Makasa Tanzania was the best way to do a Safari
5/5

It is difficult to know where to start with Makasa, they were so helpful with the arrangements, booking us from the time we arrived to our departure to The Tides resort. We stayed at the Kilimanjaro lodge for two nights and this was a wonderful experience. The lodge is very clean and the staff here are excellent very friendly and very professional. Our tour guide Frank was more than we could have hoped for. We spent six days with him. He was so knowledgeable about our destinations and interested us and our country (Canada). We saw so much, the beautiful Serengeti was the highlight for us. We saw so much throughout our tour. We could not have asked for more.

Unforgetable safari - perfect organisation!
5/5

We booked late, had just 3 days and saw a lot!
Conversation (german!) with Miriam was easy, very helpful and friendly.
Freddie was a perfekt guide: Very hospitable and caring. He knows where to find the lions and we learned a lot about wild animals and were able to take hundreds of wonderful pictures!
It was worth it to start very early in the morning so we were about the first to arrive at Tarangire National Park.
The second day we spent at Ngorogoro-Crater.
It's worth to visit both of them - they are so different!
Our desicion to spent two nights in one lodge was very good.
We highly recommend "Rothia Valley Tented Lodge"!
It's located between this two parks, closer to the Crater.
A perfect place to stay when you are on safari! The hospitality is great!
We really enjoyed our comfortable tented room: Beautiful and clean and you're close to nature.
And a perfect example for responsable tourism.
The hosts give home to both - guests and homeless children.
On our last morning Marcel took us on a guided walk to "Coffee Corner", a nice restaurant, that belongs to the lodge, too. On this tour we learned a lot about plants and farming in Tanzania.
Freddie picked us up after we enjoyed lunch and even the way back was interesting and Freddie answered all our questions about everyday life in Tanzania.
We are very thankfull to all that made this 3 days very special and unforgetable!
Our next safari will be with Makasa, too - that's sure!

Amazing trip!
5/5

Our safari on the mainland and island adventure on Zanzibar were excellent. We had nothing to worry about. Everything was taken care of from A to Z so we could relax and simply enjoy our time in Tanzania. Our guides were very friendly and knowledgeable, and the accommodations recommended were outstanding, especially the tented camps... I highly recommend the experience! I can't say enough about Makasa and the care Selma took in making our 25th anniversary trip truly magical!

Makasa did a fantastic job for us, two older ladies embarking on an adventure to see the animals. Our driver was courteous, observant and very very safe. We were blown away by the number of animals he was able to point out for us when we couldn't see beyond the camouflage! The only animal we werent able to find was the rhino, but other wonderful experiences were worth the 30 hour plane trip to see. And the birds... colour and all shapes and sizes we could not have imagined out of a book. Thank you, Ali and Makasa.

A very well, wonderful, advised, organized and skillfully executed safari trip in all its senses.
5/5

This trip exceeded all our our previous experiences, and these where already quite unique. It was a wonderful safari trip, in all aspects, organization, accommodations, setup and schedule of the safari from start to end Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro, Serengeti Central and Serengeti North. Including the various Camps, Lodges and under canvas accommodations, not one word of comments or complains should be justified.

Even the animals did there utmost best to make this trip one not to forget, of course in that aspect no one can do without a lot of luck or certain circumstances. However even with luck you need a very experienced and skillful guide with a lot of animal behavior knowledge and patience to make it a good combination.

Of course there is a difference in the parks and animal life, however the combination advised and chosen was for us a lifetime experience. Every day there a surprise or a moment of astonishment in one or another way created by nature and animals from small to big ones or groups.

Makasa Management and their Staff made their promises and our expectations to become a daily reality for us during our two weeks Safari. Animal Planets in reality .

This was our second safari with Makasa and again we had a fantastic trip. Thank you Selma for the pleasant contact and your good suggestions for our trip. The tented camps in the Serengeti were a great experience. Also many thanks to Humphrey, our driver/guide. With him we saw the wildebeast crossing and two Leopards mating. We will never forget it. We can recommend Makasa to everyone!

A well prepared and well communicated safari with a knowledgable, pleasant and careful driver.
5/5

Makasa made a trip for us, two not so young ladies. We received good advise on where to go and stay and we discussed the itinerary via email and received quick response from the company. We stayed in a tented lodge, a bush camp and a traditional lodge, all were well functioning and the staff did all they could to make us feel comfortable. The food was such a delight in all three places and the rooms very cosy and pleasant.
The safari included long, unpleasant and dusty drives due to the condition of the roads between Ngorongoro and Serona but the driver did a good job. It is necessary on such a safari to drive long distance on the hunt for the interesting view and the driver made it interesting by sharing knowledge about the landscape and history of the places and people. Very good,
The trip was very interesting even if I have been there before and it was a great trip. I can recommend.

Great safari, great company, great guide!!
5/5

We thoroughly enjoyed our Tanzanian safari. We visited Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park including the northern part near the Mara river, and Ngorongoro crater. All of the accommodations were excellent. The Simba lodge had a watering hole right next to it where we saw elephants, zebras, warthogs, and storks. The tented camps in the Serengeti were very comfortable and close to the animals, including one night with a Hippo munching on grass right by our tent! Our guide, Jamal, was awesome! He knew where to find the animals and was also quite knowledgeable about birds. We saw 40 different animals and more than 90 kinds of birds. We saw the big 5 and much much more. Some of the highlights were:
the massing of many different kinds of animals at the Tarangire river
spotting the African Wild Dog (Cape Hunting Dog) an endangered and very rare species
viewing lots of animals at the watering hole next to the Simba Lodge
seeing a large pride of lions comprised of 2 males, 4 females, and 13 cubs
a mother lion nursing her 7 cubs (she also carried one around in her mouth)
3 wildebeest migrations across the Mara river
2 female lions stalking and killing a zebra right in front of our eyes
Spotting a rhino up close
