9 Amazing Days in Tanzania
5/5

What an amazing experience this was! Everything was perfect from start to finish. Makasa put together a perfect itinerary with a great blend of activities and lodging for our family of four. Our safari guide, Robert, was exceptional. He knew everything about the land and the animals and made sure we didn’t miss a single thing.

I must admit in the beginning I had some doubts about going on a safari tour. I imagined being among plenty of tourists and sitting in a bumping car for hours just to look for the big fives. My husband and me discussed our concerns with Selma, the operator of Makasa, Tanzanian Safaris. She was very understanding and tried to dispell our concerns. Our trip was planned individually so no reason to worry.

To make the long story short. The safari turned out to be an outstanding experience.

To start with our guide Humphrey. His driving beween rocks and potholes was unbelievable and he always found exciting spots to watch. We witnessed the love affair of a lions´couple and saw the spectacular river crossing of the wildebeest plunging into the crocodile infested river Mara. Humphrey had a great knowledge of the Serengeti and its wildlife and was always able to respond our questions. Aside from that he was a really good entertainer and we had a lot of fun with him.

Accomodation was perfect, we were quite impressed by the privacy and the qualitiy of the tents. We were spoilt by the friendly stuff who welcomed us with drinks and refreshing towels after long drives. Food was also delicious. The location at lake Natron with lots of flamingos was very special. Unforgettable the sundowner right on the lakeside. It was so unique that we almost have forgotten the long dusty drive to get there.

Overall this safari trip will remain in our memory.

Well organized by Makasa! Thank you Selma!

Unforgettable family trip - highly recommended
5/5

We had an amazing vacation and would highly recommend booking through Makasa! Everything was well-organized by Selma, and she offered great suggestions for our itinerary and accommodations. When we had to postpone our trip due to serious illness, they were incredibly flexible and rebooked everything, allowing us to enjoy our vacation later when we were in good health. We really appreciated that!

Jacob, our guide, was fantastic! He has an extensive knowledge of nature, animals, and culture, and explained everything clearly. He was patient, calm, and had a great sense of humor. He also made sure we traveled safely, navigating the bumpy roads with skill. And, thanks to him, we got to see the Big 5!

We also had a wonderful experience at Kimbilio, the camp owned by Makasa. The camp was small and located in a quieter part of the Serengeti, which made it feel intimate and peaceful. The staff were incredibly friendly, the food was delicious, and we had a lot of fun playing card games and laughing together!

Overall, it was a memorable and exceptional trip, and we’re grateful to the entire Makasa team for making it all possible! Asante Makasa!

Makasa has provided a magical safari experience, a tailor-made trip
5/5

LIFE IS A CIRCLE. THE END OF A JOURNEY IS THE BEGINNING OF THE NEXT.

What an unforgettable magical trip with Makasa to Tanzania with the whole family! We thoroughly enjoyed the impressive wildlife and the beautiful nature. Makasa made our trip magical.

During our wonderful safari in Tanzania, we wanted to give our children the opportunity to discover all facets of this unique experience. We opted for a combination of luxury lodge overnight stays and camping in tented camps, and what a fantastic choice that was!

The luxury lodges offered us comfort and breathtaking views, while camping in tented camps really gave us the feeling of being one with nature. The children enjoyed every minute and learned so much about the environment around them. It was a perfect balance between adventure and luxury!

We were able to get to know the Masai tribe. Which made a huge impression. We were allowed to sleep in a Masai lodge in the middle of the wilderness of the Masai steppe with a view of the highest mountain in Africa, Kilimanjaro.

Makasa also made sure that we could celebrate our birthdays in a magical way (including cake) in a safari paradise in the middle of the Serengeti National Park.

We spent these wild camping nights under the stars and heard the sounds of the untouched beauty of the Serengeti with wild animals all around us. It was an unforgettable experience that brought us closer to nature and created memories that we will cherish forever.

What an adventure in Tanzania! Waking up early may not be everyone's favorite, but no one made a problem of it. In fact, everyone was up and about before 6 am with a smile on their face!

It's true: the early morning offers you the best chance to see wild animals in action. And boy did we see a lot! From majestic lions to playful giraffes, it was an unforgettable experience.

Thanks to our great guides, we not only saw the animals, but also learned more about the nature and the environment. It was worth making that early start!

So if you ever go to Tanzania, don't be afraid to get up early. Nature promises you a spectacle that you don't want to miss!

Our two guides Augustin & Robbert were fantastic! Positive, cheerful, enthusiastic with a bizarre amount of knowledge (and oh yes very good eyes). Their enormous extensive knowledge and enthusiasm made the experience even more special. They were not only our guides, but really felt like part of our family. We have taken them into our hearts, and that says enough!

Whether it was the breathtaking wildlife in the Serengeti or the majestic Ngorongoro crater, every moment was an adventure. Thank you to Makasa for organizing this unforgettable trip. And thank you dear guides Robbert & Augustin. Thank you for letting us discover your beautiful Tanzania. We can't wait to go back!

Tanzania truly enchanted us, and we are grateful for the opportunity to have made this trip as a family!

Great safari
5/5

Makasa gave us a beautiful and unforgettable trip. Everything was arranged down to the last detail. Very friendly and patient driver who was with us for days. We had a lot of problems with the suitcases that did not arrive, but Makasa was also busy calling the airport for us every day. They also made sure that the suitcases were delivered to our destination, which we really appreciated.

Clement is the best
4/5

The safari was so beautiful. Clement is really the sweetest and nicest guide you can have at Masaka.

Very interested and very knowledgeable. We saw everything. So many lions, giraffes, zebras and wildebeest and elephants and hippos. Actually everything.

Ask for Clement when you book a safari with Makasa. Everything was well arranged. Sometimes it was not easy, but Makasa quickly solved it for us.

Absolutely recommended.

Perfect.
4/5

A wonderful trip, 9 days Safari, 2 people and your own driver who knew how to find the right places
Luxury Lodge and some primitive tents.Changing nature, smells, colours and a lots odd animals
The Serengeti has high grass in February making the animals difficult to find.
The Ndutu on the other hand has a lot of animals where we have seen the migration of the wildebeest.
The service from Makasa and de Lodges was perfect.
The Jeep was outdated and especially the seats were not too good but our guide/driver Peter was super so then you forgot the chairs.

Makasa is a reliable provider that keeps ist promises.
5/5

We asked Makasa regarding a Tansania-Safari for a first offer. We received a good proposal which we discussed with Zara,
a specialist of Makasa.

A special thank you to Zara, who gave us very good advice on further development. Our requests, changes and questions were answered promptly and competently and incorporated into the planning.

Parameters of the trip:
2 people / 1 guide / 1 vehicle / February 2025 / 7 days / We changed lodges daily.

The trip was perfectly organized from arrival to the return flight. Our guide/driver Stuart is very competent, was opento our individual wishes and he made own good suggestions.

All the Lodges were very well maintained and corresponded to the descriptions. The staff of all accommodations were very friendly and ccommodating.

We were able to observe many animals close in the wild. There were elephants, giraffes, hyenas, wild beasts, zebras, lions, cheetahs, leopards, monkeys, impalas, wild boars, hippos, eagles, vultures, flamingos……seen. Unfortunately, we could only see the rhinoceros with binoculars.

We really enjoyed this trip.
