Professional and excellent service
We had some doubts about travelling to Tanzania with the current situation but we were so happy we did. We never worried about Covid-19 during our trip. It was easy tot keep a safe distance and in the parks it was very quiet. This was our second time in Tanzania and we enjoyed it so much more. Our lodges were amazing and the staff was so friendly. Our guide Gerard was extremely knowledgeable, We were amazed by how much he knew about the parks and animals. He had a good eye for animals and we saw so much more this time. We also want to thank Leona for her patience with us before safari. She answered all our hundreds of questions which we are very thankful of. Team Sunset Adventure : asante sana for this amazing experience!!!!

Perfect family safari
We booked a safari for two families: 4 adults and 5 children. We did a two day safari to Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro and several day trips. The kids loved the safari but probably the day trip to the Kikuletwa hot springs even more! What an adventure it was. Our guides Ben and Omari were so friendly, they were always on time and the kids had a blast with them. During the safari we slept in a tented lodge in the middle of bush. We never worried for a second because the guides and the staff from the lodge took such good care of us. It was an adventure both our families will never forget. Hopefully we will be back one day!

Perfect experience
Sunset Africa was recommended to us by friends, and we planned our trip directly with Godfrey. Everything was perfectly organized. We had a 10 day Safari, and most of the nights we stayed at public campsites. The sites were basic but OK. We enjoyed being close to nature all the time, and had an amazing experience with elephants walking around the campsite at night and see them passing by our tent. At meal times we were spoiled by our cook Juma. He prepared delicious European and Tanzanian style food. He even managed to bake a birthday cake for one of us. He took perfectly care of us together with our driver and guide Ommy. Ommy had a good humour and was really outstanding. He explained everything to us and showed that he is dedicated to wildlife and the national parks. It was anazing how he spotted the animals in the Savannah and we had lots of time to take photos, get detailed information from him or just look. We saw all the animals we had hoped for. Thanks to Ommy’s intuition and experience we also had the chance to see the river crossing in northern Serengeti. In total this was an unforgettable trip, maybe the trip of my life. A birthday wish became true - thank you.

Ngorongo Crater Safari with Patrick!
We would highly recommend Sunset Africa Ltd. to anyone looking for honest, quality service when embarking on an African safari. After finding our family of five in a difficult situation due to another company’s incompetence, Sunset Africa Ltd. came to our rescue and made sure that we were taken care of. Godfrey, the managing director, ensured that we knew exactly what we were getting so there would be no surprises. Patrick, our driver, was knowledgeable, friendly, considerate, and made sure that we were able to see every possible animal in Ngorongoro Crater. While the kids’ favourites were the zebras, we all enjoyed the wide variety of birds, herbivores, and carnivores. Patrick’s patience, experience and long-standing relationships with other drivers meant that all of us – our kids ranging from teenager to toddler – had a memorable time.
Our sense of being taken care of did not end with the safari portion; Patrick coordinated with Godfrey to drop us off directly at the airport instead of changing vehicles in Arusha (as planned) to make sure we arrived on time. We have nothing but gratitude for the positive experience and are thrilled by the animals we were able to observe in their natural habitats!
Note that Sunset Africa Ltd. further specializes in mountain trekking, camping and lodge safaris, balloon safari, cultural tourism, beach holidays, hotel reservation and volunteering programs.

Once in a liftome experience!
We did an unforgettable beautiful 12-day tented safari with Sunset Africa. We started at Tarangire National park in which we saw, next to the ‘normal’ zebras, wilder beasts, impala’s, giraffes, warthogs and more, an amazing number of Elephants and we had our baptism of fire with lions next to the campsite.
After Tarangire we went to Lake Manyara were spent a day driving along the lake where we saw all kind of animal in het bush and millions of flamingos.
Although the first two national parks were impressive the tour did build up to better and better. Ngorongoro crater is a truly beautiful place where we added hippo’s and (nine!) rhinos to our list. In the Serengeti National Park, we saw a really unbelievable amount of wilder beast and zebra migrating through the area and we completed the Big Five with a number of leopards. Since we had a couple of days in this big park we were able to get away from the standard locations we could really enjoy the various landscapes and the variety of animals.
Next to the wonderful landscape and the number and variety of animals we were spoiled by our excellent driver/guide Ben who was able to spot and identify animals at enormous distances and could tell all kind of background stories about the animals, the parks and Tanzania.
Of course, there are things to improve like a slightly bigger tent and slightly better chairs and diner table but that really does not change the way we feel about this adventure. The car was in good condition and the served breakfast, lunch and dinner was tasteful. Public campsites are basic, but we still feel that our choice for those campsites instead of lodges by which we could add a couple of days to the safari was the right choice. Next time we would consider special campsites.
Guide Ben and Sunset Safari, thank you for this experience and we would like to recommend you to all travellers. We hope to contact you for our next safari soon.

