A non stressed Serengeti safari!
When we met Makasa during one of their presentations about the Makasa organisation, it felt good from the beginning. Our request for a proposal for a safari trip was understood and we received a nice itinerary for our holiday.
A trip well organized in a personal way all the way!
Our private 4WD Jeep was in a very good state and the driver/guide was excellent. He made us really enjoy the several game-drives and could tell us a lot more about the wildlife!
The diversity of the accommodation was what we expected and really value for money.
Our next trip to Tanzania will be organized by Makasa again!

Great 3-day safari!
Overall, this was a great experience!
Selma communicated with us along the way and she was very responsive. We loved the diversity of the 3 parks that we visited (Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro, Tarangire) - each of them were very different and had a lot to offer! Our guide, Robert, was knowledgeable and kind. We stayed at Simba Karatu Lodge for the 2 nights and it was absolutely beautiful and the food was great.
The one thing we were disappointed in is the lunches. When you are paying thousands of dollars, we would expect better food, not just a piece of white bread with cheese and some fruit. I am not sure why we could not get leftovers from the previous dinner or a better quality lunch. We communicated with the lodge several times about our food restrictions, but they had no idea how to make a vegetarian lunch box and one without dairy. They messed up all 3 days, even after clarifying what we could and could not eat. We were especially disappointed because the food at the lodge for dinner was great! I am not sure why they could not have made more effort for the lunches. Overall, this is not a big deal, but I had much higher expectations given the price we were paying.

Makasa managed to organize an unforgettable vacation for us
Pleasant and personal communication
Flexible to our wishes.
Well organized safari with pleasant, reliable guide with al lot of knowledge
Beautiful lodges in beautiful locations.
It was nice that, thanks to Makasa's selection of small-scale lodges in close cooperation with local people and local projects, we could return something for the population.

Good organisation for safari
It started not so good. We were at a different gate at the border than our guide. There was a miscommunication between the office and the guide. It was solved quickly but Makasa Tanzanian Safaris could have called us, to apologize.
After this we could have not wish for a better guide. Tom was the best. A good driver and very good guide. We learned a lot. He knows a lot about the flora and fauna. He also knew the right spots for the animals we would like to spot. It was a great experience, because of him. He is also a funny guy.
The accomodations were also perfect. I would choose Makasa Tanzanian Safaris again if I would go to Tanzania.

Unforgettable family trip - highly recommended
We had an amazing vacation and would highly recommend booking through Makasa! Everything was well-organized by Selma, and she offered great suggestions for our itinerary and accommodations. When we had to postpone our trip due to serious illness, they were incredibly flexible and rebooked everything, allowing us to enjoy our vacation later when we were in good health. We really appreciated that!
Jacob, our guide, was fantastic! He has an extensive knowledge of nature, animals, and culture, and explained everything clearly. He was patient, calm, and had a great sense of humor. He also made sure we traveled safely, navigating the bumpy roads with skill. And, thanks to him, we got to see the Big 5!
We also had a wonderful experience at Kimbilio, the camp owned by Makasa. The camp was small and located in a quieter part of the Serengeti, which made it feel intimate and peaceful. The staff were incredibly friendly, the food was delicious, and we had a lot of fun playing card games and laughing together!
Overall, it was a memorable and exceptional trip, and we’re grateful to the entire Makasa team for making it all possible! Asante Makasa!

I must admit in the beginning I had some doubts about going on a safari tour. I imagined being among plenty of tourists and sitting in a bumping car for hours just to look for the big fives. My husband and me discussed our concerns with Selma, the operator of Makasa, Tanzanian Safaris. She was very understanding and tried to dispell our concerns. Our trip was planned individually so no reason to worry.
To make the long story short. The safari turned out to be an outstanding experience.
To start with our guide Humphrey. His driving beween rocks and potholes was unbelievable and he always found exciting spots to watch. We witnessed the love affair of a lions´couple and saw the spectacular river crossing of the wildebeest plunging into the crocodile infested river Mara. Humphrey had a great knowledge of the Serengeti and its wildlife and was always able to respond our questions. Aside from that he was a really good entertainer and we had a lot of fun with him.
Accomodation was perfect, we were quite impressed by the privacy and the qualitiy of the tents. We were spoilt by the friendly stuff who welcomed us with drinks and refreshing towels after long drives. Food was also delicious. The location at lake Natron with lots of flamingos was very special. Unforgettable the sundowner right on the lakeside. It was so unique that we almost have forgotten the long dusty drive to get there.
Overall this safari trip will remain in our memory.
Well organized by Makasa! Thank you Selma!

9 Amazing Days in Tanzania
What an amazing experience this was! Everything was perfect from start to finish. Makasa put together a perfect itinerary with a great blend of activities and lodging for our family of four. Our safari guide, Robert, was exceptional. He knew everything about the land and the animals and made sure we didn’t miss a single thing.

A safari with Makasa is an unforgettable experience!
At the end of September/beginning of October we had a great trip to Tanzania! A 10-day safari along the Masai and the beautiful parks Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro crater and the Serengeti. And then another 5 days of afterglow on Zanzibar.
We came across Makasa via Instagram and their offer immediately appealed to us; private safari with your own guide, a mix of lodges and tented camps, luxury and also back to basic with the sounds of lions and hyenas around your tent, the real safari feeling. No massive accommodations.
Anne helped us put together our program, the contact went very well, always a quick response and we could ask all our questions. There was a lot of emailing back and forth, but nothing was too much. We also spoke to her once via a Teams meeting, that was also very nice.
You have a lot of freedom in putting together your trip, there is no fixed program, you can organize it as you want.
On site, Selma is very accessible for questions if necessary, which gives a good feeling.
And what we found most special was our fantastic guide Jacob. You are on the road together in the jeep all day for 10 days, so that is quite decisive for the experience of your trip, that really makes the difference. You notice that Makasa really pays attention to the quality of the guide. Jacob has so much knowledge about the animals and nature that he shared with us.
It was a very special trip! Thank you Makasa and Jacob!
