An elephantastic safari!!
In januar we met Selma on the vacation market in Utrecht. She informered us very well about the possibilities on a safari. During some emailcontact we got some extra advice for a safari compare our ideas and budget. The safari was, in every aspect, above our expectations. First our excellent guide Humphrey. He was not only funny but know a lot about nature and wild live. Thanks to his exceptionele eyes, we spotted the Big Five(with spouse), the Ugly Five and lots and lots of other animals very close to our car.. Every day he brought some new excitement, took good care of us with nice lunchboxes and good coffee. And after a long safari day we were every time surprises by the hospitality and service of each lodge. The tentedlodges were all very good. We didn't expected so much luxury and very tastefull food.
This safari we will always remember as one of our topvacations. When we go once more to Tanzania we sure go for Humphrey and Makasa!

Amazing 8 Day Safari Trip to Tanzania
I just returned from my 8 day Safari trip to Tanzania organized by Makasa and I have nothing but the best to say about them and the trip.
Prior to the trip, all communication was prompt and clear. Selma with Makasa did a great job of tailoring the trip to my desired length and points, providing helpful suggestions and pointers, and answering any questions I had (including many proactively before I even asked).
The trip itself was incredible. We had some minor flight delays, and despite a lack of communication on my part, Makasa was able to handle my situation with ease.
Our driver, Jamal, picked us up from the airport and immediately made us feel at home and informed. He knew about the animals, the culture, and the landscape. He knew how to safely handle the vehicle. He was able to fine tune or itinerary to specifics of what we wanted to see (animals we hadn't seen on previous days, etc.) and duration during the days and so on. Incredibly flexible and knowledgeable and just all around great.
Accommodations were beyond my wildest expectation. We were placed in all TWC properties which were amazing and put as at ease. This trip was supposed to be a vacation, but I had expected it to be a little rugged; our accommodations made us feel as relaxed as if we were staying at a beach in the Caribbean.
I will note that I have never been on a safari or to Tanzania previously, so I lack the ability to compare to other offerings. That said, the homework I did before choosing Makasa seemed to indicate they were competitive on price and at the top of the charts in terms of service, and given how my trip went, I still hold these feelings.

Fantastic Tanzanian Safari to Lake Manyara, Tarangire, Serengetti & Ngorongoro Crater
I decided on Makasa after reading lots of Trip Advisor reviews and had very high expectations for our first ever safari. Without a doubt, in all areas, it exceeded them greatly. It was rated as a perfect 10 /10 holiday from each family member (group of four adults).
From the point of being collected at Kilimanjaro airport to be taken to our first stop-over and onwards, everything was extremely well organised and the whole holiday ran exceptionally smoothly.
Although I like to do a great deal of research on my own, Selma was invaluable to be in contact with during the planning process, being very knowledgeable on all the accommodation and itinerary options and having lots of patience with my never ending array of questions. I don’t like any surprises, worry lots about things going wrong on holidays and so it is of high importance that I know where I am going and what we are doing in detail.
Before arriving, I was particularly concerned about safety aspects on this type of holiday but quite unnecessary as we were looked after fantastically well everywhere we went.
Our vehicle was comfortable, reliable and kept remarkably clean by our excellent driver Kaleby. Driving safely for long periods, sometimes in quite adverse conditions, he always had a smile on his face and happy to answer our many questions. We were very appreciative to have such a brilliant guide and thoroughly enjoyed all our safari days with him. He is most definitely a real credit to the Makasa team.
I will review our accommodation separately but suffice to say, the suggestions of Maramboi, Kubu Kubu & Mbalageti lodges were wonderful and we loved the Serena Manyara too.
Thank you Makasa for the most amazing holiday experience amongst the friendliest of people in your beautiful country and we now have fabulous pictures and video footage for everlasting memories.

Well organized, extremely helpfull with a tour guide who was second to none!
My wife, daughter and myself did a 5 day safari in June/2016. We saw 3 parks and, although we missed the migration, we saw tons of animals. Makasa organized the whole thing down to the last detail. Selma was extremely helpfull during the planning and organization stages. Our guide, Humphrey, was the absolute best. He was knowledgable, friendly and entertaining. Had us in stitches most of the time. He went out of his way to make sure we saw as much as possible and was more than happy to adjust the schedule if we wanted.
If we do another safari I would book with Makasa in a minute and request Humphrey again if possible.

Excellent Safari tour with Makasa
It was our first safari and was simply unforgettable.
We planned the trip 2 months ahead, which was quite rush I would say. Yet Selma answered the emails promptly and in great patience. We soon arrived on a plan that suited our needs. In the end, the lodge, the service as well as the food were all excellent. We visited Tarangire NP, Lake Manyara NP, Serengeti NP and Ngorongoro CA. We also joined a coffee tour where we learned about local farmers' life. We had a short visit to Masaai home in Ngorongoro CA.
And special thanks to our guide, King, who had eagle eyes. He leaded us to see hidden animals and to anticipate breathtaking predator hunts. He was also a careful driver and a caring brother of us.

Most gratifying experience; a perfect balance between comfort and closeness to nature.
We saw everything imaginable (save for penguins but this is understandable!). Our guide David Meta was cheerful, punctual, competent and proactive. The accommodations where perfect! I have to say that I was somewhat hesitant to accept the limited comfort of the tented camps but I wanted to give it a try. It worked out beautifully, we had elephants visiting the camps, at night lions where roaring around the tent. The interactions with the staff was always warm and unforgettable. Too many things to describe. Only, suggestion! Keep the beer and wine cold! Some times it could have been a little colder!!! Nothing like a good beer after a whole day safari, in front of the bone fire with a busy mangoes colony around!

Well organized and unforgettable safari with Makasa
As we had been to Tanzania in 2013 with 2 couples and experienced the relaxation of safari with Makasa, we definitely wanted to come back with our children.
Together with Selma we planned an unforgettable safari to Tarangire NP, Ndutu NCA, Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater!
On both occasions David was our guide. He has taught us so much about the wildlife and took all time to spot many beautiful animals. And as well, he proved to be a very experienced driver! Thank you David, forever friends…
Also all lodges were luxurious and the staff was very helpful.
Special thanks to the staff of the Ndutu tented Camp!
A once in a lifetime experience for the kids and for us the second amazing one…
Thanks again for the marvellous organization and hopefully we will be back !
