Fantastic! Personable and caring throughout and had a great wildlife experience.
5/5

We loved travelling with Makasa! Selma and Ngomi arranged everything in a personable, efficient, and caring way. We had an excellent guide who, like the other Makasa guides, had a good knowledge of trees and birds as well as the incredible animals. He was very sensitive to our needs and interests throughout and catered for them to the best of his ability. In all the places we stayed we received a warm welcome from our hosts and often wonderful stories about the challenges and joys of doing projects (such as the Rhotia valley children's home) and running a business in this unique and beautiful country.

Amazing vacation with top tour planning and top guide A++++
5/5

After having done lots of research on the web for a good safari operator in Tanzania, we also found Makasa and were convinced from the very many excellent reviews.
Furthermore already the first contact was very helpful and already providing us with lots of good hints and tips even though we were still far away from booking a package.
They spend a lot of time planning and organizing "your" safari, so that you will have the individualized tour you are looking for.
Everything was then managed in an excellent way, the car was nice and ideal for animal game watching, the national parks we visited were all worth the visit, so were the accommodations.
Our guide, Khalibi, spoke very good English and knew tons about the local flora and the animals. In addition he was fun and we really had a great time.
We can totally recommend Makasa esp. if you are looking for a highly individualized safari!

Up Close With Wild Animals in Tanzania
5/5

We thoroughly enjoyed our safari with Makasa. From the time we landed at Kilimanjaro until the time we flew out from Dar Es Salaam we were very well looked after with every aspect of our travel well organized which was a great relief to us.

Our guide, Tom, was a fantastic man and we couldn't have asked for anything more from him. He made sure we had the opportunity to see all of the wild animals in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater and it appeared to us that he was very popular with the camp staff and other guides. He was aware of what was on offer to view and got us to each place so that we could enjoy the sights before the animals moved away.

The accommodation on safari was great and, despite the remoteness of some of the camps, we were well looked after and well catered for. We completed our trip with 5 nights at Kilima Kidogo on the Zanzibar coast where we were also extremely comfortable and well looked after. Anyone wanting a relaxing stay could not pass up the opportunity to stay with Dina and her staff.

Safari to Ngorongor crater, Tarangire, Lake Manyara
5/5

We had a really great safari. The driver was excellent and we saw amazing animals. We also had 3 children with us, and the driver got on really well with them. The communication before-hand was good, it took us a while to decide which lodges to go to, especially with the children

Great day at Arusha National Park
5/5

Going for the Kili Challenge of WAR Child somebody mentioned to do a safari before climbing the Kilimanjaro. The contact for Makasa Tanzanian Safaris was given to me. I got a quick response on the possibility of doing a safari.
We had a great day with Tom, our driver, in the park. He could tell us a lot about animals but also about the plants, bushes and trees. Including the difference between a crater and a caldera. He gave us all the time and good spots for the pictures, story's and questions. At lunch time we got a good meal with a nice view at the caldera, including the Somasa Beef. I still like this snack from Tanzania.
We had to be back for the briefing of the Kilimanjaro tour in our Lodge, Tom planned the trip that good so we we're 15 before the start back in our lodge.
Most spectaculair moment of the day, we did see a lot of animals, was the albino baboon crossing the road in front of us.

Fabulous Experience
5/5

We have just returned from a 10 day safari, 5 day beach experience in Tanzania. It was organised through Selma at Makasa Safaris. Everything was perfect! Selma organised our flights to and from Dar, as well as the safari and beach vacation in Zanzibar. Communication with Selma was easy and efficient. Our Makasa guide Ally was amazing! He was very thoughtful and always asked us what we wanted to do, and he planned our days around this. He was so interested in the wildlife, was full of information and we just enjoyed our time learning from him. During our 10 days on safari we visited Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara National Park, The Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Ndutu and Serengeti National Park. Each area offered something a little but different. We saw the Big 5, as well as a huge selection of other animals and birds. The highlight was spending 2 hours following a cheetah stalk, hunt and kill a Gazelle - nature at its best! The accommodation that Selma had organised was also excellent - the tented camps were a great experience. After the safari we flew from Serengeti to Zanzibar for some relaxation. Selma had booked us in to the Z Hotel on Nungwi Beach- this was wonderful! A beautiful beach and a lovely resort - a fantastic way to celebrate our 25th Wedding anniversary! Thank you Selma for the amazing job you did organising this trip for us.

We had heard so many great things about Makasa, even then our safari experience was Beyond expectati
5/5

We really felt that we were in "uncharted territory" while researching and organizing our trip, not knowing anyone that had done anything similar. Makasa advised us every step of the way and their recommendations were "spot on". The tented safari was definitely the right choice for us. The camps were the perfect combination---we felt safe and comfortable (food was excellent !!) at all times and yet "in the wild" added to the experience. Our guide Kaleby was THE BEST !! He was Professional, Knowledgeable and so much fun !!!

Travelling with Makasa was fantastic!
5/5

Wildlife, nature and people in Tanzania speak for themselves. We really loved the tented camps, the beautiful tents, our fantastic guide Kalibi, the way our son has been taught so many amazing things during the gamedrives and the glass of wine at the fireplace.
