safari experience with the Morindat Tours team. We are forever grateful for their role in this unforgettable experience.

Highly recommended!!
Morindat tours provided an excellent service, Titus took care of all our pre travel arrangements. His response time was great. He got back to us pretty quick with all the changes we requested. He went out of his way to help us with our online payment for Kenyan e-visa. Even during our trip, he did check with us intermittently if everything is going well.
And Gideon was our tour guide/driver, who is also one of the partners. He is very punctual, knowledgable and courteous. And the best part is his sense of humor. He is sharp at finding wildlife from far. Our trip turned out very educational as well, we learnt many interesting facts about wildlife and also maasai culture. He arranged local food per our request, which we thoroughly enjoyed.
Overall, we had an amazing experience. Thanks to Morindat tours for making our Kenya vacation stress free and memorable.

Life time experience @ safaris
Have u ever travelled for a vacation with a broken leg?
Yes I did….. but had a life time experience.
I Have no words to thank team Morindat, Titus, Gideon, Sammy & Francis.
As a group of 15 friends, we planned a trip to Mara in 2020. But what happened from 2020 we all know, I don’t want to remind myself about it.
Our trip postponed to next year and then to next year again. Finally 2022, we were all set to travel. Just 3 weeks to go and that was when a twist in the ankle …. Sorry tale happened. Yes I twisted my ankle which resulted in a severe fracture, ouch.!!
Family, friends, colleagues and even my doctor said “no way Mara”! Disappointed ☹️ sad and frustrated about my fate. I told my hubby Srini to cancel my tickets and certainly not having any hopes. How ever God decides different!
Week 2 - There was an important meeting at work and I took a chance to go for the meet and stayed back for 10 hours, with my leg @ 90 degrees on a chair. That was a turning point in my approach. Came back home late evening and told my family & friends “am going to Mara” certainly, but in a wheel chair.
Let me tell you there was some magic @ Mara, that did a miracle to me. Our trip mentors Vimla & Dorai and our leader Anand were bent upon on carrying me on their shoulder to Mara.. not giving up on me. Thank you the 3 of you, I owe you for this.
Our mentor & leader started coordinating with Morindat team @ Mara to ensure that the whole travel is with wheel chair assist. Yes finally I did it completely, did not miss a single safari or a place of visit, competed with all my fellow travellers in all enjoyments.
Thanks to “Team Morindat” for the wonderful life time experience that I had.
Let me talk first about Morindat before I share my mara experience.
Titus - perfect example of how an owner should drive the biz with a personal touch with the travellers. Thanks to flawless planning and pleasant experience that each one of us had.
Gideon - Hey Gidi ! Smart & sharp in spotting animals and always surprises us in every safari. Despite an Owner, he drove us all thru the trip comfortably. He was our Google map of Mara… even in the wildest jungle he was too good in his route. Should we baptise him as “Gidioogle”! Very Knowledgeable and we were lucky to have him lead us end to end.
Sammy - My Mara bro ! Cool, retired army guy, who took care of me in the entire trip. Not a time he hesitated to take out and put the wheel chair back in the van. But for Sammy, my life in Mara would not have been so smooth. He was too good in spotting birds, knew all the Mara birds by their call, amazing birding guy.
My fellow traveller and my life partner, who is a troublesome kid when it comes to photography. Always keeps shouting stopppp… stop..stop. Sammy will stop the van bang on .. it took a day for him to understand what a stop..stop…stop means. Started saying “Hakuna mattata!” Means no problem… in turn we taught him a more or less equivalent funny word for him “pona pogattum”. Every safari we enjoyed with Sammy. Icing on the cake, when he woke up the sleeping jungle king just 50 mtrs away with his recorded lioness call. Thank you my bro, Sammy for all the experience.
Francis - I spoke just once or twice to him but cannot forget his face for my life time. Was challenging to take a photo of me while I try to touch the lions mane. Sorry didn’t have that chance though .

Best experience ever…
Morindat Tours’ hospitality started right at the Airport when we landed in Nairobi airport. They were so helpful that we managed to pick up local SIM cards while we waited for our group to finish their CIQ.
We then proceeded to a city hotel which was changed up at the last minute & it was not regretful at all. Usually last minute changes aren’t welcomed by any traveller, but this was a brilliant change with a beautiful one at bar at the rooftop.
The second day started with our travel to the Masai Mara Reserve. The 3 drivers headed by Gideon (co-owner) of Morindat made our journey smooth & comforting. The 5-6 hours journey was made easy (I suffer from motion sickness) & I was alright.
The game drives were excellent & the drivers Sammy & Francis were fabulous. Francis was our LC’s driver & he was an encyclopaedia of animals & plants. He would dish out Botanical & Zoological names of Plants, Trees & animals we saw. I must admit I can’t remember even one.
Early morning sunrise & late evening sunsets in the grasslands is a sight to cherish for the rest of one’s lives. Francis even accorded our LC’s passengers as one of the best passengers he’s taken. We would like to think that we were good spotters too. We managed to out spot, our fellow travellers with lions and cheetahs.
After 4 nights in the Mara Reserve we headed to Lake Naivasha. One night there & back to Nairobi Airport. Our week long trip was over before we even realised.
I don’t think anyone else is equipped to handle the difficult needs of all travellers.
3 cheers to the Morindat Team…
Asante Sana

One of the best Your Operators!
Our experience with Morindat has been exemplary from start to finish.
Morindat has been set up recently by two experienced guides, Gideon & Titus. We first connected with them early 2020 planning a trip in July of that year. But we had to postpone our trip to 2022 due to the pandemic (first we booked for 2020 and then we had to push to 2021 and, finally 2022!).
So we had been conversing with both of them for well over two years. They navigated our postponements and reservation changes smoothly with patience! Very professional, quick to respond to any mode of communication, whether email or whatsapp or calls!
And finally, our trip happened in Aug 2022! We were a group of 15 from Chennai, India and we took three jeeps on a seven day vacation. One of us was on a wheelchair with a fracture on her leg that happened just 3.5 weeks prior to our trip.
It was a wonderful, exciting and once-in-a-lifetime trip. Our three guides were Gideon himself along with Francis & Sammy. They were excellent! Warm, friendly, flexible, attentive and oh, so good at leading us to the right spotting of wild animals! We couldn't see the famed crossing or crocs, but we saw almost everything else including the very rare sights of mating lions and a cheetah trying to climb a tree! Brilliant! I was in Francis'Jeep and I can tell you he is one of the best! If I go again, I will go with him! He has a little resemblance to the Dembe character in the James Spader TV series, Blacklist!