Fabulous Safari experience
We had a great Safari experience with Sunset Africa. We went for a one-week safari in Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater before flying to Zanzibar for another week of beach holiday.
Godfrey, with whom we organised the trip, was highly responsive and took good care of all our individual requests. He welcomed us personally at our first evening in Arusha.
Our driver Beni was highly knowledgable on the local wildlife, friendly, a safe driver who takes good care of the jeep and flexible.
Sunset Africa can also arrange holidays and tours in Zanzibar. We went on a great tour through Stone Town with our guide Abraham.
All in all we had an exciting and once-in-a-lifetime experience in Tansania. We can highly recommend Sunset Africa and would happily book with them again in the future.

life time experience. 1 week Safai, 1 week Sansibar beach
we, family of 4, with kids at age 15 and 17, enjoyed this trip very much. The service and care taking of the SunSet Afrika team was really more than we expected. All the way from planning though execution all agreements were met or even deliverd beyond. Great team with very experienced people. Flexibel, reliable and caretaking.

Best value and great service but please check your transfers to avoid mistakes
We went on a private tour (2pax) with Sunset Africa in early Aug 2016. We used the 12-day package as a base and customized it.
We had a good experience liaising with the company. Godfrey the manager is very prompt in replying to emails. He also was upfront about the increase in cost due to the government's increase in taxes, and his increase was reasonable because he didn't apply the 18% on the entire cost of the package, which some other companies did.
For the safari part of the itinerary, we stayed in a mix of small hotels (in the city), lodges and tented camps (fully equipped with sink, toilet bowl and shower). All the meals that were stated in the itinerary were provided and all the pickups went smoothly, with the drivers waiting for us upon arrival. We did not have any dispute with the company at any point regarding what was included and what was not.
Our guide during the safari, Benedicto (Ben) was great. He really went out of his way to make sure that we spotted the big 5 (especially the rhino which was not easy to spot), and he never tried to slack off and end the game drives early even though he was clearly tired from a long day of driving. He is also a great conversationalist and very well informed! The vehicle used is a land cruiser with a roof that can be opened.
The experience in Zanzibar was also good, though I would suggest that unless you really like beach activities, you might not need to stay for that long at the beach hotel. We also arranged a spice tour and island tour on our own with a local company without problems.
The only word of caution I have is that you need to check your travel tickets and dates very carefully because we had some mistakes with ours. We got Sunset Africa to book our domestic flights as well as ferry tickets for us, and they booked the wrong date for one of the flights. Fortunately we spotted the mistake before we left for Tanzania so they could change it. Another slight hiccup was that when we got to Zanzibar, we found that the guide there did not know he was supposed to book the ferry tickets for us, so it was lucky that we happened to check with him so he could follow up on the necessary in time.
Overall, it has been a very good experience travelling with Sunset Africa. Their strength clearly lies in the wonderful safari guides they have and in organising the safari parts of the itinerary. They are also the best value for money that I have found. I would recommend Sunset Africa for mid-range luxury at reasonable prices.

Best safari company!
My mom and I traveled together on a safari in late June to early July 2016. We arranged for the safari a few months ahead of time and Godfrey was quick to respond to our questions via email. We did a wire transfer to pay in advance for our trip and he confirmed it was received.
The staff at Sunset Africa were all outstanding. We arrived at the Kilimanjaro airport, and there was a driver there to take us to our hotel, which was included in our tour price. One of the staff members came to the hotel that evening to let us know what time we should be ready the following morning for our safari.
Our safari guide Benedicto ("Ben") was excellent. We were in a Land Rover with an expandable top and had ample space to move around and take pictures of the abundant wildlife. Ben was great about spotting animals we never would have seen on our own. He was informative about the areas we were visiting and talked about the history. He even went above and beyond his call of duty by finding a step stool for my mom to use when getting in and out of the vehicle.
There were only three of us on the safari, which was not planned, but was a pleasant surprise for us since the other three people that would have been with us missed their flight and were with a different group.
We were provided with all lodging, food and water during the safari. There are a lot of options and the trips can be customized. We had a mixture of lodges and a tented camp. We were lucky enough to see the Big Five, but that can't be guaranteed since the animals are in large national parks or conservation areas.
After our safari, we stayed overnight in Arusha prior to flying to Zanzibar the following day. Transportation to the airport was provided and when we arrived in Zanzibar another driver was there to take us to our hotel in Stone Town. We went on a walking tour of Stone Town the following morning, and then went to the beach hotel where we stayed for three nights. Transportation to the ferry (our preferred transport) from our beach hotel was also provided. We were able to arrange to do a spice tour and snorkeling on our own without a problem.
If you are looking for a hassle free safari experience in Tanzania, I would highly recommend Sunset Africa! I looked at a lot of different safari companies before deciding to go with them, and am pleased that I did. They were reasonably priced and provided excellent service.

Perfect management from the beginning...
First of all I have to say it started with a good and fast communication with a manager of Sunset Africa - Godfrey. It was my first time in Africa so needed to know a lot of local infos, conditions ... and he explained me everything and tried to manage everything I asked for. When I started to be sure to decide for Sunset Africa (I asked more companies to make me an itinerary offer with a price) I found some feedbacks and as there was mentioned the name of the guy I did a conversation with it made me trust to send my money thousands km-s away :) Yes, all our stay was planned very well exactly as I correct it and Godfrey was the first in Arusha who I met and everything went easy and clean. Safari has been excellent after all we moved to Zanzibar (managed by SA as well) and there was a perfect location and program as well as all the stuff who did take care of us in all our stay in our almost 2 weeks in Africa. However everytime is some complications but definitely they want to help you as they can so thumb up for this company. Thanks again.
