WOW!! Makasa is amazing.
Makasa is a top-notch company that offered a spectacular Safari with a personal touch. We have 2 kids ages 8 and 10 and they matched a guide that also had kids and Kalebi could not have been better! He answered their endless questions, taught them Tanzanian songs and was just a joy to be around. He also knew everything about everything from people, animals and culture. Highly recommend this company. Selma (owner) is quick to cater a tour to your specific needs and managed a lost bag for us so we could just enjoy the safari. She came to our hotel to meet us and got the paperwork and had the bag sent to our first camp. The places we stayed were incredible and the food was amazing and safe to eat. A lifetime memory complete.

Well organised, well trained driver/guide and perfect chosen program according to our wishes.
Quick response to our email, thinking with us and looking for the possibilities so in the end we had the perfect safari with very nice accommodations. Excellent guide. Price/quality relation is very good

Amazing Safari
This past January we took the 9 day safari offered by Makasa - Lake Manyara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater. We found Selma to be very helpful when planning this trip. The length of this safari was just right for our group, as well the accomodations were wonderful, our favourites being the tented camps at Rhotia and Kati Kati. Our guide Kaleby was excellent. He has a great sense of humour, amazing knowledge and made a real effort to keep us comfortable and safe. We would definitely recommend Makasa for an awesome safari experience.

An Extraordinary experience
We just completed our 10-day safari tour with Makasa. Everything went well and we enjoyed our vacation very much. It's an experience we will never forget. Makasa did an excellent job organizing the tour considering this is our first time to Tanzania. I would admit that the tented camps scared my wife at the beginning but as we stayed longer , we realized it's the most practical place to stay because we were right there where actions are. The lodges were wonderful and the service is very good in all our accommodations. Jamal, our guide made our stay worthwhile because he's very knowledgeable and he has eyes like an eagle who could see or sense animals from a distance. We were lucky to see the big 5 and some other very interesting animals. Special thanks to Caroline who went out of her way to find us a physician who could prescribe us the medicines we lost during our travel. Overall, we could highly recommend Makasa not to mention that they are able to keep the cost down without sacrificing the quality of service.

Travelling with Makasa was fantastic!
Wildlife, nature and people in Tanzania speak for themselves. We really loved the tented camps, the beautiful tents, our fantastic guide Kalibi, the way our son has been taught so many amazing things during the gamedrives and the glass of wine at the fireplace.

We had heard so many great things about Makasa, even then our safari experience was Beyond expectati
We really felt that we were in "uncharted territory" while researching and organizing our trip, not knowing anyone that had done anything similar. Makasa advised us every step of the way and their recommendations were "spot on". The tented safari was definitely the right choice for us. The camps were the perfect combination---we felt safe and comfortable (food was excellent !!) at all times and yet "in the wild" added to the experience. Our guide Kaleby was THE BEST !! He was Professional, Knowledgeable and so much fun !!!

Fabulous Experience
We have just returned from a 10 day safari, 5 day beach experience in Tanzania. It was organised through Selma at Makasa Safaris. Everything was perfect! Selma organised our flights to and from Dar, as well as the safari and beach vacation in Zanzibar. Communication with Selma was easy and efficient. Our Makasa guide Ally was amazing! He was very thoughtful and always asked us what we wanted to do, and he planned our days around this. He was so interested in the wildlife, was full of information and we just enjoyed our time learning from him. During our 10 days on safari we visited Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara National Park, The Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Ndutu and Serengeti National Park. Each area offered something a little but different. We saw the Big 5, as well as a huge selection of other animals and birds. The highlight was spending 2 hours following a cheetah stalk, hunt and kill a Gazelle - nature at its best! The accommodation that Selma had organised was also excellent - the tented camps were a great experience. After the safari we flew from Serengeti to Zanzibar for some relaxation. Selma had booked us in to the Z Hotel on Nungwi Beach- this was wonderful! A beautiful beach and a lovely resort - a fantastic way to celebrate our 25th Wedding anniversary! Thank you Selma for the amazing job you did organising this trip for us.

Great day at Arusha National Park
Going for the Kili Challenge of WAR Child somebody mentioned to do a safari before climbing the Kilimanjaro. The contact for Makasa Tanzanian Safaris was given to me. I got a quick response on the possibility of doing a safari.
We had a great day with Tom, our driver, in the park. He could tell us a lot about animals but also about the plants, bushes and trees. Including the difference between a crater and a caldera. He gave us all the time and good spots for the pictures, story's and questions. At lunch time we got a good meal with a nice view at the caldera, including the Somasa Beef. I still like this snack from Tanzania.
We had to be back for the briefing of the Kilimanjaro tour in our Lodge, Tom planned the trip that good so we we're 15 before the start back in our lodge.
Most spectaculair moment of the day, we did see a lot of animals, was the albino baboon crossing the road in front of us.
Safari to Ngorongor crater, Tarangire, Lake Manyara
We had a really great safari. The driver was excellent and we saw amazing animals. We also had 3 children with us, and the driver got on really well with them. The communication before-hand was good, it took us a while to decide which lodges to go to, especially with the children
