A non stressed Serengeti safari!
When we met Makasa during one of their presentations about the Makasa organisation, it felt good from the beginning. Our request for a proposal for a safari trip was understood and we received a nice itinerary for our holiday.
A trip well organized in a personal way all the way!
Our private 4WD Jeep was in a very good state and the driver/guide was excellent. He made us really enjoy the several game-drives and could tell us a lot more about the wildlife!
The diversity of the accommodation was what we expected and really value for money.
Our next trip to Tanzania will be organized by Makasa again!

Everything is very well organized and the communication is great.
It was an incredible safari. Everything was arranged very well. The accomodations were great and the safari guide was amazing.
We have seen everything what we wanted to see. We highly recommend Makasa as a tour operator.
Without Makasa the trip will be not the same.

Our expectations have been exceeded!
What a gift. Three weeks we have travelled through Tanzania and Zanzibar.
We stayed at small hotels, enjoyed the wildlife, visited childhomes and meet the locals and learn about there way of living.
Thanks to the organization of Makasa. The program fit our wishes and the guide made our days!
We spot the big five, at the very last moment we have seen the rhino to complete the list. Thanks to Humphrey. We miss him already.
We'll be back for sure in the future. Many, many thanks form Holland!

Incredible experience, awesome service
After doing a bit of research we chose Makasa for our first safari and were not disappointed.
Selma was very helpful and easy to work with. The custom itinerary was perfect and we thoroughly enjoyed spending 3 full days at Serengeti.
The accommodations were as described, and when a little issue arose at one of the lodges, the Makasa team was very supportive and helpful.
Our guide, Kaleby, made our trip exciting but completely stress-free, which is really the best combo for a safari. His knowledge and experience of wildlife, plants, landscapes are top-notch. It may feel somewhat weird to drive with a total stranger for 10 days, but Kaleby is very friendly, attentive, and overall a very nice person to spend time with; it really shows he’s proud to be an ambassador of his country, and that he really loves his job as a safari guide.
Staff at tented camps and lodges were always super friendly and bubbly, and our stay at Maasai Lodge was especially remarkable.
Thank you Makasa! Asante Sana!

Worry free Amazing Family Adventure
I researched multiple Safari companies before contacting Makasa to discuss arrangements. Selma was extremely helpful and accommodating. She was very patient with my multiple inquiries about details only someone from Canada would ask ( which in hindsight, now that I’ve been to Tanzania, were down right silly!). Selma modified our itinerary a number of times until we were satisfied; she was happy to make our trip perfect for our family of 5. A couple days in Zanzibar? No problem! The addition of a side trip to Olduvai Gorge and a hot air balloon ride happened in one email. Literally every aspect of our trip was organized and arranged for us. That included having a taxi arranged for us to take us from one air terminal in Dar to another air terminal-thank goodness!
Our Safari driver and guide, Ben, was a blessing. Kind to our children and thoughtful to my older mother, Ben exceeded expectations. He was a safe driver. He was patient. Where we saw only a tree on the Serengeti, Ben saw a leopard sleeping on a branch! His skill in spotting and identifying wildlife can’t be over exaggerated.
Our accommodations were as described and were clean and comfortable. Listening to the lions vocalizing at night from our tented camp in the Serengeti was a highlight! One would think we would feel unsafe at night with wildlife in close proximity but at each location there were guards/Maasai in the camps at night. The food at our accommodations was varied and delicious with lots of Vegetarian choices. My kids appreciated the availability of pools at several lodges. The staff at each location were all friendly.
In summary, a trip of a life time with wonderful memories. Thank you Selma and Makasa.

Excellent service with a personal touch
Makasa is really a perfect tour operator! From our booking with Fien at the show in Amsterdam, to the personal whatsapp-communication with Selma in Moshi and te excellent guide Humprey during our safari and our contactperson in Zanzibar: everything was taken care off and our whole holiday we felt part of the Makasa-family. We made contact with other Makasa travellers on our way and all the travellers we spoke were really very satisfied with this tour operator. It has the unique combination of a small company with a personal touch and the service and network of a big company. Thanks all the people of makasa to make our trip to Tanzania onforgettable!

Incredible experience- couldn't have asked for a better safari! Highly recommend Makasa!
Makasa was a great company to do a Safari through! We had a group of 6 people coming in from different locations and times and Selma was able to coordinate all our arrivals and departures, along with creating an incredible custom itinerary to fit our schedule. They were able to make last minute changes for our group with ease and was easy to communicate with throughout the process.
I couldn't speak more highly of our guide, Ally. He was very informative and knowledgeable about the animals, geography, history, etc. While other cars sped by, he drove cautiously allowing us to take in the area, educating us and helping us spot the animals. He also took good care of the car and kept everything very clean. I couldn't have asked for a better guide!
The tented camps we stayed at were great! The food was incredible and everyone that worked at them were extremely friendly; the hospitality was superb. It was a great experience and loved hearing the animals at night.
I highly recommend Makasa for your safari adventures. I will be coming back at some point in the future and will definitely be using them again!

Magnificent Safari Trips organised by Makasa
Our group consisted of 2 grand parents with their 2 sons and 4 of their grand children.
Our 5 day trip was very well organised. From picking up at Kilimanjaro airport upto Arusha airport for our flight to Dar Es Salam. Well equiped lodges. Good meals.
We had a first class guide, Ali. He drove carefully. He showed us all we wanted to see during 3 full day safari trips. He gave us exlanations about what we saw. Told us about group behaviour of the various animals. We saw for instance how elderly elephants protected their young ones when a jackal tried to attack a young elephant. Even when a lion walked slowly to our car. He came up to 1 meter!
The three full day trips were very different. The Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara National Park and Ngorongoro Crater. The last was by far the most impressive. A very big and flat crater area with many herds of animals. Our driver brought us to this herds. He had a lot of experience and sharp eyes. So we could see everything from nearby.
By the way we would not have been missed the other trips. The lake and the hills gave us a complete impresssion about wild life in Tanzania.
We are still very thankfull to our guide Ali. With all his experience he showed us so much.
We had a splendid safari holiday!! It was very additional to earlear made trips to Kafue National Park and the Zambesi River at Zambia.

A wonderful experience in de beautiful wildlife of Tanzania
We are very satisfied and happy about our experiences with Makasa. The contacts we had in the Netherlands with Fien were very pleasant. All of our wishes were fullfilled. We stayed 16 days on the mainland and visited on our first day a coffey plantation of local farmers what was very interesting. De next day we went to the very beautiful Masaai Lodge in a beautiful envirenment and a very friendly staf. In the 2 weeks after this stay we visited Arusha National Park, Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara, Ndutu, Serengeti and Ngorongoro National Park. We saw a lot of wildlife, such as the migration of the wildebeast, the big five, cheeta's, caracals, elephants, hyena's, jackals and so on. We travelled with David, a guide with a great knowledge of the wildlife, nature and the origin of the landscapes. And with a great love and respect for nature en envirenmont. He did everything to let us have a good time.
Makasa aranged a nice variety of lodges for us. Very simple, tented camps (in Ndutu and Serengeti) and some luxery lodges. But every lodge was very good and had a very friendly and welcoming staf. After a week we stayed 2 nights in Rhotia Valley Tented Camp which is founded to support an orphanage. It was a very special experience to stay there. The last five nights we spend in the beautiful little lodge Hakune Mahije, seated on the beach of Zanzibar. The place was like a paradise. Just like in other places we experienced real hospitality of Tanzania.
